With One Blade, Overturning Konoha!

Chapter 128: Kurama: I’m Not Just Insulting You, But Your Ancestors Too.

Trust isn’t built in a day. Hakken and the Nine-Tails had made a pact, one that included helping Naruto and Minato become true golden legends. That kind of bond needed time. Once it genuinely acknowledged someone, there was no need for empty talk.

The turmoil had settled. Night fell. The town returned to its lively state. The Tailed Beast Ball from earlier hadn’t hurt anyone. Aside from the strong tremor, it hadn’t affected the residents’ daily lives.

Inside the barbecue shop beside the casino, a few strange figures drew attention. People looked over a couple of times, especially at the blade resting beside the boy, which gleamed with a sharp light every now and then.

“Eat. Don’t tell me I have to feed you.”

A piece of tender, fragrant meat—perfectly cooked—landed in front of Kurama as Hakken flicked it over with his fork.

Kurama snorted without speaking and pointed a tiny paw at the gourd of sake sitting next to Hakken’s sword. The meaning was obvious. Grilled meat without a drink just wasn’t right.

With no choice, Hakken tossed his own gourd in front of him.

The beast was still sulking. Just because Hakken had stopped it from beating up Tsunade. By its own logic, it simply wanted to pound Tsunade a bit to vent. Who told her grandfather to seal it away on a whim? Since it couldn’t hit the old man, going after the younger one felt perfectly reasonable. And that old woman really had sent it flying. Otherwise it wouldn’t be this angry.

At heart, it was basically a simple kid. A tsundere one at that.

Hakken shook his head and looked at the stunned Tsunade and Shizune. At the end of the day, both were healers—Medical-nin, and excellent ones. Tsunade was the best; Shizune was… average. Medical-nin this valuable were indispensable to Konoha, which was why he had already explained his purpose.

“Why are you staring at me? I’m an old woman. What’s there to look at?” Tsunade said coldly.

“Good to know. Old hag or not, she still insists on acting young.”

Before Hakken could respond, Kurama beside him immediately started mocking her with a sarcastic tone.

“Who the hell are you calling an old hag?! I’ll tear you apart!”

Got something stuck in your throat?

Tsunade was completely enraged. Ever since they’d arrived at the yakiniku shop, this damn Tailed Beast had been muttering insults like “old hag” nonstop. She was already sensitive about anything that hinted at her age, but she’d once provoked the Nine-Tails, so she’d begrudgingly held back.

But now those words felt like they were drilling straight into her ears. If she didn’t shut him up now, this nickname would stick with her forever.

Old? I’m not old!

Tsunade fumed.

“You, yeah, you. What’s your problem? In my opinion, Mito Uzumaki was way stronger than you. This Yin Seal came from the Uzumaki clan in the first place, perfected by that woman, then passed to you. Mito Uzumaki knew her limits and only sealed chakra.”

“And you? The moment you learned it, you shamelessly changed its name.”

“If you hate aging so much, why not show up looking the way you did in your toddler years? At least you wouldn’t have to use the bathroom.”

Once Kurama started, he didn’t stop.

Hakken, realizing for the first time that the Nine-Tails had a chatterbox personality, felt a headache forming. You’re supposed to be the strongest Tailed Beast, not a professional trash talker.

“Eat meat.”

He shoved a steaming hot piece of grilled meat straight into Kurama’s mouth, held its head down to force it to swallow, then turned to Tsunade.

“Uh, cut me some slack. My dog’s been a bit too sharp-tongued lately.”

“But I’ll warn you. You’d better apologize to it. Otherwise, that ‘old hag’ nickname is going to stick.”

“And don’t start a fight with it. It’s been annoyed with you for a long time. Actually, not just you. It can’t stand anyone from the Senju clan—main family, branch family, or anyone related.”

Bang!

Tsunade slammed the table, her face turning livid as chakra surged from her.

“Why should I?!”

It’s hated me for a long time?

What did I ever do to it?

Got any shame?

And you want me to apologize to your dog?

You were the one who called me an old hag first! Otherwise, would the Nine-Tails—a creature like that—really remember something and chew on it endlessly?

“Because your beloved grandfather, the First Hokage Hashirama Senju, sealed it away just because he was strong.”

“And the most shameless thing is what your ancestor did—treating the Tailed Beasts like war supplies and selling them.”

Calm as ever, Hakken directly insulted the First Hokage.

Damn, unbelievable.

Those words hit perfectly.

Moved beyond belief, Kurama reluctantly spit the grilled meat from its mouth into Hakken’s bowl—a gesture of immense generosity for a beast. Unfortunately, Hakken disdainfully stuffed the meat right back into its mouth.

Don’t disgust me.

“Kid! Who the hell did you just insult?!”

Across from Hakken, the furious person grew even more enraged. Even the Yin Seal on Tsunade’s forehead showed signs of opening.

She was genuinely losing it.

Jiraiya stood beside them, too scared to breathe.

Once, he’d merely tried to peek—hadn’t even gotten close—before getting his ribs broken…

And this kid dared to joke about the First Hokage.

Well… it didn’t sound like a joke.

Hakken seemed to hold actual grudges against the First. The source of thɪs content is NoveI[F]ire.net

Jiraiya let out a helpless sigh, not knowing how to resolve this conflict.

The “old hag” comment alone had already been a disaster.

Now what?

“How dare you!”

What completely shocked Jiraiya was that Kurama, seeing his old buddy being yelled at, wasn’t having it.

Its tiny paws slapped the table, and it leapt onto the stove, its swollen body wrapped in a cloak of red chakra.

“Let me spell it out for you! He insulted the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju!”

“Hashirama Senju is trash! If Madara Uchiha hadn’t controlled me back then, if I had fought him myself, you think he could beat me?!”

“And listen clearly! I’m right here! Not only did that brat insult him, but I did too!”

“Touch him. Go ahead, try.”

Kurama was acting like a complete menace.

Hakken was speechless. If you want an excuse to curse the First, just curse him. Why drag me into it?

He did have issues with Hashirama Senju—a man strong enough to dominate the world yet choosing to bow his head and beg for peace. But he didn’t hate him. The man who co-founded the hidden villages with Madara Uchiha deserved respect.

Still, Hakken never understood why the First fought Madara so fiercely, yet completely ignored the ambitions of the other four nations.

He genuinely didn’t get it.

Tsunade was already losing her mind, her anger boiling over as she glared at Kurama.

“You really think I can’t beat you?”

“You definitely can’t beat this old man.”

Kurama sneered. If this old woman knew Wood Release, it might fear her. But without it? What was she bragging about?

“Want to take it outside?”

Tsunade’s pride couldn’t take it anymore. She rolled up her sleeves, ready to fight.

Today had been unbearably humiliating.

She needed to vent.

“Careful, Kurama. This old woman’s got the Strength of a Hundred Techniques. She can regenerate from any hit.”

“Yeah, whatever it’s called—Ninja Art: Creation Rebirth Strength of a Hundred Techniques or something.”

“You know about the First Hokage’s passive no-hand-sign healing, right?”

Hakken narrowed his eyes, suddenly figuring out how to bring this stubborn old woman back to Konoha. He smirked, then intentionally revealed her trump card to Kurama right in front of her.

Tsunade completely snapped.

“You brat! Are you a Konoha ninja or a Missing-nin?!”

“What the hell did I ever do to you?!”
