I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 260: Can’t afford

This place looked like it was one of the main markets of the lawless zone. One could buy almost everything that they wanted here.

Of course, most of these were knockoff products that weren’t as good as the original, or their high tier variant, but for the lawless zone, it was more than enough.

There was even a slave market at this place. And the people being sent were mostly not human. If anything, out of the hundreds that were kept in chains on display, only a handful of humans could be seen.

If anything, there were more elves than there were humans here, despite the fact that elves were residents of another high tier planet that was in a similar league as Vitrean.

If the Elven Planet found out about this, it was definitely going to become a huge disaster.

Leo also saw quite a few slaves that were from other high tier planets. Out of the seven high tier planets, he could see almost everyone’s citizens here.

Of course, he didn’t believe that they were some noble bloodline members of those planets. Most of them probably had no backing other than the name of being born on a high tier planet.

Still, it was definitely a dangerous thing if it came to light, since many high tier planets would’ve taken it to their ego to have someone enslave their people.

"These people definitely couldn’t be kidnapped from their own planet. They must have come here on vacation, before being trapped and ending up in the lawless zone."

"It’s either that, or they have contact with slave traders from other planets that help them."

Leo thought that the lawless zone was a backward zone where only the lowest rung of society lived. But he was starting to realize that he might have underestimated this place a little.

This wasn’t a backward society that couldn’t enter the city. Instead, it was the underworld of the main city, so they refused to stay there.

If they wanted, they could easily sneak inside. As for money, would they still worry about it when they could sell weapons and run slave traders of demihumans?

Leo was new on Vitran so he didn’t know anyone other than the people he had seen so far. He didn’t even know the faces of the wealthiest people on this planet.

Still, when he saw a few masked people gathering before the shops, he could feel that they were wealthy.

Most of them were even followed by people that looked like they were guarding them secretly.

These people were definitely the wealthy lords of the main city. Some of them might even be nobles of Vitrean, which made them want to hide their identity.

"I thought he was calling me here to rob me because it will be an empty place. But it certainly looks like it can be a meeting place."

Leo was slightly disappointed at the offer being genuine. He shook his head lightly, and walked across the stalls since he still had some time before the meeting.

He stopped by a few weapons shops, and observed them. The weapons were decent, and were almost at the level of Alpha Lab prototypes.

They were definitely more powerful than the Alpha Labs prototype, but they were a little more unstable and could heat up easily, the problem that Alpha Labs had temporarily solved at the cost of a little power.

The stalls even allowed potential buyers to test the weapons. Leo only watched others test them, and was able to gain a rough understanding.

He then walked over to other stalls. Although rare, there were a few shops that were selling various drugs manufactured across the universe.

Of course, the buyers of these stalls were not many. Wealthy people were more interested in weapons than to have their senses knocked out by drugs.

If they wanted to buy them, they would rather buy from a reputable seller than someone setting a stall. After all, unlike weapons, their efficiency couldn’t be relied on.

Only a rare few people visited these stalls.

There were also a few large tents that were set up amidst the stalls with a few succubus and women from other species standing outside, revealing most of their skin, inviting people inside for some unknown reason.

For a moment, even Leo was tempted. It was the first time he had seen someone from a succubus species.

In fact, he had heard a few stories where people claimed that they would be willing to die if they could spend some private time with a succubus.

Then again, there were also rumors that a succubus could drain someone’s life span. He didn’t know if there was any truth in that, and he didn’t want to find out either.

He quickly walked past the tent, even as a few women brushed their fingers sensually against his arms, trying to invite him.

When he didn’t pay them any attention, their attitude made a simple reversal and he could hear them cursing him, calling him broke. Some even said that he probably wasn’t man enough.

Leo smiled wryly, rubbing his temples. It must be said that the taunts had almost worked, as he thought about showing them if he really was a man or not. After all, was there anything in this place that he couldn’t afford?

In the end, he let out a sigh and still chose to ignore the insults and walked over to another slave trader’s stall.

He had no interest in buying them, or taking part in this. He only wanted to see different species, something he never had a chance to do.

He hadn’t even seen most of these species in images online, let alone in person.

"Young Lord, does a slave catch your eye? If you don’t like any on display, we do have more. We can show you, and the price definitely would be less than other stalls."

"We have everything that you might need, from battle slaves to a bed warming one. All you have to do is select, and they can be yours. They have been thoroughly trained and will follow all others."

Just like the succubus, the sellers here were trying to reel Leo in, almost forcing a sale.

"Hmph, why are you wasting your time on him? Don’t you see that this young man isn’t even hiding his face. It means he definitely isn’t anyone noteworthy. He’s just here to waste time. Shouldn’t you be paying attention to real customers?"

While Leo was about to reject them, a voice came from behind him. When he looked back, he saw a masked man, covered in a lavish coat.

Behind him, there were two guards, each carrying a weapon better than what was on sale here.
