The Strongest Prodigy Doctor

Chapter 539 - 639: The Arrival of the Evil Slaying Elder

Ye Tianfan waited for a long time, nearly falling asleep when he heard a soft shout from outside the tent: "Senior Brother Tianfan, are you resting? Senior Brother Tianfan?"

Upon hearing this voice, Ye Tianfan thought to himself, finally, he's here, making me wait so long. So, he simply waved his hand towards the tent flap.

The tent flap instantly opened at his wave, and Zhou Zimo hurried inside upon seeing it open.

After entering, Zhou Zimo saw Ye Tianfan sitting cross-legged on the bed and knew that Ye Tianfan had been waiting for him for a long time. He hurried forward to apologize.

"I'm very sorry, Senior Brother Tianfan, I came late; I hope you'll forgive me."

"It's no big deal. I had nothing much to do anyway. Actually, you didn't need to come, since it's something you should do regardless." Ye Tianfan sat up from the bed and poured a cup of water for Zhou Zimo.

After accepting the water and expressing his gratitude again, Zhou Zimo left, still apologetic.

The reason for his apology was his awareness of disturbing Ye Tianfan's rest.

After seeing Zhou Zimo off, Ye Tianfan lay back down on the bed, and a sense of soft comfort filled his mind, making him fall asleep.

When Ye Tianfan woke again, it was already the next morning. He hurried to get up, fearing he might be late. After all, he was representing the Taichu Sect, and if he were late, it would imply that a major sect like Taichu Sect, known as the number one righteous path under the heavens, had disciples who couldn't even be punctual, which would be disgraceful.

However, upon anxiously stepping out of the tent, Ye Tianfan found that he was not late, as the sun had just begun to rise.

Seeing this, Ye Tianfan summoned the Freedom Sword and rushed towards the gathering point.

Upon reaching the gathering point, Ye Tianfan found that over half the people were already there, though many were still absent.

Seeing this scene, Ye Tianfan heaved a sigh of relief. Even though there wasn't a specified time, being the only one absent among a fully gathered group would be manageable for a minor sect, but a major sect might attract unwanted labels from those minor sects.

So Ye Tianfan tried his best to avoid being late if he could.

In the crowd, Ye Tianfan spotted Senior Brother Yun Tian and quickly walked over to him, encountering the hastily departing Zhou Zimo from last night along the way. Ye Tianfan smiled at Zhou Zimo, exchanged a few words, and continued towards Senior Brother Yun Tian.

"Why are you a bit late today?" Before Ye Tianfan arrived, Senior Brother Yun Tian was a bit anxious, and as more people arrived, his anxiety grew.

But after Ye Tianfan arrived earlier than some others, Senior Brother Yun Tian felt relieved, though he still wanted to ask what happened.

"Didn't I save a disciple from the Luotian Sect yesterday? His senior brother insisted on thanking me last night, and he only came at midnight, so I slept later." Ye Tianfan explained to Senior Brother Yun Tian, somewhat embarrassed.

Senior Brother Yun Tian nodded after hearing this, then hesitantly asked, "Was it Liu Xiaoye you saved?"

"Hmm?" Ye Tianfan looked at Senior Brother Yun Tian in surprise and asked curiously, "How did you know, Senior Brother Yun Tian?"

Senior Brother Yun Tian smiled and replied, "This matter has spread throughout the camp. Liu Xiaoye knelt the entire night. Now everyone is saying the Luotian Sect leader is too strict, refusing to forgive Liu Xiaoye for coming out early due to insufficient spiritual power, making him kneel all night without forgiveness."

If the Luotian Sect leader were here, he would certainly cry for injustice, as he kept saying he'd forgiven Liu Xiaoye, but Liu Xiaoye was too stubborn to listen, leading to this big misunderstanding.

Ye Tianfan sighed upon hearing this, realizing why Liu Xiaoye was so insistent on staying last night.

Shaking his head, after everyone had arrived, the group set off once more for Copper Gong Town to investigate further.

Meanwhile, practitioners like Yuan Chu continued artifact refining, and formations specialists like Zhen Chu continued crafting array banners.

Ye Tianfan began exploring the other half of his area, finding it troublesome as demons from the first half had all migrated there.

Though these demons were not strong, they were problematic, forcing Ye Tianfan to restore his spiritual power twice before he could complete the exploration of this half.

After concluding his investigation, Ye Tianfan determined that the source of the evil qi wasn't within his area.

The second day passed uneventfully, and on the third day, shortly after Ye Tianfan entered his area, a flaring signal for gathering was sent from the camp.

Ye Tianfan then flew out of Copper Gong Town towards the signal.

However, he had a rough idea of what this signal meant—it probably indicated the arrival of the Evil Slaying Elder; otherwise, they wouldn't have been called back during their investigation.

Upon arriving, Ye Tianfan saw the Evil Slaying Elder indeed had arrived. Observing him closely, Ye Tianfan noted that the old man's hair was white yet his face youthful, with eyes filled with a hatred for evil.

No wonder he was called the Evil Slaying Elder—his eyes alone expressed his deep-seated loathing for evil.

Standing beside the Evil Slaying Elder were Zhen Chu, as well as elders from other sects.

Seeing that everyone had returned, Zhen Chu spoke, his voice not loud, yet clear to every ear: "The Evil Slaying Elder has arrived, so your tasks are now over. Mark any potentially relevant areas on your maps and hand them to me. That's it. Go back and rest well, you've worked hard for three days."

Hearing this, everyone quickly took out their marked maps of their areas from their robes while on the mission.

Everyone then marked and annotated suspect areas on their maps.

Only Ye Tianfan didn't do any marking since he had already confirmed that there was no source or suspicious spots in his area.

After everyone submitted their maps, Ye Tianfan followed suit, and they each returned to their tents to rest.

Ye Tianfan and others knew that a tough battle awaited them, though by then, they wouldn't be the main force—the elders would take that role—but they would still have to assist.
