Chapter 498 - 485: Pregnant?
Qin Yun excitedly patted Pei Yan’s hand, "There’s something!"
Pei Yan nodded, and the two of them looked toward the bushes.
"Rustle, rustle."
The movement inside became more obvious. Qin Yun and Pei Yan exchanged a glance, and Pei Yan shielded Qin Yun behind him, then cautiously and slowly approached the bushes.
The sounds in the bushes grew more intense, but though the creature was struggling, it didn’t change places, as if it was trapped.
Pei Yan carefully parted the bushes, revealing a blood-stained fawn inside.
The fawn was quite young, covered in brown fuzz, its eyes swollen, and tears all around.
Its leg was already broken, with a hunting trap caught on its hoof.
Noticing someone approaching, it let out a sharp cry and struggled even more fiercely.
Seeing the blood, Qin Yun felt her stomach churn, extremely uncomfortable.
Pei Yan checked the situation, then crouched down to press the fawn’s neck, preventing it from struggling.
"It’s a fawn, injured."
He frowned, examining the fawn, without noticing that behind him, Qin Yun had already turned her back, not looking at the fawn.
Qin Yun asked in a muffled voice, "Is it serious?"
Qin Yun no longer felt like eating meat; she just wanted to leave this place. The surrounding scent of blood was strong, making people very uncomfortable.
"Very serious, the leg seems to be broken."
Pei Yan carefully turned the fawn over. The fawn was too weak to struggle anymore, allowing Pei Yan to handle it without much resistance, closing its eyes.
Pei Yan turned around to look at Qin Yun, but all he saw was her back.
Qin Yun waved away the bloody scent in front of her with her hand, pinching her nose with a frown, "Let’s take it back for treatment, we won’t hunt anymore, I don’t want to eat."
Qin Yun found it strange herself, not knowing why she recently couldn’t bear to look at bloody scenes. She was never like this before; as long as something was edible, she never picked and chose.
"What’s wrong?"
Pei Yan’s expression turned worried. He was about to let go of the fawn and walk toward Qin Yun, but the fawn suddenly convulsed and fainted.
Qin Yun shook her head repeatedly, "I’m fine. Shall we take it back to find someone to look at it?"
Pei Yan nodded, being careful not to touch the little one’s broken leg, and held it in his arms.
This time, Qin Yun walked ahead without even looking back at the fawn once.
When they returned to the trap location, Xiao Hu came up immediately, "What happened?"
Pei Yan appeared covered in blood, startling Xiao Hu and the staff.
The two hurried over, anxiously looking at Pei Yan.
But Pei Yan shook his head, "I’m fine, the fawn is injured."
"Injured?"
"Yes, is there a veterinarian nearby? Can we bring them over to check?"
Pei Yan looked toward the staff, who immediately nodded and took out their phone to contact a veterinarian.
"There’s one at the villa. I’ll give them a call to come down and treat it."
"Yes, please try to make it quick. It’s been hurt for a long time, we don’t know if it can be saved."
"Let’s send it down first."
The staff contacted a vehicle and found someone to bring the fawn down promptly.
Meanwhile, Pei Yan, wearing bloodstained clothes, couldn’t stay any longer and had to go down with the vehicle. Qin Yun and Xiao Hu returned to Li Ning and Bai Ziyu’s location to help with the net.
Their livestream chat was full of question marks.
[???]
[????]
[What are they doing? Finally encountered an injured fawn, and they don’t intend to eat it, just sending it for treatment?]
[Aren’t they going to eat the fawn? Not eating it? Not eating it?]
[I think Yunyun seems a bit off. Yesterday, seeing fish being killed made her uncomfortable, and today seeing an injured fawn also made her uneasy. Could she be unwell?]
[The way you put it, it’s almost like she’s pregnant?]
[Nonsense, Yunyun isn’t even married. How could she have kids? I won’t allow it!!]
[You’re too naive, just because it’s not public doesn’t mean they aren’t married. The entertainment circle is so murky; who knows what’s true and what’s false?]
[Now you’re worrying me, is Yunyun really expecting?]
[First tell us whose it is, then I’ll consider advising a breakup.]
[Wow, your imagination is huge. It’s normal for girls to avoid bloody scenes, okay?]
[Exactly, why make a fuss?]
[The way you make it sound, is the baby going to be born tomorrow?]
[Can’t you just enjoy the livestream without making up baseless plots to grab attention, OK?]
Fans quickly shifted their attention, as this was Qin Yun’s first stumble.
Every time she was confident about something, she did it successfully and beautifully.
But this time, not only was there no game, but not even a single hair of game.
Very strange!!
However, after Pei Yan left, the three caught quite a number of rabbits and wild chickens with their nets, quite a substantial amount, exceeding the task target.
The group put the catch in cages, preparing to go down the mountain. Just a short walk from the hunting ground, they saw members of Group B each carrying a vegetable basket, looking everywhere for black truffles, but the results seemed poor.
Except for Xiaoxiao’s basket with seven or eight, the other’s baskets held only one or two.
The staff leading the way couldn’t help but laugh.
Xiaoxiao sighed softly, "Laugh if you want."
Indeed, the staff burst out laughing, unable to straighten up.
"Sorry, I just couldn’t hold back. You’re really unlucky, not finding even one."
The staff pointed to Jingjing’s basket; she hadn’t found a single one.
Qin Yun glanced over, seeing Jingjing’s face so embarrassed it could drip water.
Fortunately, Zhao Lan helped her out of the situation, making her expression a bit better.
Qin Yun didn’t say anything, but Jingjing inadvertently glared at Qin Yun.
The cameras didn’t catch it, but Qin Yun saw it.
She did it on purpose.
Qin Yun raised an eyebrow, wondering why someone with bad luck would glare at her? It’s not like she caused it.
However, being so kind, she wouldn’t rub salt in the wound. She smiled and said, "It’s alright, Jingjing, try looking a bit ahead, maybe you’ll find a lot of truffles soon."
She pointed forward, and the staff nodded, "Yes, there are usually many truffles in that direction, let’s go check it out."
Group B followed the staff and continued forward.
Li Ning curiously asked, "Sister Yun, how did you know there would be truffles ahead?"
Qin Yun looked innocent, shaking her head and whispering, "Of course I didn’t know, I just pointed randomly."
Li Ning was momentarily stunned, then slyly gave Qin Yun a thumbs up, "Awesome."
The group continued back, reaching Phoenix Mountain Villa where Old Xu and Su Yu were at the entrance having tea waiting for them.
Su Yu beckoned them over, "How did it go?"
"We caught some small animals."
