Re: Player 2: At the Edge of Two Realities

Chapter 26: [End of the Line]

So, I have tried.

Well... will it be called trying when I have mostly found out what I was trying to find out? I mean, it did not result in anything impressive, but not like I was aiming for anything extraordinary this time either.

I guess so?

Sharing the information with Vladmir, and a few more demons, resulted in that red demonic primordial descending upon the land.

Opposite to that, the Yellow Angelic Primordial came when I shared my memories with the angels.

For humans like Linc, and a few more, it was the same White Primordial Lady. The Deep blue Primordial for Sea-Folkes, and the Light Blue one for Monsters, or races like that of Nvida that are born out of nature.

For Elves and Dwarfs, it was green, while for the Witches it was the purple Primordial.

"That makes it 7 Primordials in total. Leaving aside Enchantress, who did not appear even once, adding to the fact that there are only 10 Primordials, there are only two that I didn’t meet, huh?" I pondered as I took a sip of orange juice while lying on the comfy mattress.

In a way, this whole thing was odd.

I had barely done about a dozen races and I was close to meeting all the Primordials out there. I mean, there were still Giants, Gods, Dragons, Heaven Guardians, Hell Guardians, Titans, other Fate Weavers, special races like that of Luciana, smaller races such as Fairies and Pixies, and even the Players themselves.

How would the Primordials divide those races? Or is there any race that they don’t monitor? Or perhaps there are races that are monitored by more than one Primordial?

Anyway.

While finding out about the other races and their connection with their respective primordials was indeed important, I decided to keep it as homework to be done later, especially for the time when I would meet those other races.

As for now... finding out about the primordial that rules over the players, if any, was more important than any other piece of news I can get.

It could either be a Primordial that I haven’t met, or the white lady Primordial that administers over humans, or perhaps none at all. Finding out which one of them is the correct answer would help me shape the future path I am going to take regarding this Doctor scenario.

"Either way, it’s going to be a hard path with them being so nosy into my business," I sighed as I cracked my fingers before preparing to leave to the nearest player that I can check on to confirm my hypothesis.

Stepping off the resting bench, I got out of the weapon shop first. Then, made my path towards the guild area. On my way, I bought an apple-like fruit from the vendor, taking a ripe bite out of it before reaching outside the guild area and observing the curious players around me.

Given the identity of Falcon, I was already famous for being a named NPC. A few minutes of waiting and a group of players started flocking around me, slowly, with anticipation in their eyes. Though they spoke nothing, their sheepish smiles showed their eagerness. It made me smile recalling my gaming days before I waved at them, calling them closer to me.

"Excuse me, can you guys help me out with an errand?" I asked politely, to which these poor lambs immediately nodded. Their eyes glimmered with excitement as I continued,

"Actually, I can’t explain it to you by word of mouth since anyone else can find out. But will it be all right if I were to share some of my memories with you?"

To which they nodded again without putting much thought into it.

Amusing.

Despite all the warnings from the game and the whole thing with the news, I guess there will always be people with zero survival skills. At least I would stay away from anything related to the mental aspect of the game.

I thought, a bit amused, before I patted their head, transferring my memories to them.

As the memory transfer began and ended, I saw the smiling faces of the kids turning into excruciatingly painful ones. They fell on the ground, barely able to hold themselves, rolling and cursing, their eyes glaring at me.

There wasn’t much in those memories, except a few normal things that were going to happen in the next month or so. Similar to what I had shared with all the members of all the other races.

Nothing yet, huh?

I noticed the surroundings that did not have any apparent changes in them. It made me happy a bit, hopeful a little, before I moved closer to heal the players.

"Apologies, the process of memory transfer can be a bit of pain-inducing. I should have explained that in advance."

Seems like the Primordials aren’t connect-

-BOOOM!!!!

And I thought too soon...

A few hundred meters away from me stood a guy in brown. Wearing glasses of similar fashion, he looked akin to a cozy librarian who held infinite wisdom in his mind. Though betraying the whole look was his expression, his narrowed eyes, and the face that screamed to devour everything that I knew. Trying to understand my intentions over and over again. Hoping to understand my powers... questioning their very existence.

Or so it seemed.

Should I try talking to them?

I thought first trying to see if there was something I could gain from these exchanges that I was just about to make. But on second thought, I decided not to. I did not know their power limits, and if they could somehow capture me and torture me for ages, I wouldn’t be able to escape for... perhaps forever.

It was impossible to share memories directly. Well, not impossible, but at least out of my capability based on my current knowledge pool.

It seems doing it manually is the only way out of this.

A sigh escaped my mouth as I felt irritation regarding the primordials being too nosy into my work.

Can’t they just sit quietly and observe?

Whatever.

Since there was little I could do with this whole situation, I was back to square one with Encerid for now. But despite what I said and believed, there was still a small idea that I had which I wanted to test.

Up until now, I had been transferring my own memories into the receiver’s brain. Things that I had seen or felt, even if mundane, were my recollection of images that I had transferred.

So for once, I wanted to try transferring the memories of the receiver back to him. I did not know if it would cause anything positive, but there wasn’t any harm in trying, or at least none that I seemed to have noticed. In this case, getting Encerid’s help wasn’t hard.

That R-Man trick did wonders as Encerid, though still sceptical and dubious, decided to believe me and follow my instructions.

Taking his memories and storing them into the array, I used [Return] once again before redoing the whole thing until I met Encerid. And once there, I transferred his own memories back to him before patiently waiting for the result.

A few seconds later.

"So. Do you feel anything?" I asked curiously.
