It took him quite a while to find the pattern behind the lighting changes.
The lighting pattern was tied to the observer, the observer's movement route, observation time, and the apartment building itself. Even for Lin Ye, figuring out the exact rules in such a short time was incredibly difficult, but he managed to find a method that would allow him to safely enter an apartment building.
All he needed was to find a completely darkened building, and he could enter through the stairwell entrance.
Lin Ye began circling the residential complex. It took him another half hour before he stopped outside the entrance to Unit 1 of Building 1.
The entire building was pitch-black. Lin Ye entered the apartment building. This time, the corridor's motion-sensor lights didn't turn on, and the entrance didn't swallow him up.
Moving slowly upward through the dark stairwell, Lin Ye had no light to guide him. He could only rely on his mental simulation of the building's structure to step by step make his way toward the rooftop.
He didn't actually know what had happened in this residential complex, nor did he understand what these apartment buildings were. But if he wanted to resolve the abnormal incident here, he had to first understand this area.
