Chapter 463: Forced Escape
"Arriving soon, please wait."
The Captain reported the situation here to his superiors.
The Divine Principles Bureau had been searching for stable channels to obtain Alien Deity flesh, but even the Alien Deities cooperating with the Bureau wouldn't provide their flesh for free.
While cleaning up the Mud Creatures, Lin Ye considered the possibility of promoting the Red Frog in this Plane. He certainly wouldn't do business at a loss. Those Alien Deities could obtain the mental energy of people implanted with their flesh after their deaths. Lin Ye, with his higher technical level, could naturally achieve similar things. He was just considering whether doing so would have negative effects on his mental state.
'Seems like there's no problem. I can first store the obtained mental energy, then process it bit by bit later. If it really doesn't work, I can also use it for other purposes.'
Lin Ye carefully considered every detail of each step. Only after thoroughly thinking it through would he cooperate with the Divine Principles Bureau to promote the Red Frog on a large scale.
'The problem is the storage method for free-floating mental energy... Perhaps I can cooperate with her... She wouldn't have deliberately sent me here and lied to me about it being a random teleport, would she?'
Lin Ye thought somewhat uncertainly. He couldn't quite see through the young girl's thoughts.
Lin Ye didn't have to wait long before the Divine Principles Bureau delivered Director An to the edge of the urban area. Accompanying Director An were also two squads composed of young people.
Director An directly knelt before Xiao An, weeping bitterly and apologizing to her. "Xiao An, I'm sorry. The Divine Principles Bureau needs Alien Deity flesh. During the transaction with those cultists, they demanded I offer a relative as a sacrificial offering. It was also for humanity's future that I painfully offered you to their deity. I've been in agony ever since. Kill me!"
Director An forcefully slammed his head against the ground, his blood soaking the earth.
"Okay."
Xiao An used the fingers Lin Ye had reattached for her to pierce through Director An's heart. This was her first time killing someone, and it was her own father, but she didn't feel anything particularly special. Probably killing a small animal would be harder for her to accept than this.
"You... why?"
Director An uttered a desperate question. He hadn't expected An Ran to hesitate not in the slightest.
"Because it's the right thing to do."
Xiao An suddenly understood what Lin Ye had said before. She had to do this; otherwise, she couldn't even forgive herself.
"This is letting him off too easily. Can I make use of this waste?"
A large number of Red Frogs jumped near Director An, looking at him with their ginger-yellow, horizontally striped eyes, emitting low croaks.
"Naturally."
Xiao An suddenly laughed. She didn't know why she wanted to laugh either; it was probably her body's spontaneous reaction.
The Red Frogs eagerly shot out their tongues, tearing Director An's body apart bit by bit as if performing a sacrificial ritual. Only after losing all his organs did Director An wail and permanently lose consciousness.
Lin Ye handed a document to Xiao An. It was information about Director An from the Divine Principles Bureau, detailing records about Xiao An.
Including that her mother was merely Director An's mistress. Director An had simply found it troublesome and successively handed her mother and then her over to those cultists to deal with. There was no particularly special reason behind it.
Director An had many mistresses, most of whom he grew tired of playing with before handing over to the cultists.
Xiao An's mother was the less troublesome kind for Director An, which was why Xiao An had survived until now.
"Alien Deity, I regret it. I shouldn't have let him die so easily."
Xiao An seemed to have figured some things out. She was no longer taciturn, and her expressions became slightly richer.
"Don't think about unnecessary things. Right now, you only need to enjoy the joy of revenge."
Lin Ye patted Xiao An's head with his claw. Not considering unnecessary things when in a pleasant mood was one of his life philosophies.
"Alien Deity, can you help them transplant Alien Deity flesh?"
The Captain pointed at those young people and said.
"Possible. But they must be willing. Otherwise, I will terminate my cooperation with you."
Lin Ye stared at the Captain and spoke.
"Of course. They are all members of the Divine Principles Bureau's reserve squads. Their purpose for joining the squads is to transplant Alien Deity flesh. This is also their wish."
The Captain said with a serious expression.
"Very good."
Lin Ye glanced at those young people. Seeing they showed no intention of backing down, he controlled the Red Frogs to merge into their bodies.
These young people had excellent physical constitutions and quickly adapted to the bodily transformations originating from the Red Frogs.
After completing the Alien Deity flesh transplants, the Captain sent people to pull these young people back to the Divine Principles Bureau. As long as no problems were found with this batch of young people, the Divine Principles Bureau would establish a deeper cooperative relationship with this Alien Deity.
Lin Ye began adjusting the Red Frog's structure. Initially, he just wanted to create a relatively useful biological weapon. He never intended to make the Red Frog into material for Alien Deity rituals, nor did he plan to use Red Frogs to collect mental energy.
But this wasn't too big a problem. With only minor adjustments, the Red Frog could adapt to new functions.
The Red Frog was originally the basic version of this biological weapon, somewhat similar to a basic multi-functional weapon platform. Just by inserting new plug-ins, entirely new versions could be created.
After transmitting information about Lin Ye to Headquarters, this city quickly received support from Headquarters. Some Alien Deity Emissaries appeared at the city's edge, rapidly cleaning up those Mud Creatures.
However, Headquarters didn't immediately begin cooperating with Lin Ye. Instead, they established an experimental pilot site in this city to study the various characteristics of this Alien Deity flesh, the Red Frog.
Lin Ye had no objections to this at all. Temporarily, he didn't need free-floating mental energy either. This was a long-term storage process.
Just as Lin Ye was casually chatting with the researchers sent by Headquarters, his consciousness was suddenly forcibly pulled back into the mental world.
The mental world was still pitch black. What puzzled Lin Ye was that there wasn't even a single Consciousness around. He had thought he'd be surrounded and beaten by enemies as soon as he arrived here.
'Is this some kind of technology that forcibly returns one to the mental world? And the return location is likely random.'
Lin Ye didn't believe those Consciousnesses wouldn't dare face him. Probably the other side couldn't teleport him to a specific location either.
"This is a bit troublesome. Those Consciousnesses wouldn't be planning to ambush my body, would they?"
Losing the rat's body wasn't a big deal for Lin Ye, but if the body was destroyed, it would be difficult for Lin Ye to re-enter that Plane.
Lin Ye closed his eyes, trying to connect to that Plane. But this kind of mental positioning required cooperation from mental willpower, something neither the rat nor the Red Frogs could achieve.
Just as Lin Ye was mourning his body, a small piece of mental energy appeared before him. Lin Ye swallowed the mental energy cluster in one bite. Soon, he could perceive that Plane again.
