Chapter 458: Escape from the Outpost
"No need. I'll rescue you first, and you can give it to me afterwards."
Lin Ye didn't need any contracts. If the other party broke their word, he would naturally make them pay a much heavier price.
The other sacrificial offerings also hurriedly made various promises to Lin Ye. If things continued this way, they would only have one outcome left. Right now, Lin Ye was their only hope.
"Remember what you've said."
Lin Ye stood up and walked out of the cell. The young girl panicked and reached out her hand, but didn't dare to grab Lin Ye.
"Don't worry, I'll be back soon."
Lin Ye walked toward the prison exit. He had already sensed the entire building earlier. There were no powerful individuals here, only some cultists who had fused with Alienated flesh and blood. Dealing with them might be a bit troublesome.
This world's combat system leaned more towards rituals and physical modifications. However, for an experienced veteran like Lin Ye, these flashy combat systems wouldn't pose any problem for him.
Moreover, he had another advantage: he was currently just a rat, and no one pays attention to a rat that looks very ordinary.
Lin Ye crawled through the cultist base just like a real rat. Those cultists didn't notice Lin Ye at all. And he only needed to make some simple modifications inside those cultists' bodies to easily eliminate them, without even having to fight them head-on.
After resolving the issue with the Bottomless Pit, Lin Ye learned some techniques related to ambushes from Teacher Bessie. Now was the perfect opportunity to put them into practice.
It only took a little over ten minutes for Lin Ye to traverse the entire cultist base and modify the body structures of all the cultists inside.
This was the downside of physical Alienation. Mutation Creatures' control over their own bodies plummeted drastically. They didn't even know when the internal structure of their bodies had been altered by someone else.
Lin Ye raised his upper body and walked openly through the base. Screams erupted all around him. Those cultists who had implanted Alienated flesh and blood all lost control and began frantically attacking their companions nearby.
At the dungeon entrance, the door-guarding cultist noticed the commotion outside, but it didn't dare to go out and investigate. Instead, it fled into the dungeon and locked the large door.
Lin Ye slipped through the gap in the dungeon's large door. Everything inside the base was under his control.
At this moment, the guard also noticed Lin Ye, this strange rat. Remembering what that crazy woman had said, it finally pieced together what had happened.
The guard immediately prostrated itself and knelt before Lin Ye. It absolutely didn't dare to confront an Alien Deity, even if the other party looked like just a rat.
"Follow me. As long as you obey, I'll give you a chance to live."
Lin Ye walked deeper into the dungeon. The cultist hesitated for a moment, but ultimately followed behind Lin Ye.
The sacrificial offerings in the dungeon also heard the commotion from above. They looked at the corridor with nervousness and anticipation, afraid that a monster would come running in.
When they saw Lin Ye and the cultist behind him, they couldn't immediately comprehend why this combination was appearing.
"You must really want to perform the Alien Deity ritual, right? Now I will fulfill your dream... in the form of a sacrificial offering.
My friend needs some body parts. If you can give me the parts she needs, I'll spare your life."
Lin Ye said calmly.
That cultist clearly never expected that one day it would also become a sacrificial offering for a ritual. It could easily gouge out others' eyes, but lacked the courage to do the same to itself.
The cultist lunged fiercely at Lin Ye. Since it didn't dare to act against itself, this was the only path left for it.
"Be careful. Your body no longer belongs to you. Enjoy it. This is the Alien Deity ritual you were so eagerly anticipating."
A thin layer of spiritual energy shield appeared in front of the cultist, blocking its movement. It wanted to continue resisting but found it had already lost control of its body.
Its tongue, eyes, fingers, and some internal organs detached from its body like living creatures, happily scurrying over to the young girl's side and seamlessly merging into her body.
In the cell diagonally opposite, the young man watched this scene with disbelief. He had some understanding of Alien Deities. 'Deity' was an honorific title for powerful beings, while 'Alien' represented the nature of these deities.
Ordinary Alien Deities couldn't accomplish what Lin Ye was doing. In the young man's view, Lin Ye's methods were almost like those of a true deity.
Lin Ye wasn't performing the so-called Alien Deity ritual, but he could completely achieve similar things, and do them far better than those Alien Deities.
The young girl looked around in a daze. She never imagined she would ever see again.
"...Thank you... very... much..."
The young girl struggled to squeeze out a few words. She hadn't yet adapted to her new tongue.
"What's your name?"
Lin Ye jumped onto the young girl's head and casually used spiritual energy to unlock the doors of the other cells.
However, those sacrificial offerings didn't dare to leave their cells. They were afraid there were other cultists outside.
Only that young man stepped out of his cell and stood respectfully beside the young girl.
"Xiao An."
The young girl gave a name that sounded somewhat like a nickname.
"Xiao An, this place should only be one of those cultists' bases. To prevent other cultists from noticing something is wrong, we'd better leave here as soon as possible."
Lin Ye tugged on Xiao An's hair, steering her to walk outward as if controlling a steering wheel.
Xiao An was very smart. She followed Lin Ye's instructions and quickly left the cell, heading for the dungeon exit.
The young man followed behind Xiao An. Some of the more sensible sacrificial offerings closely followed the young man, but there were still some who remained in their cells, not daring to leave.
They thought that since they had already paid, the Alien Deity wouldn't leave them here.
But they had no idea that Lin Ye almost never made choices for others. They had to choose for themselves whether to leave this place or not.
Xiao An and the others left the dungeon and found the base was covered in bloodstains and chunks of corpses. The remains bore traces of biting and tearing, like leftover scraps from a meal.
As they passed by, those chunks of flesh Alienated into red-and-white hopping frogs, bouncing along behind them.
Two Red Frogs hopped onto Xiao An's shoulders. They occasionally emitted low croaking sounds.
Under Lin Ye's control, Xiao An quickly found the base exit, but there stood a monster covered in Flesh Spikes.
The monster also spotted Xiao An and the others. Excited, it charged at Xiao An with a starting speed of ten meters per second, the Spikes on its body ready to strike.
Then the monster tripped. Its left foot caught on its right foot. The tumbling, scrambling monster crashed into a layer of spiritual energy shield.
Before the monster could get back up, its head was pulverized into a bloody mist.
Lin Ye really wanted to control this monster and put it to work for him. Unfortunately, the monster's body contained some implanted Alienated flesh and blood imbued with the Alien Deity's Consciousness. To avoid attracting the attention of that giant spiritual entity, he didn't act recklessly.
