Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Chapter 432: Safety Elevator

Under Lin Ye's control, the Chessboard smoothly approached that Shadow. Upon getting closer, they discovered it was an elevator platform floating in midair. The elevator shaft leading downward had disappeared, leaving only the platform and an elevator going upward.

All anomalous phenomena and floor space fragments were piled beneath the platform, as if an invisible boundary prevented those things from passing through.

"Is this the exit?"

Andrew asked somewhat uncertainly.

"Hard to say."

Bessie didn't think the exit would be so ordinary.

"Take a look up there and we'll know."

Lin Ye controlled the Chessboard to climb onto the platform. The Chessboard ascended onto the platform smoothly without encountering any obstacles.

Afterwards, Lin Ye began processing the various chess pieces on the Chessboard.

First were the pieces generated by the runes and Rule Fragments. Even now, Lin Ye still didn't know the function of the piece generated by the Fate Rule Fragment. The Metal Giant piece was disassembled by him and stuffed into the item space containing the Heavy Armor. The shrunken blood-colored longsword and the core part of the parasitic plant were stored in his small bag.

Additionally, some parasitized anomalous phenomena remained on the Chessboard, all of which Lin Ye collected into his item space.

The Chessboard and the black Glowing Sphere were not actually under his control, especially the Chessboard. Carrying it was equivalent to carrying that dark green passageway.

After storing the pieces, Lin Ye controlled the Chessboard to carry the black Glowing Sphere and the dark green passageway back beneath the platform.

The three entered the enclosed elevator going upward. There were no buttons inside. The elevator doors opened and closed automatically, and the elevator operated on its own, requiring no input from them whatsoever.

"...What if it's still an elevator lobby after the doors open?"

Bessie couldn't help but ask.

"Then we take the elevator and keep going up."

Lin Ye had just finished speaking when the elevator began to decelerate. A few seconds later, the elevator doors opened automatically.

Outside was a ten-meter-high Flesh Wall covered with beast heads.

Bessie warily looked at the Flesh Wall. She hadn't expected the thing outside the elevator to look even worse than an elevator lobby.

Andrew, however, breathed a sigh of relief.

"We're finally back. I actually feel a sense of familiarity seeing this thing."

Andrew sighed with emotion.

"Huh? This is something from your world? Is it too late for me to go back now?"

Bessie felt the area below might be safer.

"This is deep within the Bottomless Pit. It gets much more normal once we go up."

Andrew was in a good mood and casually explained.

Lin Ye observed the fused flesh wall. It did not replicate them, nor did it turn them into beasts. Apart from its appearance, the fused flesh wall showed no signs of danger.

But Lin Ye wouldn't let his guard down. He cautiously stepped out of the elevator. The fused flesh wall showed no change.

Even after they left the Pasture area, the fused flesh wall showed no reaction whatsoever.

'...This doesn't feel right.'

Although he had a bad feeling, Lin Ye didn't do anything unnecessary. His current condition was only average, and he needed to rest for a while.

During the time Lin Ye and Andrew were away, this area had risen further and was now near the depth of nineteen hundred meters.

The three smoothly returned to the surface and found the sports car they had driven earlier outside the jungle.

Andrew drove again. Lin Ye sat in the back and got in touch with Raymond.

"You're finally back! Did you find a way to get down there?"

Seeing that Lin Ye was unharmed, Raymond asked very happily.

"You should have told me there was an elevator in the Pasture area. If we'd known there was an elevator there, we would have returned much earlier."

Lin Ye tested the waters with this statement.

"Elevator? What's that?"

Raymond asked, puzzled.

Lin Ye roughly recounted their experiences after going down. He didn't actually think Raymond knew about the elevator; he just wanted to confirm when the elevator had appeared.

"That elevator probably wasn't originally there. It appeared after you rode it. Otherwise, our people couldn't have missed such important information."

Raymond stated with great certainty.

"That is indeed possible. Now you can send people down via the elevator. Those anomalous phenomena don't seem to cross that elevator platform... However, I left a very dangerous Chessboard beneath the platform. You'd better tell those going down to be careful."

Lin Ye offered a reminder. That Chessboard seemed capable of producing various pieces related to rules. The dark green passageway likely wasn't its limit.

"Don't worry, we have many experts here who deal with anomalous phenomena."

Raymond said with a laugh.

After all, he wasn't the one going down.

"Better hope so. If the things inside all escape, forget Free City, the entire world would be finished."

Lin Ye really didn't want to see that scene, because he might not be able to escape either.

"Relax, Free City isn't so easily destroyed. Now that we know where the problem lies, we just need to solve it."

Raymond said confidently.

"Then it's up to you."

Lin Ye sincerely hoped Raymond and his people could solve the problem.

He was just here to make money, not to do extra work.

By the time the sports car entered Free City, the first wave of scouts had already set out. Efficiency was never an issue when these major powers were willing to act.

"Goodbye, and thank you so much this time."

Andrew parked the sports car outside the abandoned clubhouse and bid farewell to Lin Ye.

"No need to thank me. See you next time."

Lin Ye got out of the sports car. Bessie Pro and Bessie, who was holding the duplicate, also got out.

"You're coming with me?"

Lin Ye pushed open the clubhouse's large door and turned to ask.

"Please take me in. I can be very useful."

While in the sports car, Bessie had been observing this city called Free City. She felt the city was full of dangerous places. In some ways, it was more dangerous than the area below.

"You're quite clever. Alright then. But following me means helping me with work. I'm quite short on people here."

Lin Ye had originally intended to warn Bessie, but he hadn't expected her perception to be so sharp.

Although Bessie's abilities were good, as a survivor from the depths of the Bottomless Pit, all the major powers would be interested in her. No matter how many tricks she had, she couldn't outplay those powers. She would eventually be captured, and her final outcome would inevitably be miserable.

"Received!"

Bessie stepped forward to help Lin Ye push open the door.

"Mmm, very good."

Lin Ye entered the clubhouse. Earlier in the sports car, he had contacted Maggie. During his absence, nothing had happened here at the clubhouse. The card business was still booming.

Perhaps considering the importance of the Parasitic Cards, those major powers hadn't taken the opportunity to move against these young people.

Lin Ye greeted Maggie and the others, introduced Bessie and Bessie Pro to them, and then returned to his room. He planned to rest for a while and finish reading the books he had borrowed earlier.
