Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Chapter 425: End of the corridor

Lin Ye focused intently on studying various mutation structures. The further they went, the more complex the mutation structures of the mutation organs inside the laboratories became.

They had already passed through the area displaying mid-tier mutation organs and entered the zone showcasing high-tier mutation organs.

The consumption rate for mutation organs here had also increased. If not for Bessie Pro continuously generating mutation organs, they would have had to slow down their movement speed by now.

"I never expected there to be so many high-tier mutation organs here. Could there possibly be mutation organs of even higher tiers further ahead?"

Lin Ye said with a hint of excitement.

"If there truly are mutation organs of higher tiers, I may be unable to provide the consumed mutation organs in time. Should we prepare a sufficient stock of mutation organs in advance?"

Bessie Pro asked.

"No need to prepare too much. We can stop at any time, and besides, I don't carry that much base material on me."

The proliferation of biological samples wasn't without cost either;

Lin Ye needed to provide it with sufficient base materials.

"Alright... Can we use the material beside us?" Bessie Pro asked.

"No... It seems you don't really like her."

Lin Ye glanced at Bessie Pro. This was his first time creating something like this, and he didn't know where the issue lay.

"No, this has nothing to do with liking or disliking."

Bessie Pro replied.

"So, you're saying you like me?"

Bessie pulled the duplicate closer.

"I want to make you a part of my body. Is that considered liking?"

Bessie Pro countered.

"Uh... A heavy kind of love?"

Bessie increased the distance between them again.

The three continued forward. Lin Ye discovered that the mutation structures of these high-tier mutation organs shared many similarities, seemingly originating from the same group.

"1782, 1802... These mutation organs seem to come from different individuals. That means at least nearly two thousand high-level spiritual energy users died here..."

Lin Ye couldn't help but sigh. All the high-level spiritual energy users he had ever seen added up didn't even reach a hundred.

Now, seeing mutation organs left behind by two thousand high-level spiritual energy users at once, this could be considered broadening his horizons.

Suddenly, the three of them stopped simultaneously. Only the duplicate kept walking forward with a foolish grin. Bessie pulled the duplicate back, making it march in place.

"What is that... Such a terrifying feeling..."

Bessie said nervously.

"Of course, it's a mutation organ. It seems high-tier mutation organs aren't the limit of this corridor."

Lin Ye also sensed that dreadful aura.

"It should be the mutation organ of a particularly powerful individual. I never expected a powerhouse of that tier to also die here."

Bessie Pro walked at the front. It wasn't judged as a normal living being by this place, so walking forward alone didn't consume mutation organs.

Lin Ye and Bessie followed behind it. Lin Ye didn't miss the mutation organs on either side of the corridor. Every mutation organ here had its unique features, likely the most important part of its original owner.

A turn appeared ahead;

that aura was coming from beyond it.

After rounding the corner, the three discovered changes in the laboratories ahead. These laboratories each contained only one mutation organ. Even Bessie could see the difference between these mutation organs and the previous ones.

"These should be mutation organs from tenth-tier beings."

Bessie Pro stood before the glass window, admiring the mutation structures inside. It couldn't actually understand the meaning of those structures, but it could sense a kind of astonishing beauty from them.

Lin Ye also couldn't comprehend the mutation structures within these mutation organs. He could only force himself to memorize the material and form of these mutation structures. It was a pity he couldn't peruse the research materials beside them;

the laboratories here were certainly more dangerous.

The three continued forward. The mutation organs ahead were even more complex. Lin Ye couldn't even perceive the deep structures of these mutation organs, even though they were unconscious, merely parts of corpses.

"...Did that hand just move? I remember it was spread open before... I must have remembered wrong."

Bessie stood in the middle of the corridor, the position simultaneously farthest from the laboratories on both sides.

"You didn't see wrong. These mutation organs still retain some biological activity. But don't worry, they're ultimately just corpse fragments. As long as you don't open the laboratory doors, there shouldn't be a problem."

Lin Ye observed the mutation organs inside the laboratories. Since he couldn't learn their mutation structures, he could only appreciate their surface structures.

"This should be a mutation organ of a Controller. I never thought I'd see the corpse fragments of a Controller here before actually meeting one."

Lin Ye had also encountered some powerhouses, but those were beings close to deities. He hadn't seen anyone he could definitively identify as a Controller.

"There's another turn ahead... Could there be mutation organs of even higher tiers there? Will there really be no problem if we go further?"

Bessie asked nervously.

She stood in the middle of the corridor like walking a tightrope, not daring to lean to either side.

Lin Ye didn't answer because he didn't know either.

"Don't just go silent! That's way too scary!"

Bessie muttered softly.

The three rounded the corner and stopped once more.

Ahead was no longer the spotlessly clean Pure White Corridor. A layer of golden powder covered the corridor's surface. The laboratories on both sides were densely packed with mutation structures. Various bizarrely shaped mutation structures crowded inside, slowly undulating like breathing.

Incomprehensible whispers sounded in their ears, low voices as if trying to drag them deep into hell.

Bessie Pro quickly pulled Bessie and Lin Ye through the corridor. It didn't let the two come into contact with the golden powder on the ground. This golden powder seemed to have grown onto the floor, not moving with contact.

The entire section had only four laboratories, all crammed with mutation organs from different systems.

Lin Ye stared mesmerized at the mutation structures inside. He couldn't understand these mutation structures at all, couldn't even record them. This had already exceeded the scope of his abilities.

These things could no longer be called mutation structures;

they were something closer to conceptual existence.

Another new turn appeared ahead. Bessie Pro struggled to pull them forward slowly. The consumption rate for mutation organs here was almost exceeding its tolerance limit.

"Stop before the turn. Convert all remaining base materials into reserve mutation organs... It's time for us to go pay homage to the deity."

Lin Ye struggled to concentrate his mind, resisting the 'mutation structures' displayed before him.

The corridor section ahead was even more dangerous. Even if it was just a fragment of a deity, it wasn't something they could withstand.

"Conversion complete. Are you sure you don't want me to convert that material into a mutation organ as well? Reducing one burden would increase your survival rate."

The dark tubular tip inserted into Bessie's body contracted slightly, pulling her closer to Bessie Pro.

"No need. It's just a deity fragment. It's not my first time interacting with a deity."

For Lin Ye, compared to deities, Controllers were rarer.
