Chapter 308: Internship Course
After everyone had finished unloading their luggage, Lin Ye led the team away from the hotel.
"Teacher, where are we going to eat?"
Internship squad vice-captain Shen Yue moved closer to Lin Ye and asked with a cheeky grin.
"Let's walk around first to scout the area and see if there are any restaurants that immediately catch our eye."
Lin Ye led the way from the front, having already memorized the town's general layout during the car ride earlier.
The town wasn't very large, with many night market stalls lining the streets, though they weren't open for business yet.
The roadside restaurants were filled with many out-of-town guests, and there were even some foreigners with blond hair and blue eyes.
"It's so lively here. Is this small town really that famous?"
Internship squad captain Liu Yawen followed behind Lin Ye, occasionally turning back to check on the students' situation.
"There must be some kind of event about to happen. There are too many people here, and eating at a restaurant would mean waiting forever. How about we go to that supermarket over there to buy some ingredients and have a picnic outside afterwards?" Lin Ye turned and spoke to the students behind him.
"Sounds good! I've never been to a picnic before."
"Seems much more fun than eating at a restaurant!"
"I want grilled chicken wings."
"Grilled mushrooms are delicious too."
"Never thought we'd have a picnic before starting our internship course."

The students all entered the supermarket to pick their preferred ingredients. Lin Ye called out to Shen Yue just as he was about to enter.
"Shen Yue, go back to the hotel and ask Master Li to bring the bus over. Afterwards, we'll head directly out for the internship. Do you have any ingredients you'd like me to pick up for you?"
Lin Ye said with a smile.
"Anything meat is fine, I don't like vegetables... I'll go right now."
Shen Yue glanced at the supermarket before turning and heading toward the hotel.
Seeing Shen Yue leave, Lin Ye also entered the supermarket to select some ingredients he liked.
"Teacher, is there something wrong with this internship?"
While selecting ingredients, Li Shiyan moved close to Lin Ye and asked quietly.
"Just focus on your internship. If there are any problems, I'll handle them."
Lin Ye found a white card beneath a strategically placed cabbage.
Earlier, he hadn't found any initial cards in the bus or hotel like last time, but unexpectedly found one here.

Lin Ye happily pocketed the card, casually tossing the cabbage back since he wasn't picky about food, but was very particular about how each vegetable should be prepared.
After a while, all the students had selected their preferred ingredients. After paying collectively, they carried the ingredients onto the bus.
The captain had advanced the payment, and Lin Ye planned to find an appropriate person to reimburse him later.
"Teacher Lin, is this really appropriate? Internships don't typically include picnic activities."
Master Li said with an unfriendly expression.
"What do you, a driver, know about internships? I'm the internship instructor. If you don't want to do it, then get lost."
Lin Ye didn't hold back at all.
Master Li wanted to say more, but after seeing Lin Ye's icy gaze and recalling the rumors he'd heard earlier, he shuddered and didn't dare continue arguing.
Lin Ye unceremoniously took the driver's seat, stepped on the accelerator, and drove the bus out of town.
Master Li had no choice but to find a seat in the back and silently stared at the back of Lin Ye's head.
Lin Ye glanced at him through the rearview mirror but didn't pay him any mind.
In just half an hour, Lin Ye drove the bus to the academy's internship camp. The camp area had some low-level beasts nearby, which were their original internship targets.
"We're here already?"
"Teacher Lin drove so fast! Last time it took us nearly an hour."
"Let's start grilling the meat! I didn't eat breakfast and I'm starving."
"Uh, I just finished snacks, so I'm kind of full now..."

Lin Ye parked the bus at the edge of the camp and led the students with their food into the camp to prepare the grilled lunch.
The camp had grills and areas where fires could be lit. Lin Ye started a fire and placed the prepared raw meat and vegetables nearby. Students could either grill their own food or wait to eat what was already prepared.
Lin Ye was very skilled at controlling the heat, and before long, he had grilled a batch of meat that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
"Wow, this is grilled perfectly! It tastes even better than restaurant barbecue!"
"Definitely, I think I'll skip grilling myself - I'd probably just waste the ingredients."
"Teacher grills so fast, like a barbecue machine!"
"Sigh, last time we had our internship here we also grilled meat. Teacher Zhao was leading us then, and everything he grilled was either undercooked or burnt. He insisted on doing it himself, and we couldn't talk him out of it."
"Teacher Zhao was just practicing his grilling skills on you guys. I heard he likes Teacher Li from the class next door, and Teacher Li enjoys camping outdoors..."

"Teacher, you should eat something too. Ah, these are new chopsticks, so don't worry about hygiene."
Li Shiyan approached Lin Ye with a plate of nutritionally balanced barbecue and picked up some food to feed him.
"Thank you, I am actually a bit hungry, but the vegetables aren't necessary. Did you grill those yourself?"
Lin Ye ate the grilled meat while his hands never stopped moving, still rapidly producing more barbecue.
"Sorry, it's not as delicious as what you grilled."
Li Shiyan poured Lin Ye another drink.
Lin Ye frowned and took a small sip of the room-temperature beverage, preferring mineral water instead.
"Alright, you can grill the rest yourselves for fun."
Feeling vibrations coming from beneath his feet, Lin Ye put down the grill and tongs, slipped his hands into his pockets, grasped the card inside, and prepared to welcome the arriving guests.
"Teacher Lin, what's our internship objective for today?"
Seeing Lin Ye put down the grill, captain Liu Yawen walked up to Lin Ye and asked.
"We have guests arriving. We'll discuss it later."
Lin Ye looked toward the camp entrance as he spoke.
A group of cultists wearing black trench coats, hoods, and emerald green masks stormed into the camp. They raised their spiritual energy firearms, aiming them at Lin Ye and the students in the camp.
Before they even entered the camp, Lin Ye had already decisively crushed the white card.
"Stay where you are if you don't want to die!"
Bang bang bang bang bang bang!
The lead cultist fired several shots into the air.
The students all froze in place. Although most of them had never handled spiritual energy firearms before, the knowledge in their minds reminded them of the gruesome consequences of being hit by such weapons.
"Excellent, our internship targets have arrived. Today's internship course is somewhat different from usual - I'm going to teach you how to properly deal with cultists."
Lin Ye announced loudly in a cheerful voice.
"Stop pretending! I know you people have your spiritual energy and mental energy restricted, making you only slightly stronger than ordinary humans. You just arrived, so even if you found a card to remove the restrictions, you can only use your power briefly. The person next to me is a participant just like you! Do as you're told if you don't want to die!"
The lead cultist aimed his gun at Lin Ye and spoke excitedly.
