Chapter 388
Crack.
Lin Hui strained against the bizarre restraint, channeling his terrifying strength to break free. The solidifying force, however, was far greater than he had anticipated—and judging by the Iron Buddha's placid expression, it seemed to originate from somewhere outside him entirely. He bore no signs of strain.
As Lin Hui struggled, the Iron Buddha rapidly absorbed the golden light rising from the array beneath his feet. It coated his body until his entire figure gleamed like cast gold.
"Let me show you the Heavenly Dao!"
With a furious roar, he assumed a bizarre stance—one reminiscent of an Arhat statue. One hand held flat, the other clenched into a fist, he spun and swept a backhand toward the side of Lin Hui's neck. The strike looked awkward, but the Iron Buddha wasn't simply throwing a punch; an invisible spatial spike coated his knuckles. Unseen but as tangible as physical matter, it distorted space in its wake.
The sheer pressure of that impending blow told Lin Hui his current body could not withstand it.
He sighed inwardly. Then—a flash of white erupted at his back.
Swish!
A pure white, translucent figure—identical to himself—shot forward. The immense kinetic force of its launch tore through the air with a sharp ripping sound. Flashing instantly, the white light slammed into the center of the Iron Buddha's chest and passed straight through.
