The soldiers, dressed in gray-brown uniforms and carrying long rifles, paced through the courtyard before fixing their attention on the inner rooms. Their leader frowned.
“Mr. Lin, we received a report that you secretly helped embezzle the drought relief funds...”
“Feel free to search!” Lin Xiangnan stepped aside to clear the way, his expression righteous. “If you find even a shred of evidence inside, I’ll be at your disposal!”
The leader’s gaze shifted. He opened his mouth to give the order.
