Chapter 626: Revolt (Part 1)
Point-of-View: Jaden Xeno

"Huh, I see, so you guys are a resistance group, rebelling against the nation. That’s pretty cool. Now I get why you reacted the way you did when I burst in out of nowhere, sorry for startling you," I smiled apologetically.
"No, you don’t need to apologize. It seems you’re a victim of this rotten Kingdom too."
I’m just glad they aren’t trying to attack me anymore.
After Tailekinect shattered that Enslavement Collar thing, they were all pretty shocked. I was mostly confused since I still hadn’t figured out what my situation was.
But after a talk with the group, I realized that I’d been summoned to another world. Not sure if it’s just me or if the others got dragged here too, hope everyone’s alright.
As it turns out, this is some kind of medieval fantasy-type world, though their Magic is different to ours.
And the nation I’m in, the Kingdom of Lynocyes, is ruled by a King and Nobles, who live in lavish luxury while the majority of the citizens, Commoners, endure difficult lives at the mercy of the Nobility.
Thus, this resistance group was formed, they call themselves Revolt. It was mostly made up of Commoners, but also had a few Nobles among their members.
Almost all the Nobles in the group were women. Apparently, this nation has a law that women using Magic is illegal, any women who break that law are harshly punished and humiliated.
The few male Nobles in the group were those who had their loved ones suffer that punishment and humiliation.
I’d fallen into their hideout, which was in the nation’s Capital city, known as Sawer City. Specifically, in a rundown, abandoned district.
The hideout was concealed using Magic cast with special scrolls, which was why I crashed through their roof despite it seeming like there was nothing below me, the entire building is cloaked with some sort of concealment barrier.
This world’s Magic is pretty fascinating...and as it turned out, I’ve got a new form of Magic added to my arsenal.
One of the eight types of Elemental Magic in this world, Sound Magic, which seems to work like Beatriz’s Magic did.
And according to the members of Revolt, I should be able to use Spiritual Magic too.
I hope that’s the case, it sounds really interesting, summoning Spirits to command, kinda sounds like Kai’s Apostles.
"I must say, your clothes are quite fascinating. They’re so different to our clothes," One of them remarked with a look of intrigue, the leader of the group.
She’d introduced herself simply as Mira. She had short, messy light brown hair, golden eyes, a fair complexion, and was about average height, with a slender, toned build.
"Yeah, that’s understandable. The clothes you guys wearing look similar to the kind of clothes that were worn a few centuries ago in my world," I replied with a wry smile.
"I see, interesting. I thought that summoned Heroes came from worlds that don’t have Magic, which is hard to imagine, but all previously recorded cases of summoned Heroes were said to be from such worlds. But based on what you said, the world you came from does have Magic," She mused thoughtfully.
"Well, it didn’t always have Magic. That happened fairly recently, like a little over a century ago. By the way, don’t suppose you know of a way to get back to my world, do you?" I asked her hopefully.
"Hm...yes, I might. The last time Heroes were summoned was about a decade ago. They were sent to attack the Demons, but the Demons caught them in a trap, and apparently used a ritual to send them back to their world.
Of course, there’s no evidence that that’s actually true. The Demons might have simply killed the Heroes and said that as a deterrence, to prevent the Kingdom from summoning more Heroes.
But, then, Heroes are said to possess powers far exceeding that of anyone born in this world, so it is possible that the Demons were telling the truth. Either way, I wish that scum King had taken it to heart," She replied with a grimace.
"Yeah? How come?"
"The Hero Summoning Ritual is a vile one, it requires a large number of human sacrifices. The Knights rounded up five thousand Commoners a few days ago, now I understand why...they were chosen as sacrifices, to serve as a catalyst to activate the ritual."
"Seriously? They sacrificed that many people?" I frowned in disgust.
"Yes, the Nobles view Commoners as glorified livestock. As far as they’re concerned, every Commoner in the nation is expendable. So, they wouldn’t think twice about sacrificing any number of Commoners for their own benefit."
Okay, definitely won’t be cooperating with them, they sound horrible.
"Hey, Mira, we’re back," A voice rang out, as a group of five walked in.
"Glad to see you all returned safely. What did you find out?" She greeted them with a smile.
"We learned that a total of five Heroes were summoned. Two of them massacred several Knights and Nobles in the castle before escaping. Another killed a few Knights as well.
As for the fourth, well...that one killed about a dozen Knights, including the Vice-Commander, and absolutely devastated the west district.
We questioned a couple of witnesses, it was a woman with orange hair, she used Spirit Fusion and unleashed strange red blasts of energy that exploded. She left the west district in quite a state, there are a couple of massive craters there."
No question who they’re talking about. Come to think of it, there was a bit of a rumbling earlier, thought it was just an earthquake or something.
"What? The Vice-Commander is dead? That’s great news!" Exclaimed Mira, before adding as she glanced at me, "Jaden, do you know this person? Is she one of the friends you mentioned?"
"Yup, unless there’s another orange-haired explosion maniac in this world," I replied sheepishly.
"Assuming the other three are also your friends...how powerful are they? Evidently, this explosion maniac, as you called her, is powerful enough to defeat the Vice-Commander of the Knight Order, which would put her among the most powerful people in the nation, at the very least. Are you and your other friends comparable to her?"
"Actually, uh...if we’re talking solely in terms of power, she’d be the weakest. That said, her sheer destructive capacity is probably the greatest in our world."
