Chapter 336: Alexa… I did not meant it like that.
"Alexa… We need help." Ale said aloud after sighing at her options, nothing much she could do to be honest, "You… Leave us, we will call you when we need you. For now keep the same profile flight and do not deploy or change anything on the plane unless we tell you."
Ale remembered the pilot was still with them, so she dismissed him.
"As you wish Lady Ale." The pilot said, bowing to Ale and then leaving the room entirely, they never addressed or say anything to Big Sister, that annoyed Ale, but she could deal with that later , right now Ale had more important things to deal with.
After they were gone, Ale turned to Big Sister, who was slightly confused, but didn't seem worried that much. "So that's the plan?" Big Sister had asked.
"You don't seem convinced." Ale said shrugging, "Trust me on this, it will work. So? Alexa? Anytime soon?"
Ale had expected Alexa to answer almost immediately, but there was some kind of delay going on, had Main Core done something again?
"Main Core? Did Alexa say something?" Ale asked inwardly and closed her eyes as she focused, before all it took was to push the metaphysical button inside her head, but right now her connection to Alexa was being parsed through Main Core.
And Ale knew that Main Core had some kind of… beef, with Alexa and [Main Core], which was kinda funny on its own way, but right now they didn't have time to deal with that.
…As you wish Mistress. Main Core answered and Ale felt the connection solidify. Please be aware that I am not sure how this will proceed or if it is even possible to achieve what you desire.
And with that, Ale felt the brunt of the connection to Alexa solidify and the world coming to a crawl, it was not a new feeling, she had felt this a few times already, it was somewhat worrying that this was happening now that Ale had asked Alexa to come out.
"Alexa is here!!!" Alexa said as a crack in space was opened as if a window was broken, the little girl had walked into the room as if it was the most normal thing ever.
To Ale's senses, nothing had changed, she was still getting the usual readings from everything around them, and as far as she was aware, Main Core was still connected to the internal wireless network.
"Hello Alexa." Ale said smiling at the little girl, "How have you been?"
"Alexa has been okay." Alexa seemed to look around as if looking for something, "Alexa has been snooping around, she feels like there is something weird going around but she can't put her finger on it."
Ale also looked around to see if she could see what it was, but couldn't find whatever it was that Alexa was looking for.
Main Core, do you know what she is looking for? Ale sent inwardly, wondering if Main Core would know.
Unknown Mistress, but please keep your guard up. Main Core answered, Ale couldn't help but notice that Main Core was dedicating almost all their computational power on monitoring everything that Alexa was doing.
And Ale couldn't help but think that Alexa had manifested like this just to mess with Main Core, and since Ale had thought that, Main Core was now also aware of that, and instead of lowering the amount of computational power, Main Core instead ramped it up, overclocking itself a little.
Which was in itself funny, but Ale had more important things to deal with.
"Good," Ale said nodding at Alexa, "I was wondering if you knew how to deal with this situation."
Ale then pointed at Golem and collected some of the data she had been getting, a simple data packet sent towards Alexa was all it took for the little girl to get the information that Ale knew about what had happened.
"Nom!" Only for the little girl to do a little jump, pluck something from the air that looked like a… letter? And shove it into her mouth, "Mnnn…. Yeah, it tastes like Ale, I told you [Main Core], see how Alexa was right?"
… Ale was not sure if she should try to taste herself or not, mostly because she probably would not taste anything special, she was quite aware of what her body composition was, she did have a copy of her original blueprint after all. Not that she had been using that… Actually could she even do that?
Since her powers had moved away from the organic, could she brute force that?
Main Core? Do you think we could brute force a blueprint update? Ale decided to check, for the sake of checking of course.
…It may be possible as the blueprint has been stored within [Core], but it will be highly inefficient and there may be some issues that we will need to compensate for. Main Core then brought the image of Elder using his power for something that didn't quite work, the time that he had tried to create a transformer toy and created and eldritch abomination (mechanical) instead. Just like how Elder wasn't able to compensate, in our case we may be able to achieve a more perfect outcome, but at the end we may end up with close to nothing on the Mana tank, and I may need to enter into hibernation mode for some time to defragment and fix any bugs during the actualization of the blueprint.
So leave it for a last choice scenario, got it. Ale said nodding at that, the fact that she would be able to do it was… quite the surprise, she had expected for it to become impossible, but then again, they could probably cheat a little with the help of Alexa.
"See! She is also talking with her own [Main Core]! Alexa was right!" Alexa suddenly said pointing at… a point behind Ale, as far as Ale was concerned there shouldn't be anything there, "So. Alexa has judged the situation and has decided that…"
There was suddenly the sound of drums coming from… somewhere, as if to make Alexa's statement something more dramatic than it was.
"Alexa can fix it!" Alexa said nodding, "We can fix it!"
Then as if to make sure Ale understood she rolled an imaginary sleeve, clenched her fist and flexed her bicep as if to show she was indeed capable of doing that. Of course, there was nothing to roll on her arm as Alexa was wearing her white sundress. There was also nothing as muscles on her noodle arm. But Ale got the idea.
"I knew you could do it Alexa." Ale said nodding and taking a step forward she ruffled the hair of the little girl, unlike what she had expected, her hand found the head of the little girl. Meaning… this was not a hologram…
Which was… concerning. Alexa… Had Alexa pulled Ale into the imaginary space? But Ale had her connection to Main Core… Ale was half sure this was not real space, because she hadn't felt any surge of mana or the like, not like how it was when Alexandra separated herself from their main body.
And the main body here was Alexa. Ale had no idea how Alexandra pulled that one out, so she herself couldn't do it either, nor did she want to do it… Not yet anyway, maybe at a later date Ale would think about it, but right now she was not ready for that conversation.
"So… Do you wanna swap?" Ale said walking towards the pod where Golem was floating, "I can't do organic shifts at the moment, I am working in a patch for that, but right now I don't think I can help Golem."
"Gnnuu…" Alexa did that weird sound that she had been doing as of late, where had she picked that one up? Did she watch some weird show on the TV while Ale was running around? "Alexa believes in Ale, Alexa believes that Ale will be able to do this later too!"
Alexa said nodding sagely, standing besides Ale in front of the pod.
"But for now, Alexa will be the bigger Alexa in the relationship and show Ale how its done!" Alexa said patting her chest proudly while she raised her head and smiled, "Look at how Big Sister Alexa does it and you will do it later, okay?"
Alexa extended her hand forward, Ale could see how the hand that looked solid went past the glass like it wasn't there. Ale could see how the hand started to extend in an almost cartoonish way and sneaked its way towards the dirt Core.
"You do it too!" Alexa suddenly said turning to Ale, "Like Big Brother likes to say. Mistakes are the Mother of Learning."
Ale patted the glass crystal with her hand before closing, trying to see what Alexa was doing, Ale closed her eyes and focused on what her sensors told her about Alexa. The little girl was… mundane, unlike how it felt to Ale's sensors everyone else on the room. Alexa was beyond mundane.
Big Sister for example was a bundle of space mana in a body enhanced by Mana, her muscles were tainted with smaller bundles of Mana ready to react, from using the small bundles to open micro portals to move herself with wind currents to the passive mana sonar she had all the time.
The pilot was more mundane, not fully normal human, but his body had more Mana than a normal civilian should, he was not quite yet at the point of a Core User, but he was close, perhaps he would be triggering a Core formation one of these days.
Golem… most of the time was a dense formation of unaspected Mana, not fully in one direction enough for Ale to categorize him as one, if anything, Golem felt closer to ambient mana than anything else, which was a weird thing to think now that she was focusing on that.
She hadn't taken closer samples from other people, but she suspected most would move closer to one thing or the other, which made it even weirder how Alexa was so… normal.
Her body didn't seem to have any iota of Mana, from the remanent of cells that Ale had on her palm, she could see the blueprint of Alexa, and it was still the same one she remembered from day one. Not a single change had happened, not like how it was with Ale whose blueprint had changed and adapted.
Not like how it was for Alexandra's whose final blueprint was different from the start, no changes as extremes as what Ale had done, but small tweaks here and there, her chest was bigger, her legs longer. Her butt more firm, her liver could purify almost three times the amount of toxins needed, her heart was more resilient and she had full control over her facial expressions.
Smaller changes like those, also she could control when and from where she would sweat, as well as her own body odor.
An interesting gift if nothing else, what Alexandra left for Ale. She wondered how her last blueprint looked, when she fully separated from them, but that one Ale had no access to. She suspected either Alexandra or Alexanders had done something to prevent it from leaking.
And Ale did not want to ask.
Which again, made it so strange how Alexa was so… normal and yet, she was obviously not normal.
"Focus!" Alexa said in a seriouss tone, "The mind wander must not!"
She even spoke in a weird sagely tone, and for some reason her white sundress had changed into a brown robe with a white linen shirt and black pants. What the hell was that little girl thinking?
"Become one with [The World], embrace the ultimate truth…" Alexa said in that weird sagely tone. "Moumantai."
Ale quickly searched the translation on her database and came with 'Everything will be all right', why was she using the word in Cantonese?
Ale sighed and instead allowed her mind to wander, she doubted Alexa was thinking something overly complex thing, she had been inside her head enough times, as Alexa had been inside Ale's head. They both knew each other in an out, so if Alexa was telling Ale to become one with the world, it probably meant it quite literally.
So Ale stopped thinking all together, she didn't think about how her hand felt the cold glass, she didn't think about how her mana sensors categorized the interactions of her own mana field with the mana inside the pod.
She didn't think about how her nanites were updating the blueprint on real time, she instead shut all of those things, she threw them to the side and let Main Core deal with them, instead she tried to focus on nothing.
"Like that!" Only for her eyes to open as Alexa screamed, the little girl was once again wearing her white sundress and was barefooted, her hair was so long that it brushed the floor.
But Ale didn't focus on that, instead she looked down at her own hand…
"…Oh… That will hurt tomorrow." Ale couldn't help but say that as she felt the cold liquid around her hand.
Half her hand was inside the pod and the other was outside, on the edges she could see her blood mixing with the liquid, apparently whatever she had tried to do had been stopped midway and now her hand was fused with the glass of the pod.
Understandably her body was not meant to be like that, so while she hadn't ended with a cut arm, part of the flesh had been sliced.
"Ale's juices are all over the place!" Alexa said running in circ….
"Alexa… are you running in a geometrical form?" Ale asked as she asked her own Nanites to start pulling her blood and she tried to keep all her bits in one place, she… wasn't sure how to fix this, she could pull her arm out, but that would leave a hole on the pod. And Ale did not want to put Golem at risk.
"Alexa is running in octagons!" Alexa said as she stopped and nodded proudly, "But that is besides the point, only scrubs run in circles, Alexa is no scrub!"
"…No one said that." Ale said also nodding, she wasn't sure why she was nodding… No wait, she felt as if she had to nod, but while she could have ignored that feeling, she had followed as if it was the most normal thing… Why? "So, what do I do next?"
"Nothing!" Alexa said with a smile, "The next bit is more advanced, Alexa wanted to make sure Ale was working as normal, so she asked her to do that! Ale should be able to pull her arm in the same way, but Ale thinks too much! "
…Okay?
"So for now, Alexa will do the next bit, Ale can go back and rest." Alexa said smiling at Ale, "Do you want Alexa to do it, or do you want to do it yourself?"
"…I…" Ale was not sure how to answer that, she knew what Alexa was asking, but that was not something she had ever thought about. Ale couldn't help but feel a sense of dread wash over her, the idea of what needed to happen, what was about to happen, "…Can you… Can you do it for me? Just don't… Don't tell me when."
"Sure!" Alexa said with a bright smile, and Ale couldn't help but let a sigh of relief. Ale knew that Alexa liked her, and while the little girl was… weird in some aspects, at least she was honest.
If Alexa didn't want to hurt you.
"See you later!" Alexa suddenly said as she snapped her fing-
