Chapter 364: Tian’s First Loss

Finality is the eventual destination of all things in this universe.

Through Remembrance’s intervention, I saw the secret regarding the universe’s eternal loop as well as the Trailblazer’s role as its Deliverer. The universe is a large-scale Amphoreus, with reality staked on the line.

According to Finality and the other knowledge I knew previously, Finality’s descent could be sped up by disrupting the natural development of the world—that is, rejecting the canon events (i.e., original futures).

The expansion of the Circle of Knowledge inevitably speeds it up, hence one of the Geniuses kills people who cause Knowledge Singularities (i.e., causes the said expansion).

That is her way of protecting the ‘canon’, of the universe’s safety.

My final act of reversing the universe’s time and stripping Aeons and mortals alike of Amphoreus’ memories is done for the same purpose.

I am not afraid of disrupting the canon.

I am afraid I could not gain enough benefits after disrupting the canon.

Since I am not yet prepared to break through to the Dao Integration Realm, I had to hit the pause button. It was not just a matter of lacking cultivation.

There are still things I am not clear of.

For example, how should I make Amphoreus real?

Is it a direct manifestation of All Creation, granting Amphoreus “life”?

Or is it a matter of controlling time through All Creation, bringing Amphoreus’ future forward?

We only have one shot to do things. I cannot mess it up. Experimentations and verifications are sorely needed.

I thought everything went well… until I heard Kiana’s words.

Finality… this is going to be troublesome.”

In the face of the disaster everyone desires to overcome, we are all but the same. Unless we break through to the Tribulation Transcendence Realm, that is.

“How’s everyone?”

Kiana’s lips turned into a smile.

“Take a guess.”

“...You are all at the Void Refinement Realm?”

“Um.”

She released her hidden fluctuations. The familiar and overwhelming sensation tinged with the Dao cannot be any less familiar in my eyes. I stepped into this realm twice.

The Void Refinement Realm.

“Our breakthrough could be attributed to you…”

Listening to her words, I realized what happened.

The [Xiutian Art], my main cultivation technique, reached [Perfection] mastery upon encountering Remembrance. I failed to notice it once my true body was separated from my divine mind, but once the fusion occurred, all sorts of insights came to mind.

It was just that I neglected it to deal with Amphoreus’ troubles.

Turns out, it also had the function of seamless synchronization when it comes to Tao Gifts. It was set to automatic allocation by default, though I could change it.

“Middle Void Refinement?”

“Um. The Cocoon’s helping me all this time. As for the others, their experiences in controlling those simulated Paths sent them in a seclusion frenzy.”

“Void Refinement Realm is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of years…”

I was about to say they should not rush things when Kiana’s words stumped me.

“Everyone agreed that they will shoulder the dangers equally next time.”

“...”

Every now and then, I am left wondering what kind of stellar luck I had in life to be treated like this. I thought I was fine with a solo act. That I could sacrifice myself for others’ happy endings.

At this rate, they would rather take my original place and let me experience a good ending.

I was left without words. Kiana saw through my helplessness and let out a light chuckle. My heart felt lighter as serenity pervaded me.

Eyes closed, I tested [Xiutian Art]’s capabilities. The perfect and seamless control over spiritual qi circulation and the unstoppable automatic cultivation ceaselessly pushed my realm upwards.

Then I realized something.

I looked at the special place where Tao Gifts are stored.

In an instant, I was greeted with a large cosmic cloud made of silver lights. There is also another portion which housed multicolored lights.

One look is all it took for knowledge to surface.

The cosmic cloud belonged to the others’ progress during the past 300 years. The multicolored cloud is my own progress—the automatic cultivation’s progress along with some more.

So this is why I never felt an urge to break through…

I am so used to “edging” my breakthrough I got caught off guard at this time.

Leaving the special space, I examined my body with my divine consciousness… before I belatedly realized another thing.

My divine mind.

I checked several times. I could not be mistaken.

It is already at the level of Void Refinement Realm… but this is impossible.

Divine Transformation Realm aimed for the fusion of body and soul;

Void Refinement Realm adds the mind into the mix.

Once all three aspects of existence are merged, one must deal with their karma, becoming a karma-less entity unaffected by the world’s natural laws.

In the end, I chose not to mull over it. I would have to check its uniqueness some other time.

I opened my eyes and met Kiana’s pupils.

“Can we postpone the session for later?”

“No.”

Her towering chest went up and down. Only now did I notice the familiar nurse outfit she wore.

The last time she did, she spawn-camped me right after condensing my first high-grade Tao Body. The session lasted for a long time.

Seeing the thirsty look entrenched deep within her eyes, I knew I had zero bargaining rights.

I looked at her realm. Middle Void Refinement.

I looked at mine. Pinnacle Divine Transformation.

A gap of one major realm…

I am cooked.

As if seeing my ‘despair’, Kiana licked her lips.

“Hehe, I still have a lot to pending debts to collect~”

*****

Earth, AD 2598.

Four hundred years of immortal cultivation altered Earth’s original appearance to large extents.

At first, Earth was enlarged along with the other planets in the solar system. Its surface area increased tenfold, turning it into a super planet. The Sun was also pushed upwards to the level of a spiritual star. It emits a special-type of spiritual qi that nourishes those exposed to it. Its original functions are also increased to cope with the coming changes.

When the population reached tens of trillions, the folding space technology became famous. It is followed by the creation of artificial planets that orbit around the enhanced Sun’s gravitational field.

Fortunately, the majority from the first batch of Purple Mansion Realm cultivators four hundred years ago broke through to the Golden Core Realm.

It was still a shit load of work, but it was manageable thanks to the Federation’s growing population and the cultivation of other leading cultivators.

A white-haired woman stared at the long list of ‘Seclusion’ statuses on the floating virtual screen. Her crimson pupils flickered as she saw Kiana’s status change from ‘Active’ to ‘Seclusion’.

“How strange…”
