Chapter 136 Home Run to Hell
Chapter 136 Home Run to Hell
“Ahhhhh!”
Moto, Goka, and Bolo rushed the demon, ruach crackling wildly across their weapons.
Goka swung her greatsword, Bolo flared his massive axe, and Moto—charging his gauntlet—launched a crushing punch.
Their attacks erupted from a distance, magical power coiling before blasting toward the demon—
striking her head-on.
BOOM!
Raksha’latrex staggered back a single step, growling, fury rising as she prepared to counterattack—
Then THUD—a chunk of ice smashed into her face.
She snapped her head toward Iryoku.
“Hey, honey! I’m right here!” Iryoku taunted from the flank, lifting more jagged ice from the ground with a smirk.
“Sometimes I forget you guys are actually strong,” he joked about the trio fighting alongside him as he dashed toward the demon, feinting several strikes.
She slashed at him with her claws, each swing bursting with demonic power and shaking the entire battlefield. Her growls echoed as shockwaves tore through ice and snow.
Realizing none of her attacks were landing, her eyes narrowed—
and she switched targets.
A dark grin split her face.
Then she exploded forward, launching herself at maximum speed straight toward the others.
“Shit—! Scatter!!” someone shouted.
Goka felt the demon’s killing intent lock onto her. She hurled herself aside, dodging with everything she had, her entire body flaring with magic as she pushed her speed to the limit.
The demon nearly clipped her—missing by less than a heartbeat—
barreling past like an unstoppable locomotive.
Then she pivoted sharply, claws carving into the ground, and chased Goka across the battlefield as arrows and spells rained down from all directions.
Goka’s foot suddenly slipped—skidding on the ice.
“No!” Bolo roared.
He charged in, pouring every ounce of strength into a single swing.
His massive axe crashed into the back of the demon’s head.
CRAAASH!
The impact was enormous—
Bolo’s weapon, coated in ruach, shattered from the force.
Bolo himself was hurled backward by the recoil—
—but the blow pushed the demon a few meters forward, staggering her.
Just enough time.
Goka scrambled back to her feet and dashed away before the demon could recover.
Raksha’latrex straightened slowly, turning her head back toward them. Her face twisted with fury— but she didn’t chase anymore.
She just stood there.
Tanking every hit.
“Lowly creatures…” she snarled, her voice echoing through the battlefield. “I am immortal. Nothing you do can hurt me. I can live forever.”
Her demonic power began to gather—thick, black energy coiling around her four arms as she raised them.
Her claws traced patterns in the air, glowing with condensed magic that grew denser and heavier with every second, even as arrows and spells struck her.
Iryoku felt a cold spike of dread.
Whatever she’s doing—it isn’t good.
He didn’t know how to kill this monster—
they couldn’t outrun her forever—
their weapons couldn’t pierce her scaled skin—
and they wouldn’t win a battle of attrition.
Then an idea hit him as his gaze drifted toward the lake. It’s the only way… but how?
Suddenly, Orn flashed across the sky again—then stopped mid-flight, curling into a tight ball. The wind eagle burst into particles of dissipating magic.
“What—?” Iryoku muttered.
And then he smirked. He understood. Damn… you all are one step ahead already.
He tightened his grip on the kingtinium dagger attached to the white rope.
As the demon neared the end of her spell—the ice behind her shifted.
A deep crack split across the frozen lake.
From far away, Iryoku heard a familiar sound—something spinning, drilling, tearing through the air.
SWWOOOOOSH—
Iryoku’s smirk widened.
A massive shadow rose behind Raksha’latrex—the upper body of an enormous woman formed from water. A beautiful face he recognized, long flowing hair and pointed ears—Aqua, the water spirit.
Ice gathered from the lake, layering over her watery body like crystalline armor.
Two colossal hands lifted high above the demon.
A sharp flash of blue light streaked across the battlefield.
“FROZEN ARROW!!”
Two voices cried out from afar.
A spear of pure frost-magic, glowing like a spinning drill, roared toward the demon.
Raksha’latrex sensed it at the last second—her spell not ready yet.
The spear slammed straight into her chest.
CRAAASH!!
A deep shock of pain tore through her.
“GWWWLLWLWLWL—!!”
Raksha’latrex shrieked as the arrow drilled into her torso, ice spikes grinding against her armor—barely damaging it, but pushing her back toward the lake. Frost crawled across her body as she thrashed wildly, trying to rip it apart with brute strength.
But Aqua’s colossal hands—packed ice shaped into jagged talons—clamped around the demon’s body. Her arms were pinned, freezing solid as the spirit locked the monster in place.
Goka and Moto rushed in immediately, bodies blazing with magic, unleashing blasts of energy that hammered the demon farther toward the lake’s center.
GRWWLWL—!!
Iryoku was already in position.
His harpoon dagger was ready—its edge a single needle point of condensed black energy.
“Even with all that power… I don’t believe you have unlimited energy,” he growled. “Maybe we can’t kill you… but—”
He hurled the weapon straight at the demon’s face, perfectly timed.
“We can confine you.”
CRACK!
The black-charged blade slammed into her open jaws—
shattering on impact and snapping her head violently backward, driving her even farther away.
The white rope recoiled, whipping back into Iryoku’s arm.
And even after all that, Raksha’latrex still resisted, fueled by rage and pure demonic will.
Aqua’s ice-formed arms trembled, cracks spreading—
the demon was beginning to overpower the spirit.
Just in time, another figure arrived.
She had been preparing since the beginning—like a sprinter waiting for the starting gun. Iryoku’s attack on the demon had been her signal.
She bolted forward in a straight line, building speed with every step. A streak of crimson shot across the battlefield, each step leaving fractures in the frozen ground.
Iryoku recognized her instantly.
Fiery red hair whipping behind her.
Eyes sharp as a predator’s.
Her massive mace raised high—
Alessandra.
She reached the demon in a single, perfect movement.
Her stance locked into place, feet crushing the ice beneath her.
Her entire body—and her weapon—were wrapped in dense leben, glowing violently.
The towering demon entered her range—
and Alessandra moved like a baseball star stepping into the perfect pitch.
She pivoted her hips.
Her torso twisted.
Every muscle in her body flexed impossibly hard, generating a monstrous amount of force—
All of it pouring into a single, devastating strike.
“Go back to hell—!!”
She swung the Skullcrusher with everything she had.
CLAAASH!!
The blow sent the demon flying backward—straight into the center of the lake.
Frost exploded across the surface as Aqua surged forward, wrapping Raksha’latrex in layers of ice and dragging her down into the depths.
A cocoon of solid frost sealed around the demon. A tomb of frozen hell, her heartbeat slowing… lowering… until it became completely inaudible.
The lake’s surface froze over in an instant.
Iryoku landed beside Alessandra.
She was panting, drenched in sweat, her whole body trembling from the effort. Warm mist drifted from her skin. Her weapon—once a massive mace—was now shattered, only the handle remaining in her hand.
She turned toward him, exhausted.
“Just like I told you before.” Iryoku punched her shoulder, a grin spreading across his face. “You’re all about hitting home runs.”
Alessandra’s face flushed.
Seeing him covered in cuts—exhausted, but still standing tall—stirred something deep in her chest. Those couple of days apart had…
For a moment, she even felt tears prickling at the corners of her eyes.
A heavy rumble made them both turn.
The armored carriage rolled toward them, pulled by Rhogan, the massive earth rhino.
“Rhogan…” Iryoku muttered, relieved.
The carriage screeched to a halt in front of them, and before he could react, the door burst open.
Three girls jumped out at once.
“Iryokuuuu!!”
He barely managed to open his arms before all three slammed into him, knocking him onto his back.
They were crying hard.
“Uuuh—thank goodness you’re okay—sob—”
“Please don’t do more dangerous things—sob sob—”
“I’m so glad you’re safe… sob…”
Yumi, Reika, and Agnes buried their faces into his chest.
Iryoku, sitting on the ground with all three clinging tightly to him, gently rubbed their backs and stroked their heads.
“I’m relieved you’re all safe too,” he said softly. They looked worn out—like they’d come straight from a battle—but unharmed.
Standing to the side, Alessandra watched them with a warm, quiet smile.
Goka, Bolo, and Moto approached next, followed by the archers and mages emerging from the treeline, led by Ligero.
As Iryoku got back to his feet, he noticed Bolo—the bear-man—glancing over at Goka.
Iryoku smirked.
Bolo caught the look, met Iryoku’s eyes, and Iryoku gave him a simple nod—a silent Go for it, big guy.
Moto—the bald bandit they’d once met under rough terms—actually smiled. His scarred, wrinkled face made the expression almost strange on him. “That was a good fight,” he said.
But just as he finished speaking, a bright pillar of light shot up from the direction of the forest—the place where their allies and the freed slaves had gone.
Everyone’s face darkened.
“Oh, fuck me… this shit doesn’t end—” Iryoku clenched his jaw.
They immediately scrambled into action.
Iryoku and the girls climbed into the carriage. “Rhogan—go!” Iryoku ordered.
“Sorry, girls—our moment will have to wait.” He vaulted onto the roof of the carriage, winding his white rope and tying one of his twin daggers to the end, reforming his harpoon as they took off.
Ligero, Moto, Goka, Bolo, and the others mounted their rams and wolves, charging out alongside them—
Goka hopping onto the same ram as Bolo, making him flush a little.
THUD THUD
Rhogan thundered through the forest, smashing aside bushes and trees with raw force.
Inside the carriage, Agnes lifted her hands and summoned Aqua from the bottom of the lake.
Alessandra tossed aside the broken handle of her shattered mace, drawing her magic cannon with one hand and her shield with the other. She took a seat on the front platform of the carriage, bracing herself and getting ready for the next clash.
Yumi and Reika climbed onto the inside bench and pushed open the hatch, leaning half their bodies out— Yumi nocking an arrow, Reika gathering mana in her hands, her black rings glinting with power.
Even in their focus, both girls still stole quick glances upward—toward Iryoku. They didn’t want to lose sight of him… not after they’d just gotten him back.
Iryoku finished reforging his harpoon. Standing on the roof, he cracked his neck as the wind whipped against him. “Alright… let’s end this fast,” he said, glancing back at the girls. “Because I’m in desperate need of a good love-night with you girls.”
Yumi and Reika didn’t even flinch—they were already used to his shameless, reckless comments.
“Be prepared,” Yumi murmured, meeting his eyes with a steady look—her face glowing with a soft, enchanted beauty.
“I won’t let you sleep,” Reika added, her voice smooth and hypnotic, her half-lidded eyes promising sinful trouble.
A voice rose from inside the carriage.
“I-I will too!” Agnes squeaked. “Please don’t leave me out!” Then her voice dropped to a tiny whisper. “I… I have a surprise for you…”
Iryoku almost laughed.
From the front seat, Alessandra glanced at him—her gaze tracing his frame. Her lips parted; she wanted to say something too.
But then she froze.
Her chest tightened.
An image flashed through her mind for just a split second. She swallowed hard, drew in a slow breath, and forced herself to look forward again—her eyes locking onto the incoming battle.
