Double Dagger Delinquent

Chapter 127 Fight To The Death

Chapter 127 Fight To The Death

The children’s screams rose as an executioner lifted his torch.

A sharp crack—his head exploded. The man toppled from the platform, blood and bone splattering across the wood. Kalev stood motionless, as the rune-etched revolver smoked in her hand. She didn’t even glance at the corpse; her eyes stayed locked on Alexander.

Alexander’s face darkened. He rose from his throne with eerie calm and lifted one hand. Instantly, his knights and mages froze. Even Magnus and Vadia, who had been ready to strike the demihuman, halted mid-motion.

He gestured toward Laila and the musicians. The music shifted—its rhythm hardened, the beat dropping like a whip. Laila’s voice swelled, raw and feral, turning the square into a savage war drum.

He shrugged off his cloak and strode forward, rage simmering beneath the surface.

“Perfect timing,” he said, voice low and cold. “I’m still thirsty for blood. And there’s no better way to quench it than by slaughtering a filthy animal like you myself.”

A wide, unhinged grin spread across his face.

Kalev planted her feet. “Come at me, asshole. You’ve destroyed too many lives. You deserve to die in the worst way possible.” She raised her sword into guard.

Alexander laughed—amusement laced with cruelty.

“Oh? Tell me about someone I killed that you loved. Ha! Guess what? I don’t remember. I’ve crushed so many that I don’t even bother looking under my boot for the ants. I just squash.”

Without another word, Alexander’s body flared with light and energy. He lunged forward like a spear, the ground cracking beneath his steps.

Kalev didn’t move.

Chains of energy burst from his hands, covered in spikes and serrated edges, ripping through the air toward her. She barely shifted—dodging by a hair’s breadth as the attack struck the ground, gouging deep holes in the stone. Dust and sparks flew.

She dashed aside, moving with sharp, feline grace.

Her mind slipped—flickering back to the past. The same man, younger, long blond hair whipping behind him, laughing as he unleashed those same black chains—cutting down fleeing villagers one by one.

And then—him.

The real Kalev.

A young catman—proud, strong—stepping in front of her. Protecting her and the villagers, cutting down Alexander’s riders.

His back appeared before her as he swung his sword, shielding her from the storm of attacks raining down from Alexander. Sparks flew; lightning crackled through the air. He fought desperately, using his newly invented defensive technique.

The flash vanished.

Now, in the present, the same monster hurled his chains again—snapping through the air like twin whips, glowing with living lightning.

Kalev moved through them with feline reflexes, her motions minimal and precise—dodging each strike by the narrowest margin. Sparks danced off her blade as she deflected blow after blow. But she didn’t use the technique. Not yet. She was waiting. Her face calm, but her eyes burned with focus.

“Hahaha! What’s that? Is dodging all you can do?” Alexander taunted, his old face twisting into a cruel grin. “You think that’s how you’ll kill me?”

He took a step forward, spreading his arms wide. “Well then—time to end this!”

He rushed forward, his chain-blades whipping toward her head and feet, forcing her to twist midair, spinning horizontally.

The flashback returned—

The real Kalev parrying the same attack years ago, repelling Alexander’s wild strikes with perfect precision. But exhaustion showed in his movements; the human monster was simply too strong.

Alexander lunged like a spear. His fist struck forward—then, from his armored forearm, a hidden blade snapped out, a secret attack. The glowing weapon pierced Kalev’s chest, shattering his Leben coating. Blood sprayed.

The vision shattered—back to the present.

Alexander’s body moved in the same way—his punch aimed straight for her heart, the hidden blade snapping out again.

But this time—she was ready.

Her sword flared to life. At the exact instant before impact, Kalev’s blade met the strike—

A perfect Parade.

“AGH—!”

The air erupted. Her sword flashed, absorbing the impact, bending the energy—and then she released it.

Crash—

A massive shockwave tore through the plaza. The Riposte slammed into Alexander’s chest with blinding force.

For the first time, his face showed fear.

The ground split beneath their feet as energy exploded outward, white light swallowing them both.

When the light and dust settled, Kalev looked directly at Alexander.

He was kneeling, one hand clutching his chest.

Then—he smiled, and stood.

Kalev’s eyes widened in shock.

His chest armor was shattered, and beneath it pulsed a layer of reddish-black flesh—alive, writhing, glowing faintly with the same energy as the black orbs. It looked like a shell of living demon flesh, worn as armor over his body.

“Hahaha…” Alexander chuckled darkly, stepping forward. “Is that all you had? You really thought I wouldn’t have a safeguard?” ᴛhis chapter is ᴜpdated by novèlfire.net

Kalev stood frozen, trembling, her breath ragged. Her mind felt hazy, drained.

She looked around—the plaza littered with debris, the air thick with the scent of burning flesh. Human citizens and Alexander’s warriors watched silently, stern and unmoving. Her gaze fell on Moto and Goka, still trapped inside the cocoons above the flames—their faces twisted in horror, tears streaking down their cheeks. Beyond them, the caged children stared in silent terror.

“Oh, don’t worry,” Alexander sneered, his grin stretching unnaturally wide. “You’ll all die together.”

His laughter rang out—harsh and mad—echoing across the city. Behind him, the music continued, a twisted hymn of death that filled the plaza.

Kalev closed her eyes. Her hands trembled. For a heartbeat, the world went silent.

Then her eyes snapped open—sharp, burning with defiance.

“Come and kill me. I’m right here.”

She raised her sword, spreading her arms as Alexander lunged again, chains snapping forward.

But this time—she dashed too, meeting him head-on. Her blade thrust for his chest just as his chains coiled toward her limbs, and the hidden blade on his arm shot straight for her heart.

And then—

CRACK—

The air split open behind Alexander.

From thin air, a presence emerged—a man cloaked in distortion, his form bending light itself. In his hand, a dagger gleamed, its edge coated in black energy—dense and heavy, like a small singularity—connected by a glowing white rope coiled around his arm.

The man grinned, sharp and fearless, eyes burning through the dust.

“Infinity Edge!” he roared.

The dagger sank deep into Alexander’s nape with a wet, ugly crunch. Cracks of energy rippled through his body as his Leben shattered like glass.

The man—Iryoku—yanked the blade free and kicked Alexander forward. A wide grin spread across his face.

“It’s all yours, buddy.”

Kalev’s surprise lasted only a fraction of a second. She moved in perfect sync—her sword flashing downward in a single, clean arc.

SHHHK—

Alexander’s head flew from his shoulders, spinning through the air as his body collapsed.

Silence fell.
