Chapter 88 Night Crawling

Chapter 88 Night Crawling

“There—we’re almost there,” Reika said with relief.

The group hadn’t stopped all night, riding Rhogan through the dense forest. The sounds of night monsters kept everyone on edge. But at last, they broke through the treeline into a wide clearing, and beyond it—the city.

They didn’t stop until they reached the gates.

“Fuu...” Yumi exhaled as she and the others jumped down from Rhogan’s back.

Kael stirred awake, rubbing his eyes.

“Did we arrive...?” he asked, blinking as he looked around. He and his sister were still nestled on Rhogan’s saddle, while Iryoku and the girls walked alongside them through the city.

The guards, seeing their dirt-covered clothes and exhausted faces, let them pass without question.

Soon, they found the same inn they had stayed at before.

Rhogan was taken to the stables while the group entered the building. Alessandra carried Kima in her arms, while Iryoku held the sleeping Kael.

“Sorry to bother you so late, old man. Can we get two rooms?” Iryoku asked the innkeeper.

The gruff demihuman owner glanced over the group, noting the dirt on their clothes and the tired kids.

“Tch. But I’m charging an extra fee for the time.”

Iryoku tossed a few coins onto the counter without complaint.

They made their way to the rooms and gently laid the children on one of the beds.

Alessandra turned to the group.

“How are we going to split the rooms?”

Iryoku grinned, eyes flicking toward Yumi and Reika—who immediately noticed his expression.

Both girls flushed slightly. Even now, in front of their sensei, they still felt shy about openly showing affection to Iryoku.

Reika cleared her throat and spoke first.

“Since this room has the bigger bed, all the girls and the kids will sleep here. The gentleman”—she avoided making eye contact with Iryoku—“will sleep in the other room. Right?”

She glanced at Alessandra and Yumi for support. They nodded, already beginning to unpack their things.

But Iryoku didn’t move.

He stood silently, arms crossed, staring at the backs of Reika and Yumi. The weight of his gaze was palpable—so intense it froze them in place.

If I don’t move, maybe he won’t see me, they both thought, stiff as statues.

Alessandra stretched.

“I’m tired… but I want to wash up first.”

Then she paused, sensing the tension in the air. Both girls looked nervous, and Iryoku was still standing there—silent and unmoving.

With a sigh, he finally turned and headed for the door.

The girls felt the shift and exhaled at once.

Yumi and Reika breathed in relief.

But just before stepping out, they heard him click his tongue.

Their hearts sank slightly.

A strange, unspoken heaviness settled over them.

Iryoku stood under the shower, letting the water wash away the grime and tension of the day.

“That felt great…” he muttered as he stepped out, dried off, and dropped into bed with a long sigh.

Just as his eyes began to close—

Knock knock.

He groaned and sat up.

“Who is it?”

A soft, muffled voice answered:

“Ahh… It’s me.”

He raised an eyebrow, already annoyed.

“What? We don’t accept visitors after hours. Try again tomorrow… or better yet, never.”

His voice was low and dismissive.

Another knock followed.

“Open the door… I wanted to talk.”

This time her voice came sharper, tinged with frustration.

“Are you seriously going to leave a lady waiting out in the hallway?”

He sighed and opened the door.

There she was—Reika.

Her long black hair was slightly damp, as if she had just stepped out of the shower. She wore a simple purple top and black shorts—clothes Iryoku had bought her the last time they stayed here. The outfit accentuated her long, shapely legs and natural, model-like curves. Her face was flushed, and she fidgeted nervously in the hallway.

“…Maybe this was a bad idea…” she muttered, voice uncertain as she turned to leave.

But before she could take a step, Iryoku—already dressed—stepped out behind her.

She froze, bracing herself, half-expecting him to pounce…

But he didn’t.

Instead, he walked past, casually heading down the stairs.

“W-What? Where are you going?” she asked, flustered.

His face remained unreadable, his voice as lazy as ever.

“I don’t know… I want to check out the town. Maybe I’ll find a woman who actually wants to warm my bed.”

Reika’s eyes widened.

“What?! Are you seriously going to… to find harlots? I didn’t think you were that kind of guy!”

He gave a nonchalant shrug.

“Don’t worry about it.”

Then added in a half-mocking tone:

“I have my needs. And if I don’t get them at home, I’ll find them elsewhere. Simple as that.”

He turned and continued walking.

Reika rushed after him, grabbing his wrist.

“Please don’t go!” she blurted.

“Yumi and I… we talked, okay? Just… can we go back inside? We’ll wake the neighbors if we keep this up…”

Iryoku glanced at her, his tired eyes unreadable.

Then, suddenly, a grin spread across his face.

In one swift motion, he scooped her up in a bridal carry and turned back toward the room.

“Ahh!” Reika squeaked.

“Shhh,” he whispered with a teasing smirk.

“You’re gonna wake the other guests.”

Her body squirmed in his arms, her face crimson with embarrassment.

Even after they entered the room and he closed the door behind them, she kept struggling lightly.

He leaned in close, his face inches from hers.

She turned away, too shy to meet his gaze—eyes squeezed shut, just waiting for him to do whatever he wanted.

But then—

He clicked his tongue again and shook his head.

Quietly, he walked over to the bed and gently laid her down.

She stayed still, eyes shut tight.

A moment passed.

Then, cautiously, she opened her eyes and looked up.

Iryoku stood there with his arms crossed, gaze turned to the side, his face serious.

“Eh… Iryoku?” she asked softly, unsure.

He sighed.

“You know I’d never make you do something you don’t want to.”

Then, after a pause, he added,

“I love you.”

Her heart leapt—and then sank just a little at what he said next.

“But… I’m not here to beg for scraps, either. Even a shameless guy like me has some pride. If the woman I’m pursuing doesn’t show interest back… then that’s that. I’ll only try so many times.”

His voice was calm. Soft. Resolute.

A quiet ache bloomed in her chest.

Without a word, she turned her back to him and pulled the blanket over her head.

Then, in a whisper so soft it was nearly lost in the silence—

“…I’m scared…”

“I’m sorry…” she added faintly, curling up beneath the sheets.

The blanket rustled as she squirmed—like she was wrestling with her thoughts, or even with herself.

Iryoku frowned slightly… then let out a quiet chuckle.

Finally, Reika lifted a corner of the blanket—just a little. An unspoken invitation. Thɪs chapter is updated by N0v3l.Fiɾe.net

He undressed, leaving only his underwear on, and slipped in beside her. The warmth under the covers was immediate, but what stood out more was the sound of her heartbeat—

fast, loud, like a motor running at full speed.

She faced away from him, still turned toward the wall.

He moved gently and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.

A big, stiff thing landed right against her soft, perfect ass—making her shudder.

He breathed her in—she smelled warm, sweet, comforting. Slowly, he lowered his head to her neck, kissing along her nape. Careful. Tender. Loving.

Reika let out a quiet purring sound, eyes still closed.

But then, in a soft whisper:

“I spoke with Yumi…”

He paused, lifting his head to glance at her face. She was looking down, hesitant.

She continued, her voice low.

“While Sensei was in the shower… Yumi told me she wanted to come here. She wanted to keep you company. She’s really dutiful, you know…”

She finally turned, meeting his eyes.

“But I asked her to stay… and let me come instead. I…”

Her gaze dropped again.

“She told me what happened between you two. While Sensei and I weren’t with you. The good things… the bad things… the things you did.”

Iryoku’s expression was unreadable.

“Everything?” he asked quietly.

Reika nodded, slowly.

“She said… you hurt the princess.”

He inhaled deeply.

“It’s true,” he said, voice calm.

“I’m a bad person. I’ve killed. I’ve tortured. And… I raped Agnes. I won’t deny it. I did it. But now… now that you know who I really am—what I’ve become—I still want you as my woman.”

He looked straight at her, unwavering.

“So tell me… what do you have to say?”

Silence.

Then, still looking down, Reika spoke.

“You’re the enemy of women… I think you should be c-castrated.”

Her voice started sharp, but cracked near the end.

His gaze didn’t flinch.

Then, out of nowhere, she gave a crooked smile.

“We really are a bunch of dumb girls, huh? Yumi and I. Maybe even Sensei.”

She looked up at him, her eyes clear.

“We’ve fallen hard… all the way to the bottom of hell, into the clutches of this woman-eating demon…”

A beat—then a small laugh.

“More like an insatiable incubus.” She added.

Iryoku broke into a wide grin.

“Well, that’s the only goddamn thing I’m grateful for after getting dragged into this shithole of a world… Back on Earth, I wouldn’t have stood a chance with any of you. No looks, no money… and knowing how to fight doesn’t mean jack shit anymore in that society.”

Reika shook her head, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

“I think you’re you—no matter where you are. You’re the kind of man who always stands tall.”

He leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips.

“Thanks for that, my love.”
