Chap 153: side characters perspective
At the Gojo's clan estate.
A girl sat on the porch of her house, her beautiful, pure blue eyes staring at nothing in particular. And yet.
"Miss Gojo, the clan head wanted to see you." A servant said, bowing down behind her.
"Again?" She said annoyingly, "Tell her I won't change my decision."
"I-" the servant trembles, his body shaken.
"Never mind." She said, "I'll go myself." Adjusting her curse energy output so the man won't pass out.
In this place, which is called her home, ironically, she felt less like a home. As she walked past the line of servants and clan members, all showed the same emotion.
Fear.
How ironic that the grown-ups who always taught her cannot tell her what to do. She learn by herself, she lives by her own rules, the closest person she sees as an equal in this family is her mother.
Someone who has rarely been a part of her life, since her birth, she was only around to teach her how great she is and how she must strive to be the strongest. Every time she spoke about it, Gojo Satori could only yawn.
Strongest ? Isn't she already?
Her curse technique and eyes are a gift from heaven. It took her less than a year to learn it, and a second year to learn how to use her eyes
And after that, no one has ever been able to touch her. Her limitless is without a doubt, the strongest technique in all of Jujutsu history.
Rival by only one. And as she has heard, used by only one.
"Hey," Gojo spoke casually to the clan head, strolling into the main room.
"It would do you well to have some manners, daughter." Kara Gojo said in a blank tone.
Kara Gojo was in her formal robe, a blue and white kimono. Standing in the middle of the room, she looked like she had been pacing around for a good while now.
Her blue eyes pick up the smallest detail of anger and displeasure from her mother. She hid it well, but it is clear that the topic made her movements slower than usual. Normally, she wouldn't let it slip when around Gojo, her gaze also picked up on the many stares of the clan members in the room.
Theirs is much more obvious, since they can't hide it so well, it was jealousy and discontended. It was clear as day to her how the upper echelon of the clan treated her.
"Whatever, I came to tell you that I'll be joining the Tokyo Jujutsu High."
"Despite my order?" Her blood flow is moving faster now. It means the older woman is getting angrier the more they talk about it.
"Damn right despise your stupid order."
“I only want what’s best for you. That lowly place isn’t worthy of a Gojo status.”
"Fuck the status, you can shove it all the way up inside your vagina and make a new baby with it."
The shift in Kara’s face was immediate, her nostrils flared, her composure cracking as her anger rose like heat under her skin.
"You won't dare!" Kara’s expression twisted, frustration bleeding through her mask of authority. Replaced by swelling fury.
"Won't I?" Satori didn't flinch at all, she let out a soft, mocking laugh, tilting her head, white lashes lowering over amused blue eyes.
“Then stop me,” she whispered, grin widening as her mother stiffened. “Go on, Clan Head. If you can.”
Both women let their curse energy fill the air, Satori's pure blue matching Kara's own deep sea version of the color.
At such a young age, the prodigy was equal to the clan head's curse pool. Standing shorter than her mom, Gojo showed no sign of being the lesser. She stood firm, eyes staring straight up in all her pride.
The young Gojo knew her mother hated being challenged, especially when it was someone who could outright beat her. And while Gojo isn't quite at the level where she can confidently beat her mother with ease.
She can still win a fight with her. Kara Gojo hadn't been able to raise her own power for quite some time now, she has reached her max potential, as they would put it.
"If you keep standing in my way, I won't hesitate to leave the clan." That seemed to shut her up real quick, as much as she hated this arrogant child, she's still at heart a mother and a clan leader. She wanted the best for Gojo.
And the best is to be on top, it's just how the world works.
Not for her, not for Satori Gojo, who was bored by this world, by these people who surround her like vultures. Only expecting her greatness while they themself do nothing.
Gojo really wishes she couldn't see them, but her eyes showed her regardless of her wants. It showed her everything, down to the smallest of details.
"The entrance ceremony starts next week, I'll get prepared to leave, bye."
Over at the hideout of Senjaku.
She stood at the edge of the surf, the evening sun turning the waves molten gold. Her long, dark hair, streaked with faint lavender where exposed stitches traced her forehead, lifted gently in the sea breeze.
A faint smile curved her lips, one that never quite reached her eyes, those cool, watchful eyes that glimmered like something evaluating prey rather than scenery.
Behind her, a curse spirit trudged across the sand, her steps heavy and impatient, the volcano-like ridge of her head glowing faintly with irritation.
Each time the surf splashed against her feet, steam hissed upward in thin, angry curls. “I don’t see why we’re wasting time here,” she muttered, the narrow slit of her single eye burning hotter with annoyance.
Next to her, a curse spirit covered with flowers followed more quietly, their movement deliberate and soft. With bark-like skin and moss draped across their shoulders, they knelt to touch the sand, watching tiny crabs scuttle away. The gentle nod of their head showed appreciation for the natural world. Even a fake one as they watch the third curse spirit floating along the coast of this beach.
The third one, innocently relaxed in the water, unbothered by the important chatting, she didn't seem to care at all, with her eyes closed. Her octopus mouth was blowing bubbles into the sea like it was her own bathtub.
"Just wait, while the world is in the state of unknown, it is best we wait for the water to be calm so we can make the best move," Kenjaku said.
"Exactly, everywhere, the humans are in turmoil, with each other, with our kind, it is the best course of action for us to attack them now."
"Hasty move." Senjaku sat up in her recliner chair. "You think they are so busy? It is precisely because the world is in this chaotic condition that they are at the highest level of vigilance."
Jujutsu society going public is something she would not expect. Such action causes the normal people's negative emotions to rise uncontrollably, and yet the High Council still chooses to follow through with this decision.
"We wait for what exactly?" the volcano curse spirit asked, "More of our kin are born and killed each hour of the day, and the rest of the world isn't going to stay idle for long."
Revealing the existence of curse energy has been a decision bringing more trouble than it is worth. Now that Japan as a country has shown itself, the other nation must also make their choice.
On the political table of the earth, there has never been a more heated situation since the last world war. With curses rising every day to an insane degree, only Japan has the least amount of disturbance.
Thanks to the existence of the big three clans and lord Tengen's barrier, the country is largely safe.
Any nation or land with a large amount of population is being constantly at odds of being prey for curse spirit.
"If we were to make a move right now, all the clans would have their eyes honed in on us, and we would be squashed before anything can be done." The curses didn't like the sound of it, even if it made perfect sense.
"So we have to watch our kin scream in pain as they die." The volcano curse said.
Curses are born out of negative emotion; the bigger the amount, the stronger and smarter the curse spirit. And the current density of worldwide negative emotion has caused many special grades to be born. Instead of watching fellow curses die in vain, if they can add them to their fold, then humanity stands no chance.
"Such is the shame, the newborn curses have low intelligence, lack cohesion, and a sense of cooperation to work with us. I think it would be better if we take in those who can listen to reason, it would serve our goal much more than the senseless ones."
"This has nothing to do with that human, does it?" She asked, suspicion laced behind her words.
"Just a tiny bit, he and I are working together."
"Hmm, whatever, I'm going out, Sagon open the domain."
"Okay~" replied the cute octopus curse, a door appeared for her and the flower curse spirit to exit.
