Quick Transmigration: The Mad Beauty Refuses to Be the Scapegoat!

Chapter 620 - 12: Cannon Fodder Bootlicker in the Beast World Farming Novel (Part 12)

"Alai."

The two of them were both warriors in the Hunting Group before. Although they didn’t interact much, they grew up together since childhood and were quite familiar with each other.

But Jiang Lai used to revolve around Hei Yao and never paid attention to this silent young tribesman in the team.

"Let’s go, while the snow hasn’t gotten heavy."

"Where to?"

"My tribe."

Hearing this, Ayuan thought she had joined another tribe and shook his head.

"No other tribe will take us in now."

They were injured and couldn’t hunt, only consume food. With the cold wave coming, no tribe would take in such burdens.

Of course, Jiang Lai knew they were burdens.

But there was no choice, everything was for the mission.

"It’s okay; I’m the tribal leader. What I say goes. Stop talking nonsense. If you don’t want to wait for the Bear Clan to take revenge, then leave quickly."

Ayuan didn’t ask any more questions and, along with the leader, helped all the old wolves move little by little towards the depths of the forest.

Jiang Lai brought up the rear, using a wolf tail to smooth the footprints they’d left in the snow, while also sprinkling some tree sap collected from trunks to mask their scent.

The group kept moving until dusk, and when they suddenly saw a tall wall of wooden stakes ahead, everyone was stunned.

This wall was made entirely of tree trunks, very sturdy and tall. Even the most agile of the Wolf Clan couldn’t jump over it.

Besides, the wall was lined with iron spikes that looked extremely solid and sharp.

After entering the wall, what immediately came into view was a vast expanse of farmland not far away, filled with all sorts of grain, even many they’d never seen before!

Outside, it was a world of ice and snow, barren and withered, but within the walls, it was full of life and vibrancy.

Not far away, amidst the tangled and lush vines, were large green-skin melons the size of heads hiding within.

No one had seen them before, but their keen sense of smell caught the sweet scent inside even through the rind.

In addition, the neatly lined fields in the distance were filled with a dazzling array of vegetables.

Though they hadn’t seen them before, they were certain these were edible, and delicious at that.

The sweet aroma of food filled their noses, making all the Wolves standing there involuntarily swallow their saliva.

Before they could recover from the shock brought on by the sight of such bountiful food, turning their heads revealed a towering log house that made them question if they were dreaming.

Rising from the ground like a giant tree, layer upon layer, it seemed as if stabilized by magic.

"Am I about to die? Why am I hallucinating?"

"I also feel like I’m dying; I see a huge house, and it’s glowing."

"Is that food? That’s food, isn’t it?"

Jiang Lai, still carrying a crossbow, looked at these Wolves, who were chattering in astonishment, and then smiled.

"This is my tribe. I’m the leader here. Since you’ve entered my territory, remember one thing: listen to me.

This is the only rule here: follow my orders, do what I tell you to do.

If you obey, I can assure your survival. If not, I’ll use this thing in my hand to drive you out."

Everyone clearly saw that Jiang Lai used the weapon in her hand to defeat the Bear Clan effortlessly.

With their hearts full of doubts, everyone nodded repeatedly.

Without much further ado, Jiang Lai led them into the courtyard and served them food.

Nothing fancy, just a big bowl of plain white rice, along with steamed potatoes and pumpkins.

But for these long-hungry Wolves, these things were nothing short of a feast.

At first, Ayuan was a bit wary, but after confirming that Jiang Lai was the only one in the entire tribe, he sat down as well.

However, he didn’t join the others in eating; he silently sat by the side, watching as the old Wolves devoured the food.

One of them choked, and Jiang Lai brought them some water.

"Eat slowly, there’s more in the pot."

The big bowl of rice, weighing over ten pounds, along with the ten pounds of potatoes and pumpkins, was completely devoured by the Wolves.

Seeing they were still unsatisfied, the rice in another pot happened to be cooked.

Jiang Lai brought out another big bowl.

"Alright, Ayuan, the rest is for you."

Ayuan shook his head.

"You all eat first."

The leader directly pushed the bowl towards him.

Seeing everyone else was full, Ayuan pulled the bowl closer to him, grabbed a handful of rice, and ate it with large bites like an unfeeling machine.

He finished the bowl with little effort.

The wooden bowl was spotless, cleaner than if it had been washed with water.

Jiang Lai could see he wasn’t full.

Yet he was very satisfied, heaving a sigh of relief and then silently looking towards Jiang Lai.

Everyone looked at her.

After eating, everyone was curiously staring at the glowing bulb above them, which was extremely bright.

Still, it was best to ask fewer questions. After the recent fierce battle, they had no strength left to concern themselves with such things.

The leader took the initiative to speak.

"Alai, thanks to your help this time; otherwise, none of us would be alive now."

"You all watched me grow up. When faced with danger, I couldn’t just watch you get eaten by the Bear Clan. Let me treat your injuries first, and then we’ll discuss once you recover."

Jiang Lai settled them in a wooden house nearby, with a five-meter long bed lined with straw.

Next to the bed was a brazier with lively burning firewood.

The house was dry and warm.

Drearily simple conditions, but for these aging Wolves, it was already the best place to heal.

Not only safe, but very warm too.

Including Ayuan, there were nine Beastmen, all residing in this room.

Jiang Lai helped cleanse their wounds, applied herbal medicine, and then wrapped them with linen.

Though each had some limb missing, for the Wolves, these were not life-threatening. With sufficient food and rest, the wounds would soon scab over and heal.

Having settled them in, Jiang Lai called Ayuan out.

"Do me a favor, and go to the tribe with me once more."

Ayuan didn’t ask anything. He nodded and went along with her.

When they arrived, he didn’t question what she intended to do. Jiang Lai asked him to bring out all the carts from the tribe, and then together they headed into the fenced area behind the tree house.

As Jiang Lai was about to enter, Ayuan stopped her.

"It’s dangerous. Don’t go in."

He was the one who fainted after entering here, causing the tribe to be attacked by the Bear Clan.

Jiang Lai directly handed him a water flask.

"Drink the water inside."

Ayuan was somewhat curious but didn’t hesitate. He picked up the flask and drank it down.

"Finished it."

"Alright, go in. You won’t be poisoned again."
