161- The Fall of Solont (1)
Everywhere on the Solont planet, the operation to take their city and the center of their political and economic life was in progress.
Tatsumi then realized that there was a device on the sentries, which he assumed to be a detector.
‘This is gonna be troublesome.’ Tatsumi thought but decided not to hide.
If everyone were eliminated, then no one would know he was there. He then raised his left hand and he aimed the pistol at the head of the rodent, who was actually the soldier of their municipality.
The rodent was a transcendent but unfortunately not a high one so the shot from the high-caliber pistol hit his head and the rodent realized that the bullet was already hitting him. He channeled his transcendent energy to his head to resist but unfortunately, the bullet was a bit special as it was imbued with the ability to temporarily reject transcendent energy.
The rodent’s head then exploded with a fanfare of blood and white matter. But Tatsumi already moved to the other soldier whose back could be seen as its attention was on the dead rodent.
“Enemy-“
Before he said something in the rodent’s language, Tatsumi had already silenced him by thrusting the Dragonsbane into its back and got out on his chest while pressing on the mouth of the rodent.
“Tch, blood splatter.” Tatsumi knew that these soldiers would not listen to him without a demonstration of power.
Then he sensed that someone raised their weapon at him, attacking him with transcendent power. Before that rodent could do that, a shot came and hit him in the head. Even if the rodent knew that the shot was coming, it was the same case as the one Tatsumi shot.
The shot came from a distance. It was Ame who helped him.
Tatsumi let out a thumbs-up at her direction before he went deeper into the outpost.
Ame had to move slightly so that she could protect Tatsumi from a distance. This was done so that both of them could eliminate or retreat when something unexpected happened.
Tatsumi, seeing the enemy start to converge, then dashed to the while unsheathing the Dragonsbane and did a slash imbued with Dragon Blood’s power as well as transcendent power.
The soldiers then formed a shield to block the flying slash but it was futile. The slash broke the shields and bisected them in two and it was the kind where recovery was nearly impossible.
Cries echoed out as several rodents were screaming in pain while the rest sobbed. A few even fainted with their entrails scattered around them.
‘That was just a casual attack with Dragon Blood and transcendent energy. I am not even opening the gates, yet they died so easily. Looks like they prioritized something over their own physical strength.’ Tatsumi concluded.
The rodents were strong at the Third Rank transcendence path but to Tatsumi, they were the weakest Third Rank transcendence. Although the human transcendence path prowess was actually a rank higher than what was shown, it was still notable to Tatsumi.
Those rodents, which were as big as a teenage human and walked on their hind legs, were easily eliminated. Tatsumi then realized that their physical bodies were not fit to be strengthened and there should be other aspects strengthened instead.
‘So what is it that compensates them? Wait…their numbers…that’s it! Their numbers are so numerous. In the city of Aachen alone, there were lots of them, almost reaching 15 million in population alone with their numbers. The rest are the other races that they have conquered.’ Tatsumi used his mental scan to envelop the entire Aachen city and found out about this while thinking.
This also confirmed the theory from some scientists that the number of rodents was quite a lot due to their reproduction capability. It surpassed that of the human race and even had some chance to threaten its own population.
Then Tatsumi heard several other gunshots and knew that Ame was sniping them.
“Do not move and do not resist.” Tatsumi screamed out loud, even using Primal Fear in it.
The incoming rodents’ soldier who heard that became paralyzed with extreme fear and even dropped their weapons, whether hot or cold.
Tatsumi at this time looked like a domineering existence that should not be defied. True to his words, Tatsumi did not kill those who listened to his words.
“Some of them truly obeyed.” Ame, who was on the vantage point, could see this scene and was glad. Then she changed her position so that she could cover Tatsumi.
She could hear what Tatsumi said and even felt slight fear. Fortunately, it was not directed at her; otherwise, even she would be greatly affected.
Tatsumi then made the surrendered rodents stand in a row as he put a cuff on them. This cuff could isolate the transcendent energy inside one’s body, preventing them from using it. Additionally, it was really hard to crack and was durable enough to withstand thousands of tons of pressure.
Ame then went down since she could not help much in her current position. She could be in any position from sniping to close quarter combat so she going down to Tatsumi’s position would definitely help at this moment.
Tatsumi then pressed a button on his wristwatch and saw the map of Aachen city and its surroundings. Others landed near him and decided to help them from another position.
Ame arrived and Tatsumi felt her presence as she watched over the prisoners. The surrendered rodents looked at Tatsumi as if he were some kind of dreadful monster in their imagination. They started to doubt whether their strongest transcendent could defeat Tatsumi.
“Are there nearby allies we need to reinforce?” Seeing the map hologram from Tatsumi’s wristwatch, Ame knew that there were allies near the Aachen city.
“Yes. I suppose we need to disperse. Will you be able to take care of things here?” Tatsumi asked while looking at her.
“The prisoners will be taken care of according to the protocol. As long as they are not trying anything funny.” Ame replied.
Just as she finished saying that, Tatsumi, Ame, and the citizens, as well as the prisoners, saw lights coming from up in heaven.
Then, the light hit another military garrison on the other part of the outskirts of the city. That place was where the allied forces headed.
Orbital Bombardment was in progress. But there was more.
-
The movement of the landing soldiers was smoothly done. They landed near the large cities of Solont, trying to converge on the nearest city from different directions. With the Orbital Bombardment as an opening act, they could clear most of the enemy garrison. But that was not enough.
At this time, the Silpheeds were ordered to support the ground troops.
At this order, Hatten became excited because he could finally eliminate the ground rodents.
“This is the Spacecraft Carrier Adrian. Our fleets have hijacked and hacked the internet of the Solont planet. The information has been sent to your terminal, so use it accordingly.” An announcement could be heard in the communication channel, and even Hatten was becoming more excited and expectant.
“We need to clear the armored division as well as the motorized infantry near us.” Hatten then listened carefully and realized that this communication channel was the closest to him.
“This is Happy Four, ready to help you.” Hatten said through the communication channel to them.
“Really? Good. I heard that the Silpheeds will be sent for close air support. I can’t believe it’s true.”
Hatten then directed the Silpheed toward the location marked on the map. It was the third continent near Aachen city.
After a few seconds of increased speed, Hatten finally arrived near the location. All he had to do was to fly over and rain missiles upon his enemy as well as the Vulcan gun.
“Happy Four, arriving at the airspace!” Hatten said spiritedly.
Since most of the defense was dealt with the Orbital Bombardment, few things could threaten the air superiority of the Federation.
Then Hatten locked on the target, several armored vehicles like tanks, main battle tanks as well as heavy tanks were clustered, making it easier to target with anti-armor missiles as well as Vulcan gun.
Hatten then pressed the button for the missiles and the Vulcan gun. The missiles streaked through the air at Mach 1 speed, almost instantly arriving at the enemy armored division and explosions could be heard and seen by the allied ground troops.
Then Hatten did a close air support by using the Vulcan gun, strafing the remaining enemy forces on the ground.
“Close air support done. Do you need another?” Hatten asked.
“No need for more. Thank you for your help.” A communication officer said and even thanked him with a grateful tone.
The enemy forces was so small compared to before, since the close air support was so effective.
This did not happen on Hatten’s Silpheed and the Aachen city vicinity but on a global scale. Every large city was attacked by the Federation troops and the enemy ground forces were forced to take losses due to their loss of air superiority.
The entire Solont planet was engulfed in the world war and sadly, the internet was cut off by the Federation, making the citizens unable to inform the other planets about their situation.
“Report to the captain, the isolation barrier has been built around the planet.” The adjutant reported the progress of the task at hand.
The captain nodded with a hardened gaze. This first move from them would undoubtedly be seen as an aggression by the enemy. But they could not let the enemy know about their full capability yet.
“Let the Glings’ Fleet recover first, as we sent them some corpses from the casualties from both sides. They needed the bioenergy in it to be able to use them as fuel either for regeneration or for producing units.” The captain said.
The Glings were responsible for guarding the outer perimeter of the Solont planet to stall the reinforcements that were coming to them.
But to optimize the Glings’ Fleets, they needed bioenergy and the corpses from both sides were needed.
The adjutant knew that even an incomplete corpse was still good, so he understood what the captain said was to collect as many corpses as possible. Even if it meant using their own people’s corpses as fuel and being seen as a heretic or even downright evil, the captain would shoulder all of that.
It also meant that the people who died would not have a body to be buried but with the concept of the Afterlife they had learned and rooted deep into their subconscious, everyone participating the Star Battle did not mind being used as a fuel if it meant that they could win.
After all, the Star Battle was a brutal occurrence and they should be as ruthless as possible, surpassing the enemy’s ruthlessness.
“Your order shall be fulfilled, captain.” The adjutant said before he sent the order to the rest of the fleet and the landing forces were on their way to collect the corpses of those who resisted.
As for the citizens, the Cerulean Defense Force strictly forbade its units from attacking them and even protecting them, unless being attacked first. Even then, only the ones who attacked were retaliated against. Although it made things harder, it showed that they still had a shred of conscience left.
As for those civilians who were on the military installations, sorry but you were already part of the military the moment you helped them so no hard feelings when they resisted.
Of course, the captain and everyone else knew that this was going to bring resentment to the civilians of the Solont planet, but they did not care. They were only responsible for maintaining order and doing things to enrich the world they lived in.
This enrichment of the world they lived in was actually the result of the realization that the Afterlife was dependent on the world of the living and the need to preserve that world became the main drive for the Federation people to be lenient to the civilians who were not part of the enemy forces.
That was the main situation on the surface of the Solont planet.
With the Silpheeds helping the ground troops as well as transcendents sent to the surface, the winning probability increased by 50%, hitting 90%. But everyone still did their job seriously.
They first eliminated the military presence before taking over the cities. They targeted large cities first since they were important for the economy and politics sector of the Solont planet. But the remote region was a bit untouched yet, and the enemy military presence shifted to those regions.
Even the captain of the Adrian Spacecraft Carrier knew that the resistance was using a guerrilla tactic. Sadly, it was quite a wasted effort since the Orbital Bombardment would take care of them, since the sensors on the spaceships could detect bioenergy as well as transcendent energy.
Even with an underground bunker and fortification, one shot from the main cannon of the spaceship was enough to raze it.
The overwhelming victory for the Cerulean Defense Force was due to using the Glings Suiciders, which affected the spaceships of the enemy, while the Silpheed helped hit crucial points in the spaceships' defensive formation.
But this information was sadly not received to the enemy HQ because the information was intercepted and changed dramatically. It could only buy the Federation and the Glings fleets some time, time which they needed to conquer the Solont planet.
Along with the overwhelming might of the forces that landed on Solont as well as support by Orbital Bombardment, the news was completely blocked and the Solont citizens saw that their protectors fell or surrendered to the so-called enemy in the Star Battle.
They were terrified. Rodents, Neurax Worm, Elf, and Crustacean, all of them were the races on the Solont planet that the Cerulean Defense Force had identified.
The Neurax Worm tried to invade the brains of the ground troops of the Cerulean Defense Force but all attempts proved futile since there was a chemical reaction that rejected the eggs of the Neurax Worm.
As for the rest, they could only temporarily obey the invaders since they were held hostage. The Cerulean Defense Force was also eliminating the remnant resistance military units by Orbital Bombardment or by sending the troops there.
Casualties on both sides were expected but the good news was that the Rodents were quite weak but a suggestion from Tatsumi showed that they became stronger together. That was why there was a tactic to separate the rodents from gathering.
-
On the Rodentia planet, the rodents' HQ for the Star Battle.
“Sir, we have lost all contact with the Solont planet.” A bipedal capybara was informing the Marshal behind him who was sitting on the honorary chair which provided comfort as well as prestige.
Sitting on that chair was a mouse as big as an adult human. Like the rodents’ race, he was also capable of walking with its hind legs but with the attire of a respected Marshal of the Rodents’ and the other races.
Their civilization was called the Yul Municipality. Both sides now at least knew each other as both sides suffered some kind of losses.
“The Federation truly is a monstrous entity. Just how could they let the Gling race cooperate?” The Marshal was wondering about this point.
The Suiciders was the opening move that the videos and information from the retreating fleet could reveal. They were still in the dark about the enhanced capability of the Silpheeds. The Silpheeds were actually deployed on the retreat but it did not gain much attention.
Something was preventing that information from being delivered, as if a hand of fate decided to intervene and help the Federation.
The Rodents’ Planet Master could see all that was going on but could not directly tell his race.
He had the appearance of a rat, with its tail slowly moving behind his throne.
Along with the fear of the Glings, which the Rodents had never encountered but had been informed of by their Great Rat God, the Rodents did not know the race that would become their major enemy.
“Hmm…wait a moment. That appearance…no way! That is the recently rising races in the community.” The Rodents Planet Master briefly looked at the main races of the enemy and found them similar in appearance to a race he knew.
The most potential race in the Third Rank section…the Human Race.
Furthermore, the ones who was sitting on the throne on the other side of the Planet Master Space was in similar appearance.
The Planet Master was actually in a state of disbelief before seeing the leader race of the enemy’s race, only then did he start to believe that his enemy was the human race and their Planet Master.
He was not confident in facing the human race since their potential was verified by the Universe Council and the Planet Master System. Additionally, he was someone who bullied the weak and feared the strong.
But he could not act weak since his subordinates saw him as their last hope.
What is that Rodents Planet Master doing? Dian looked at the shifty Rodents Planet Master and could not help but be confused by his actions.
When Dian let Chikara become the supreme leader for the offensive against the Rodents, the Great Rat God then became passive, as if…He was afraid of the Gling.
Right, the Gling has the reputation of being a strong race in the Planet Master System database. Dian knew the reason immediately and looked at the excited Chikara, who commanded the Queen and the Gling Swarm to prepare for any potential battle.
But what I also need to develop are the Undead race and the Elf race. They also need some kind of resources to develop further, especially the Undead. They have been oppressed to the point of an inferiority complex. Dian slowly thought of several possibilities where he could get those resources.
