Planet Master

154- Cerulean Planet’s Inner Part

One of the things that the current civilization could do was producing an almost limitless energy from its Nuclear Fusion Power Plants.

But what the civilization sought next was actually the very core of the mother planet itself. That was right, the core of the Cerulean Planet became the next objective of the people in the civilization right after the introduction of the Nuclear Fusion technology.

This project took the most energy since they needed to delve deep into the planet’s crust, to the mantle, then the outer core and inner core.

Several materials were delivered periodically since the drill needed to be sturdy against the heat of the inner part of the planet.

Specifically, an alloy that could withstand the heat of the surface of the sun was used. This material was usually used on the spaceship’s hull but now, it was used for the drill which tried to reach to the core.

As to why they did this, well they wanted to be able to conquer the entirety of the Cerulean Planet, their own mother planet.

“The drill has been connected to the mantle layer. It is made of Adamantium so you don’t need to worry, it would not melt at the mantle.” One engineer said while watching the screen which showed the progress of the device.

The drill was one part of this device. There were also magma pumps, which functioned as an alternate energy source used to extract geothermal energy from the inner part of the planet.

After drilling to the mantle, the civilization then entered the second phase which was to send a long tube to the mantle and then use the heat.

“We can now let the special tube enter the hole. When it reaches the mantle, proceed to the third phase.” The dwarf engineer said.

Of course, the Planet Masters did not miss this opportunity and talked about this event fervently.

“Look at them! They can finally accomplish things that were not possible decades ago.” Leif heartily said while pointing at the scene.

“Yes, yes. You are right. This means that the exploration of the civilization toward the Cerulean Planet has reached another stage. They first scoured the ground on which they stood, then they sailed toward the sea. After that, they started to go out from their own planet and then they explored the deep sea for exploration and resource-gathering purposes before going to the deepest part of the mother planet itself.” Chikara added.

“The exploration of the sea and its depth is also thanks to my race too, alright.” Arowana grumbled. It was clearly the merfolk who helped the civilization in exploring the sea and its depth so he felt that his race was contributing to the progress.

“So far so good.” Dian said while he also focused on the other matter.

He was busy with multiple perspectives, but as his rank increased, his existence power also had a dramatic increase which affected his way of thinking and could even do parallel thinking. But even with that, it was still not enough to watch over the multi-racial civilization that he and the other had guided to build.

The biology technology tree has been developing since the civilization has sample from the Planet Behemoth. The weaponry for the infantry is also developing in an effective manner. As for the spacefaring technology, it doesn’t need to be said that they develop the biggest and has the biggest impact on the way of life.

Dian blinked, and the screen in front of him changed to the current engineer's view as he drilled to the center of the planet.

And then there is this. To completely conquer the planet, the civilization even dared to plan and carry out this thing. How bold of them, those wise old men from the Federation. Dian could not help but marvel at the boldness and courage of those old men.

Although they were old, there was still some flame of their youth in them. Add to that, they also listened to the younger generation and shifted their thoughts accordingly, creating this miraculous effect.

Dian had to admit that this was a rare miracle in which everyone strove to do their best and affected the entire civilization.

[Name: Planetary Drill

Rank :3

Description: The drill is capable of going through the deepest part of a planet. Can be constructed on the ground and, with the right material, could even go through the heat mantle and the planet’s core. Beware that affecting the inner part of the planet affects the entire planet. You have been warned.]

Dian saw the Technology Tree entry and could see the description of the thing used. It also looked like this was the end of the branches of the tree since this was appearing at the end without any further possible branches.

“Digging through the planet to its core, indeed, it is a good technology.” Dian marveled at the sight. Another potential energy source was found and since the demand for energy exponentially increased, the Nuclear Fusion Power Plant was clearly not enough to empower the civilization.

This was the matter of output. No matter how big an output the plant had, it was ultimately limited in the distribution method, such as the cable capable of withstanding such a huge electric current. Building too many nuclear fusion power plants would ultimately affect the planet’s gravity so the scientists had to place a limit at how many power plants could exist.

Now that another alternative energy source had been found, everyone suddenly wanted a share in it.

[Name: Magma Pumps

Rank: 3

Description: A pump that could move even the scorching magma in the inner part of the planet. It can be used to deliver heat to a geothermal energy power plant and increase its output. Be careful, since you are altering the magma of the planet, you are also affecting the tectonic movement of the planet as a whole. You don’t want to cause a tectonic calamity, don’t you?

Further Possible Technology: Star Heat Power Plant, Star Furnace]

Dian saw that this technology branched into the T4 category so he could only see the line connecting it to the further possible technology.

As for the warning, of course, Dian was aware of it. Too much exploitation could cause the planet to react in an unfavorable way.

Even the Planet Spirit warned him about the exploitation of the environment.

“Hey, wouldn’t it be dangerous if they kept it to the center of the planet?” Chikara asked.

“They will halt their drill first before further enhancing it and begin another phase. Of course, I understand your concern since the Planet Spirit told me about it. As long as they only use this one to make a geothermal power plant, then all is fine. Probably.” Dian replied with a serious tone.

“Probably? There is a possibility that they will penetrate the Undead Secret Realm. How will you handle that?” Ghylea asked since this matter was related to the Undead.

“They will only drill until they hit the inner core. You can watch this.” As if knowing what concerned Ghylea, Dian just showed something to him.

The engineer and the scientists were in a joint venture to make sure that the drill would only be allowed to touch the inner core and not push deeper since they finally knew for certain that the Undead Secret Realm was in the core of the planet.

“I remember that the core of the planet is the Undead Secret Realm. Is that really true?” the engineer asked since he did not know much about the transcendent who used undead element.

The scientist, who was actually a Birdman with a monocle looked at the engineer as if he were an uninformed person and replied with a trace of pity, “Of course it is true. There are currently two entrances to the Undead Secret Realm and we have calculated that the entrances lead to the core of the planet with certainty. There is no doubt that the Undead Secret Realm is in the core of the planet.”

“I see. Hmm, that is why we shouldn’t dig deeper. Not only the planet’s inner core but the Undead Secret Realm will be affected. No wonder they gave me a stern warning not to dig more deeper than the outer core.” The engineer said with a grin.

Both of them knew that the people who warned were actually the elders of the Federation and the other scientists.

“Other than those restrictions, you are free to do things with minimal restriction.” The scientist said. He then went out from the room and spread his wings on his back before he flew away to another location.

“Remember, Dwarf. Minimal restriction.” The scientist’s sound reverberated which was heard by the dwarf inside the room while the door was slightly ajar.

“Alright, alright. I remember the restrictions, keep doing what you must do.” The engineer said while grinning. Then he checked the current situation of the drill, which had already reached the mantle and still going deeper.

“Whoa, he really is fearless.” Smirth commented.

“What is it?” Ghylea lazily looked at the screen before his flame flickered and burned fiercely.

“What the heck is that person doing?” Arowana stared at the person on the screen, unable to look away.

“He is descending toward the inner part of the planet!” Frie exclaimed.

Dian then shifted his gaze and another panel screen appeared in front of him, showing exactly what had happened in that place.

A transcendent was tasked with maintaining the drill and had to descend to ensure that the extension and the drill were working.

He was not only a transcendent but also a technician suitable for this. Therefore, he had to take this job seriously, otherwise people would only know he died doing something.

“Even at the second major realm, along with the suit that can withstand heat and scorching material in the mantle, I am still not completely sure that someone can withstand things for long there.” The transcendent said.

Even though the probability of safety was ninety-nine percent, that one percent could turn things around and make things hard for him. That was why he was not sure about all of this.

But this also counted as a test for endurance for a transcendent and a technological suit to be able to descend.

“Well, if you feel like unable to endure, you need to go back. There is a specific device showing you the wear and tear of the protective suit. It is better to leave when it still has some durability left and ascend to return. Otherwise, even if you have been doing Body Refining to the second Rank, you will still suffer.” The engineer went to the drill site since this descent was taking place and everyone involved had to watch and remind the diver about this.

“Sure thing. The tightness of the inner part of the planet is not to be underestimated afterall. Well…here I go.” Along with those words, the transcendent then closed the visor and slowly used the Adamantium rope to descend.

Inside his suit, there was a camera that showed his progress and depth. This was done to show everyone that the diver was doing his job.

The transcendent’s breath was in a certain rhythm that everyone watching could hear it.

“I am slowly going down the crust. This gonna be long, so be patient.” The transcendent knew that the camera was recording live feed so he made that comment.

Although it was slow, it was still descending with the elevator that he descended. Until a certain point, the elevator was going to bring the transcendent down.

It took quite some time to reach the limit between the crust and mantle. Once the elevator arrived at the limit, it stopped since it was the maximum descend it could be allowed. Even the heat was enough to bother the elevator and the transcendent was feeling the heat.

Although the effect was limited since he also practiced Body Refining Technique and this heat was suitable for that.

“I can see that the drill is still descending further. Proceed to following the trail.” He said as he started to move in his protective suit. The protective suit was designed to withstand extreme heat in the inner part of the planet.

The heat started to affect the suit while the transcendent also felt the pressure coming from around him.

“This suit is designed to withstand both heat and pressure. I am not sure about the details but with this I can go deeper than any person.” He commented as he descended further and further.

The tight place caused him to be careful and he kept gripping his rope. The rope was his only way of ascending back to the limit level where the elevator waited.

Bright red mixed with orange could be seen around him and the camera feed was slightly affected in such depth.

But the live feed was fine and the transcendent commented once more.

“Whoa, I can feel my body reacting to the pressure and heat. I can train my body while doing my job. Such a good deal.”

The people who watched the feed chuckled. They did not expect that the transcendent had such a joke. But to them, it also sounded like not a joke either so this lighten the mood.

The objective was to see how far the protective suit could go while a transcendent wore it. Any development had to be observed objectively and the safety of the transcendent had also been calculated.

Descending further and further, the transcendent felt he was being squeezed tightly around the drill's extension, feeling slightly suffocated as the pressure increased dramatically.

“Now I am one hundred percent sure that this depth has reached the mantle. The molten rock here feels like viscous liquid, which I don’t like, but I need to go to the limit, am I?” the transcendent commented.

“I have broken through the limit layer between the Asthenosphere and the mantle. I can even feel the tectonic plate moving here. Sure as heck that this is truly a case of going to the depths of the planet.” The transcendent grinned at his situation.

He could feel his body being refined through pressure and heat. He could hear a soft rumble as he realized that his body had adapted to the condition and was improving in overall aspect.

“How admirable.” Dian commented.

He did not expect that someone would dare to go to the inner part of the planet through the hole that the Planetary Drill had opened. It was risky and actually a bit unnecessary but curiosity got the better of the scientists and now they tried this voluntary experiment.

Of course, Dian felt that this was safer rather than letting the low-realm transcendent go down there.

“That transcendent used the environment to refine his body.” Smirth said as he let the others know what the transcendent was doing.

“Refining the body through tempering of pressure and heat. That is a way to strengthen the body.” Leif nodded, like he had gained something new from the display.

The transcendent of course reached a certain point where he felt that he could not go any longer and he detected a faint stream of undead element around him.

“This is it, guys. I cannot go on anymore, and the suit is practically almost unable to endure. Let’s see, the depth is 2.000 kilometers. This is as far as I go for now but if I break through further in my heavenstage or in my body refining as well as the improvement of the suit, I may come here once more. Now, back to the elevator.” The transcendent commented to let the people on the other side knew through the camera which was slowly letting the signal out as he pulled the rope that was not melted by the molten rocks.

“Two thousand kilometers in…that’s not something that my race is capable of yet.” Chikara thought about her race as she had a certain idea in her head regarding the Gling’s resistance.

“You can try to let your race slowly acclimate to the extreme weather in one planet before digging into the inner part of the planet.” Dian commented after hearing her words.

“I’ll try it now.” Chikara then contacted her Queen to do this task.

“Now that she is busy, should we do something about our slowing development in Technology and Transcendent Tree?” Frie said with a somber tone.

Dian sighed helplessly. Without a great threat to the civilization’s existence, the development had hit a slump and started to develop slowly.

He could not even blame his race and the others, instead, he needed to find a way to solve this matter.

From what he knew, competitive development could indeed generate development progress for the Technology and Transcendent Tree. One of its form was from doing Star Battle. It was basically a competition between the two sides over who could defeat the others better.

But although it could ignite the competitive spirit, it could also exhaust the reserve that the civilization had gathered. War meant that resources were spent and those who had better logistics more often than not won the war of attrition.

Without those, Dian did not dare to casually enter the Third Rank Star Battle. He believed that the scale and the resources needed to maintain a high morale and supply had exponentially increased more than before.

“Until when can I do it, I wonder?” Dian asked himself.

He wanted to be able to rise in ranks as soon as possible but the prerequisite for that was that he needed to be patient in his move.

He could not just force his race to speed up the progress of their development as it would be more detrimental for their own good.

But Dian had a feeling that the time for him to initiate a Star Battle was soon approaching. All he could do for now was to warn everyone about it.
