Royal Princess of Blood

Vol. 5 Chapter 138: Flee Like Rabbits (Part 5)

I replenished the blood on my blade as I heard a group of demons coming up our asses. I surely hoped I wouldn’t get fucked up by losing a lot of blood. An imp rushed directly at me, but again, Velar got in the way. Given that the demon’s priority was me, too caught up in catching me, Velar managed to hit the imp across the arm, severing it.

As steam rose from the injury, the demon screamed. “Aaah! It hurts! Fuck!” He quickly attempted to withdraw. But before he could escape, I threw my dagger and struck him on the back of his head.

If we could kill a demon, best to do it while we had the chance. We wouldn’t want one to recover and come to bother us again later on. Getting hit in the brain with my holy blade should put them out of commission. At any rate, the demon group had surrounded us. I withdrew the dagger by the string. It was then that a giant demon jumped in and charged at Velar.

“Get her!” the giant shouted. It swung its fist at Velar, and the latter swung his greatsword against its fist. The ravager recoiled backward, surprised as his skin was pierced so easily. “Damn.”

What a relief that Velar’s holy magic was working. This was the first time he had used it against a demon. Getting tested straight to the battlefield, fucking bullshit. I was about to assist Velar and get rid of the ravager quickly, but I realized an imp was coming my way.

“Sure they won’t mind you getting hurt a bit!” He had his claws out.

“Nira!” I shouted. And Nira jumped in front of me and received the blow. The claws pierced through her.

The demon was shocked. “A kid?”

Nira let out her claws and clenched onto the demon’s arm, her claws digging into skin. The demon tried to shake her off, but to no avail. I moved in towards the demon’s back with a spin and subsequently severed his head in a smooth motion. With my blood-enchanted weapon, cutting through things made things easy. I stabbed his head.

“Nira, keep me guarded.” Nira was my shield right now. What? Using a kid as a meat shield is bad? Then what’s her purpose for being here then? Besides, she’s not just any normal kid. “Hold back anything from coming to me.”

Dammit, we have stopped moving.

I looked towards Hartwin, he was repelling an imp with his holy-imbued blade. He managed to damage the demon with his light strikes. At the same time, more demons started rushing at me altogether.

No choice.

I ran towards the ravager and swiftly leaped onto its back. I pushed my blades into it and injected my blood. At that, the ravager began going wild as pain spread ‌through its body, as poison spread through its blood. I jumped up in the air, and mid-air, lightning crackled on my hands. As I spun in the air, I shot powerful lightning bolts at the surrounding coming imps. The bolts blew the imps back into the forest, away from us. It should severely damage their bodies for the moment.

I landed back on the ground. Velar had landed a killing blow at the poisoned giant. “Taneva, switch to fighting on the ground. I’ll take care of those flying.”

Hartwin stabbed his opponent in the chest and turned towards me with a worried expression. “Are you sure about using your magic, Princess?!”

“Yes.”

Taneva should be more effective fighting on the ground and focus on defending me. That way, we won’t get held up, and we could continue running.

Once the path was clear, we continued sprinting through the forest.

“Want this?” Taneva held out the bow.

“No.” I glanced up at the sky and cast out mana all around me. Then, balls of icy magic appeared around me. I turned around and aimed at the flying imps and waved my hand. The icy magic launched towards the sky like arrows.

I kept conjuring more and more icy magic, like sending a cluster of missiles.

My icy magic hit several flying imps, and the moment it did, they were instantly encased in ice. They started falling from the sky. My ice was firm; it should keep them for a few minutes. My ice was not normal ice, they were formed with my magic, they should struggle to melt them.

“It baffles me how you could just make up magic spells from the get-go,” Taneva said.

“Magic is just shaping the mana to your wants, it’s not that hard.”

“If it’s that easy, everyone would be doing it. Is it because you’re a god…?”

That was just pooling some icy magic into some balls, basically compressing it. Then, once it hit, let out the icy magic within, ‌thus resulting in the instant freezing of the target. It wasn’t really that complicated. It was some sort of bomb — except instead of explosive material inside, there’s mana with ice attributes.

A large group of demons had caught up to us.

Taneva returned his bow to his inventory and pulled out his spear. He cast holy enchantment on his jade spear, and the spear’s blade glowed golden. He stopped and faced the pursuing army. “I’ll be right behind you. Keep going.”

I turned a glance toward him. “Don’t fall too far behind.” I would prefer not to get too far from the heavy hitter.

I continued shooting up at some remaining flying imps. At the same time, Taneva obliterated every demon he came across. When he swung his spear at the imp, a burst of light would erupt, vaporizing the demon completely. The other demons that saw it happen were shaken, and they hesitated to come close to him. It was absurd that he could just kill them in one hit.

I could sense that they wanted to flee from this certain death. However, they needed to come after me. Backing out now was not an option. Even if they refused to attack him, Taneva would still come himself and strike them down. A ravager crashed down on him from above. Taneva dodged, and at the same time, he swung down at the giant demon. He severed the giant’s arm, his attack rendered its hardened skin worthless. However, despite the injury, the ravager kept on attacking. After a smooth dodge, Taneva thrust his spear into the demon’s neck, a burst of light followed, severing the giant’s head from its body.

Still, considering the army of demons coming, he couldn’t hold them all back. Some demons slipped through him and started coming at us.

You can’t be serious, fuck. Too many.

It was then that I noticed the few remaining flyers descending back to the ground. They must be trying to keep it low so I couldn’t attack them. They could be flying above the trees, or joining the ground forces.

Shit.

Slashes of flames came at us, as imps with flaming claws charged against my guards.

“Careful not to fucking kill her!”

An imp pounced at Velar as we kept sprinting away. Velar quickly deflected the blazing claws and swung at the demon. But he missed. Hartwin received a blast of flames, and he quickly cast a barrier to protect himself. Meanwhile, an imp tried to go straight to me, but Nira got in the way and attacked him. The imp grabbed her and violently slammed her to the ground.

I swung my stringed dagger, sent it lashing towards the demon imp, and lacerated its back deeply. The demon screeched in pain before quickly ‌retreating away. The good thing was that Nira would be fine getting hit by me, so I didn’t have to worry much about friendly fire when it involved her.

I swung the string towards an imp rushing towards me and lacerated her from the face to the torso. While she was stunned, I charged at her as I withdrew my daggers and sliced her head in half. Then another imp came up to me and reached out to me. I avoided his hand and backed away, then I let the stringed dagger loose and swung it at him. But he stepped forward and grabbed the string, pulling it. As it dragged me along with it, I promptly moved forward and also pulled the string and wrapped it around his arm.

“What?”

I pulled him in, lifted him by the arm and slammed him into the ground. With my other dagger, I stabbed him in the head. Another came rushing at me, and I quickly pulled out the dagger and threw it at the enemy, and it sliced through the imp’s knee, causing him to fall. I dispelled the tangled string from the one I killed and picked up the dagger, then cast the string again.

I tapped my leg on the ground and froze the downed imp. I looked around, and we had not moved at all, we were getting overwhelmed. I saw Hartwin getting injured, struck on the arm. Taneva was catching up, but he was fighting off a lot of imps and ravagers. Velar kept trying to return to my side, but enemies kept getting in his way. Nira was trying her best, but her attacks were not the most effective.

I attacked an imp, sliced and diced him. I held out a hand and sent a bolt of ice at an imp, encasing him in ice instantaneously upon impact. I swung my arm hard and sent a swinging stringed dagger at the frozen imp and sliced him in half. My dagger withdrew and struck another imp coming at me. I then kept shooting ice bolts at the coming imps, encasing them in ice. They tried melting my ice, but it was taking them some time to destroy them.

I noticed Velar getting cut on the back. And I quickly sent a bolt of ice to hold off the enemy around him, giving him a fighting chance. I kept shooting ice magic from a distance and kept striking down the imps coming close to me. We were moving forward now, but the progress was little.

“What the hell?! We’re not supposed to harm her? She’s fucking killing us here!” an imp complained and attempted to flee. I sent a dagger at him and injected him with my blood. “W-What…?”

I drew back the dagger and threw another dagger and injected another demon nearby. Switching up to a scare tactic, just a little mental attack on them. Still, the situation was far from desirable. I reloaded the blood on my blades.

A ravager got through Taneva. It charged at me and tried to grab me, but I kept evading it. Still, it was a bit annoying to deal with a giant. It was then that a pair of fogs crashed down against the ravager — it was Galik and Heneis. They restrained the giant demon, and thus I leaped up in the air towards it, let my stringed daggers loose, and spun in the air as I descended before the ravager. My spinning blades cleaved through the giant’s body, and it cut through deep all the way from top to bottom, killing it instantly.

I gathered magic in my hand and blasted frost magic at a group of coming imps, engulfing them in ice. I began panting, I was starting to get really tired. It was then that I noticed a particular imp hovering in the air close to us.

“Cursed Children, and humans… Huh.” He waved his hand, and what followed were pillars of violent inferno that engulfed Galik and Heneis who were closely protecting me. Then the imp landed on the ground and engaged Heneis, grabbing him by the face and slamming him into the ground, followed by a violent burst of flames erupting from his hand.

He then flapped his wings, and it unleashed a wave of fire that blew away Nira.

Whoever this demon was, he was strong, stronger than anyone here. I was about to get away from him when he suddenly shouted.

“Ongrus, now!”

It was then I sensed something massive coming my way, but it moved so fast. Something of that size shouldn’t be able to move like that, it was absolutely absurd. It just blew away the trees like it’s nothing. I tried to get out of the way, but still a giant hand wrapped around my body.

“?!” I tried moving my limbs, but I couldn’t, this thing wouldn’t budge. I looked up to see a fierce face of a ravager, but this one looked different compared to the rest. The moment it snatched me, it kept running away from my team.

“Princess!”

The ravager destroyed the trees in its way. It chuckled. “To think the thing we desperately need is inside something so squishy.”

I glared up at the demon as I tried to free myself. But even with my full Physical Enhancement, I couldn’t escape. “Screw you! Let go of me!”

But the demon merely let out a brief, mocking chuckle.
