"Captain, there was just news—our three people were all killed by Cecilia."
"Weren't they told to report back first if they found anything? How could those idiots possibly beat that slutty woman with their lousy skills? Useless morons!"
Dragon Abyss cursed coldly, his shadowy eyes filled with icy hostility.
"They tried to escape, but that woman moved too fast. They didn't even have a chance to make a report."
Upon hearing this, Dragon Abyss's expression immediately went cold.
These last few days, he'd been discussing with several other team captains. In a few days, they were planning to regroup for another expedition into the depths of the Mutant Jungle. Now, during this critical moment, Cecilia, who had been quiet for so long, suddenly reappeared and started killing again. It made him feel as if he had swallowed ten flies.

Soon after Dragon Abyss issued this order, more than a dozen players with heavy dark circles under their eyes—clearly hardcore net addicts—put on their VR helmets, lay back in their professional e-sports chairs, and logged into the game.
Meanwhile, in the game world, Chen Zixuan was leading Gu Yanxi through the dense, overgrown forest, struggling every step of the way.
Chen Zixuan was relatively fine, but the one really having trouble was Gu Yanxi. Having lived in the city her whole life, she'd only ever seen such roadless, wild forests on TV. Walking through it was extremely difficult for her.

Their backs were covered in plate-like armor studded with bone spikes—just a glance was enough to tell they were not to be trifled with.
Having experienced the monster siege, Gu Yanxi could be considered someone who had seen big situations. The surprise on her face lasted only a moment before she regained her composure.
She glanced at Chen Zixuan, then at the huge group of crocodiles tens of meters away, pursed her lips, and widened her eyes, asking, "You want to fight those?"
"Yeah, they give a lot of experience. Want to try?"
Chen Zixuan nodded seriously.
Last time, because he acted rashly, he panicked and swung his sword too slowly. That was how he'd gotten surrounded by three Sawtooth Crocodiles and had no choice but to die, granting his first death.
This time, after carefully reflecting on the lessons learned, Chen Zixuan would not repeat such rookie mistakes.

The fear that had been creeping up in her heart faded away. Looking at Chen Zixuan, Gu Yanxi nodded firmly, "I'll follow your lead!"

"How can we lure them over?"
Examining the lazy crocodile herd in the distance, the silver-haired girl twirled a strand of hair around her finger, muttering softly.

Just as Chen Zixuan was wavering, Gu Yanxi suddenly spoke up, "You want to lure the monsters, right? I think I have a way."
"What way?"
As soon as Gu Yanxi spoke, Chen Zixuan asked urgently.
"Hmm... I'm not sure how to put it. Do you have any Monster Blood?"
Gu Yanxi frowned in deep thought for a while, unsure how to explain, and decided that demonstrating was easier.
Monster Blood was a very low-level, common crafting material—almost every monster had a high chance of dropping it, and Chen Zixuan had more than a hundred in his backpack, just never found anywhere to recycle them.

After she took two Monster Blood from Chen Zixuan, she bent down and started searching around in the nearby woods.
In less than thirty seconds, a joyful cry of "Found it!" burst forth, and Gu Yanxi's pale, slender fingers held up a low-growing plant with oval leaves.
"What's that?"
Chen Zixuan stepped up to have a look, but to him it seemed like an ordinary weed—he couldn't see how it could possibly lure monsters.
"Eh? You can't see it? On my end, I can. It's called All-Cure Herb—it's a crafting material too."
After hearing Gu Yanxi's answer, Chen Zixuan thoughtfully lowered his head.
No matter how he looked, he couldn't see the plant's name, yet Gu Yanxi could identify it at a glance. And thinking back to how she'd asked for Monster Blood before, could it be that Gu Yanxi's subclass was Apothecary?
