Chapter 189 : The Death of the End
Chapter 189: The Death of the End
The Sword Emperor’s gaze followed Dan Chun-woo’s back.
Dan Chun-woo’s sword pierced through the End.
Shock appeared on the End’s face.
No one on the battlefield had sensed Dan Chun-woo’s movements.
Not even the Sword Emperor.
The Sword Emperor had clearly staked everything he had on killing the End.
But the End had seen through his intentions and blocked the attack.
The Sword Emperor only noticed Dan Chun-woo’s presence after his own strike had failed.
At the moment when everyone’s attention had been focused on him and the End, Dan Chun-woo had erased his own presence and become the Sword Emperor’s shadow.
Then, the moment the Sword Emperor’s strike was blocked, he appeared and cut the End.
Cough.
Blood spilled from the End’s mouth.
He was flustered.
Excruciating pain surged from the chest that had been pierced by Mu-a.
The endlessly fragmented flow of time began returning to normal.
Faced with the sensation of unbearable agony for the first time in his life, the choice he made was to flee.
Bang!
Along with an explosion of Demonic Energy, Dan Chun-woo and the Sword Emperor were blasted away.
The wound inflicted by Dan Chun-woo did not heal.
The immortality that had been maintained as long as Mana remained could not restore this wound.
For the End, that was an enormous shock.
What if that sword had cut his neck?
He would have died on the spot.
Power leaked from the ineradicable wound carved into his body.
Cheon Ga-eun and Oliver Raiders caught Dan Chun-woo and the Sword Emperor as they were thrown away.
Dan Chun-woo’s gaze turned toward Park Siwoo and the others.
A silent signal passed between them.
‘I made the opening.’
His role was finished.
After using Mu-a twice in a single day, Dan Chun-woo no longer had enough strength left to move even a finger.
Demonic Energy erupted violently from the End’s body.
He looked like a black flame floating in midair.
The Heroes began their counterattack.
Perhaps because of Dan Chun-woo’s fatal strike,
the End’s movements were obvious, yet no longer as they had been before.
He did not easily allow the Heroes to close the distance.
Part of that was because his injury had slowed him down, but more than that, he had grown wary of whatever hidden trump cards the Heroes might still possess.
Various Authorities revealed themselves.
The Ocean of Demonic Energy bubbled.
Demonic Beasts formed from Demonic Energy emerged from within it.
Spheres containing the Authority of Pulverization poured down toward them.
Cheon Ga-eun and Oliver Raiders, who had caught Dan Chun-woo and the Sword Emperor, threw themselves forward.
As they blocked the attacks unleashed by the End, they looked toward Park Siwoo and the others.
Even though their stamina had already reached its limit, they did everything they could to create a path toward the End.
Cheon Ga-eun’s great sword sliced apart the Demonic Beasts emerging from the Ocean of Demonic Energy.
Oliver Raiders spread his enormous wings and blocked the Authorities of Pulverization fired by the End.
Their gazes crossed in midair.
A path toward him had been created.
Park Siwoo, Eunha, and Helena charged toward the End.
At last, the End collided with Park Siwoo’s group.
Frowning, he created a powerful storm around his body.
The winds of the storm were imbued with the Authority of Slashing.
Park Siwoo’s spear rose toward the sky in response.
Heavenly Descent of Dragon Aura (龍氣天降).
Countless bundles of condensed energy poured from the Mana Mist and shattered the Authority of Slashing.
The End no longer dismissed the beings before him as mere insects.
They were certainly still insignificant creatures, but the techniques they had honed across their entire lives possessed power comparable to the Authorities of Archdemons.
Black lightning crashed down from the sky.
The entire Academy had quite literally become the site of a natural disaster, and the End stood at its center.
A thin stream of blood ran from Helena’s mouth.
The blood channels throughout her body had twisted, causing her Mana to flow backward.
Even interfering with the Mana in the atmosphere through the power of a Dragon had become difficult.
She no longer had enough strength left to unleash Dragon Breath.
Even so, she did not stop circulating her Mana.
It felt as though her body might shatter at any moment.
Still, she refused to stop.
Even if she died today, she would kill the enemy before her.
For the friend who had sacrificed himself for the world.
Violet light erupted from Helena in her Half-Human, Half-Dragon form.
In accordance with her fierce will, the Mana throughout the area obeyed her command.
A tremendous amount of Mana began concentrating into her sword.
She had only one objective.
One strike.
She would create an opening for Eunha to land a single blow.
Helena’s sword moved chaotically.
Her sword possessed none of the profound principles of Dan Chun-woo’s techniques, nor any special technique like Park Siwoo’s Origin.
She simply crushed down.
She suppressed and dominated with the overwhelming power possessed by a Dragon.
Her movements were desperate, yet tenacious.
No matter how much the End tried to shake her off, she clung to him relentlessly.
Park Siwoo moved with her and began driving the End back.
Under attacks that came at him while burning away even their own lives, the End began to be pushed back for a moment.
As the attacks continued without pause, the wound Dan Chun-woo had inflicted throbbed.
Helena’s Dragon Eyes shone.
The Dragon Eyes that perceived all creation did not miss that opening.
The enormous amount of Mana condensed into her sword was immediately converted into Dragon Breath.
Kiiing!
A violet beam shot forward and struck the End.
He hurriedly surrounded himself with an Authority in an attempt to block it, but it was useless.
His defense collapsed, creating an opening.
While the End was flustered, Eunha moved.
An opening Helena had created by staking her life.
Eunha had no intention of letting it go to waste.
Now, while he was shaken, was the chance.
Eunha vanished.
A faint light began flowing from her.
It was not the Power of Predation engraved upon her by Pandemonium, nor was it Demonic Energy.
In the first place, there was no way the Predation-type Authority that extracted Demonic Authorities could work against the End himself.
The power Eunha emitted was something entirely different.
Her power had changed while undergoing the trial of the Fragment.
That was because she had defeated the very source of her own strength—the Origin of Predation itself—together with her companions.
Baek Hyun-joong had said this to Eunha.
A Holy Grail that embraced evil and purified it.
Eunha’s strike pierced into the wound Dan Chun-woo had carved into the End’s body after Helena shattered his defenses.
“Kugh!”
Blood burst from the End’s mouth.
The wound inflicted by Dan Chun-woo’s Mu-a had lost the immortality normally possessed by Demons.
For the End, it was effectively a fatal wound.
The End’s face twisted like that of a malevolent god.
He did not want to admit that mere insects called humans had pushed him this far, much less that he had felt the fear of death.
A crimson Demonic Sword was summoned into his hand.
Fwoosh!
Levatein pierced through Eunha’s chest.
The Heroes on the battlefield stared in horror.
She had clearly had enough time to dodge.
But she hadn’t.
Instead, she pushed even harder with the hand that had pierced into him, digging further into the wound.
In some ways, Eunha’s fighting style resembled the End’s.
Give up flesh to take bone in a moment of crisis.
A groan of pain escaped Eunha’s mouth.
The wound pierced by Levatein burned under Hellfire.
Agony so horrific that it could not be put into words.
Flames of Hell surged from Levatein.
The flames, which would never extinguish until everything belonging to their target had been burned away, swallowed Eunha.
Seeing this, the End looked toward the Heroes as though showing off his victory.
But something was strange.
Even though their companion was burning in Hellfire, the Heroes did not despair.
They did not look like people who had just lost a comrade.
Then something incomprehensible happened.
The flames of Hell that had swallowed Eunha began to die down.
At the same time, faint light radiated from within the greedily burning Hellfire.
The End’s expression stiffened at the strangely familiar light.
It closely resembled the power of Metatron that had once sealed him.
The Power of Predation possessed by Eunha had changed after clearing the trial of the Gate.
It had transformed into a power meant to seal the End’s strength.
The End’s Demonic Authorities began being absorbed into Eunha.
The power he had regained began disappearing.
The Ocean-like quantity of Mana he possessed and even the Authorities he held as the master of all Demons vanished one after another.
Shocked, the End tried to tear Eunha away from himself.
But she refused to let go.
Instead, she clung to him even more tenaciously.
“Let go! I said let go! You damned thing!”
Levatein, which had pierced through Eunha, collapsed as it became unable to maintain its form.
He swung his fist to knock Eunha away, but she did not budge.
Instead, feeling his power rapidly weaken, she smiled.
At that mocking smile, the End felt fear for the first time.
His gaze turned toward Eunha, who had pierced through him.
A face that looked exactly like Yoo Seongwoo.
It was almost as though Yoo Seongwoo, who had been swallowed and erased by him, was mocking him.
Demons were immortal.
That was why even when Metatron had sealed him, he had felt rage, but never fear.
But now things were different.
After absorbing and sealing the End’s power to her absolute limit, Eunha finally separated from him.
Most of the Authorities he possessed were gone.
Even the Authority of Restoration that had maintained his immortality.
He was weaker than he had ever been.
Someone approached the End in that state.
It was Park Siwoo.
He was a complete mess.
His hair was matted with blood, and injuries covered his entire body.
Even so, Park Siwoo raised his spear and pointed it toward the End.
The tip of Park Siwoo’s spear trembled.
“Guaaaaaaaaa!”
The End let out a furious roar.
He could not accept the current situation.
The End gathered together the Demonic Energy he had left and created a Jet-Black Sword.
Holding the sword, the End charged toward Park Siwoo.
The End’s sword cut through the air.
His attacks were no longer threatening like before.
His stance was a wreck, and there was no principle or technique to be found in it.
He looked no different from a child lashing out with his fists in a tantrum.
The battle that decided the fate of the world—no, countless dimensions—ended as nothing more than a muddy brawl.
Park Siwoo weakly swung his spear.
Clang! Clang! Grrrrk!
Their spear and sword collided and bounced apart over and over again.
Park Siwoo had long since exhausted his stamina and now swung his spear through sheer willpower.
With his superior spear technique, the End’s wounds continued to increase.
“Ghk!”
A groan escaped the End as Park Siwoo’s spear pierced his side.
The Authority of Restoration did not activate.
The wound did not heal.
Without the Authority of Restoration, the End was already half a corpse.
A hole had already been torn through his chest by Dan Chun-woo and Eunha’s attacks.
Before long, starlight began gathering at the tip of Park Siwoo’s spear.
It was the final strike against the End.
Faced with approaching death, the End became pathetic.
A scream burst from his mouth.
“Get away! Get the hell away from me, you monstrous bastard!”
The End was afraid.
Afraid of the death approaching him.
He was terrified that the existence called the End would be erased from this world and reduced to Void.
It was an ugly sight utterly unbefitting the Demon King who had traversed countless dimensions and reduced world after world to nothing.
Park Siwoo’s expression froze coldly at the sight.
He could not tolerate the pathetic display of the end of the world that had revived using his friend as a Vessel.
“Don’t show that pathetic side while wearing my friend’s body. Seongwoo stood infinitely proud before the death you fear so much.”
With those words, Park Siwoo’s spear pierced through the End’s heart.
The death of the End, the King of the Demons and the one once called the Lord of Ten Thousand Demons, was hollow.
