Chapter 548 - 281: Superior Peak Equipment Array 2
"Looking for trouble, are you?"
"Yes, indeed."
"Just wait, you’re the last one."
Li Ang’s eyebrow twitched, but Dorothy suddenly stopped talking. His gaze shifted slightly, and he saw Meluna actually clenching her fist, which scared the Golden Canary into silence.
He sighed, "Quiet down, everyone, I’ll continue crafting."
Under the watchful eyes, he resumed his work. However, now it seemed that the heat from the Magic Furnace’s flames had inexplicably intensified.
Soon, the leg guards matching the arm armor were crafted, and before the surface temperature could drop and the magic power could calm, Zoe hurriedly grabbed them and swapped out her current Earth Attribute Boots.
"A bit hot." The young girl bounced twice on the ground, then quickly took them off.
"I told you to wait a bit."
"Alright, alright."
She hung the boots on the display rack, then plopped down on a nearby chair, lifting her slender legs as her small, plump feet naturally rested on Li Ang’s legs.
There was a shift in the atmosphere around them, emotions running high, yet Li Ang kept his head down, ignoring what was happening, and focused on his work.
Perhaps due to his deliberate serious demeanor, no one came over to make a fuss, but not only Meluna was clicking her tongue, Dorothy had joined in, and there were one or two other clicking sounds he couldn’t pinpoint.
Logically, White Wolf and Xiaoniu weren’t the type, so it must have been Meimei. Why she minded was beyond him.
Of course, this was just speculation. He had no intention of looking up.
The third piece was a helmet, which took a bit longer to craft due to the design and shaping the special form to guide the magic power effectively, which required some effort.
At first glance, it resembled more of a crown than a helmet, extending downward further than a headband, covering and protecting the sides and back of the wearer’s head. The polished scales and fins extended backward and upward, resembling the upward spikes of a crown and the sharp horns of a powerful Demon.
Similar to many caster equipment sets, it would act as the main magic conduit in the set, as the head is the position where all sentient beings guide magic with their spirituality.
[Water Wave Magic Crown]
[Crafted by dismantling and polishing the Arcane Guidance Helm into a ring shape, then embedding it with polished fish scales to make it more akin to caster equipment rather than swordsman equipment. A little-known fact is that for Mage Swordsmen, both casting and sword skills are equally important]
[Tier: 6]
[Category: Helmet]
[Equipment Skills: Water Attribute Power Enhancement, Torrential Rain Array [Vortex]]
[Set Combination: 1/6 [Curse Swordman’s Armor]]
[Set Effect: Incomplete]
Since the concept was clear, the set pieces were already evident.
As soon as Li Ang held it up, Dorothy sourly remarked, "Silver-White Crown? Are you making her your queen?"
"Could you not fan the flames?"
Li Ang was exasperated, even more so as Zoe’s little head was already inching closer.
He hesitated for a couple of seconds before handing the crown to Zoe and returned to his workbench.
After these three, the chest armor, cloak, and leg guards would utilize parts of the Dream Lantern Skin.
The rest of the day was spent battling with them.
Using this top-tier material, the armor was not fully enveloping. Only the chest had armor plates made from the Arcane Guidance Helm, while the waist was made from Illusory Fish Dragon Leather in a deep sinking black color, fitting like a tight suit, displaying the wearer’s body curves.
[Illusionary Curse Robe]
[Mage Swordsman Armor, prioritizing the unification of defense and offense, swordsmanship and magic rather than physical protection]
The leg armor was similar, with plates only adorning the waist and knees, other parts mimicking tight leather pants.
The cloak, whose inner side bore the color of Dream Lantern Skin, had its outer side in the silver of scales, storing Water Shield spells for defense.
Once the entire set was complete, Zoe immediately donned it, transforming from her previous Amber Crocodile Scale Golden Armor look, blossoming like a golden flower, to now appearing as a Silver-White Sword Dancer in ornamental armor.
She proudly enjoyed the various gazes from around her, drew the Wind Breath Sword and gave it a few swings, instantly activating the set effect.
Everyone felt the air shifting, the young girl’s figure blurring between reality and illusion, and as she stepped forward, it seemed like several doppelgangers branched out, requiring significant effort to discern where her true form was through sensing magic power.
Yet, while attempting to sense it, they found the illusions also emitted magic power, causing intense interference.
[Set Effect: The power of the Curse Scale Fish enhances this equipment into a premium Mage Swordsman ensemble, granting additional Water Attribute Mirror Image Skills]
Li Ang pointed to the Sword Testing Stake beside the forging chamber and said, "Try channeling the magic in the equipment for an attack, but don’t use too much force."
"Got it!"
Excitedly, Zoe slashed at the stake. As she swung the sword, a Water Blade emanated from her hand armor, with the nearby phantoms swinging in tandem.
The sound of the blade cutting and water splashing rang out, and as Zoe retracted her magic, the illusory forms around her merged back into her body, with each outline finally converging into one.
The Sword Testing Stake bore more than one mark; apart from the primary deep gash, there were three shallower ones.
This indicated the mirror images’ attacks weren’t purely illusions – they also inflicted damage.
Furthermore, the original sword strike also unleashed an additional Water Blade attack, showing the equipment’s multidimensional attack enhancements.
"Excessive and useless tricks, a true swordsman can see through them with a glance," Meluna remarked.
"That requires reaching the Excellence Realm, and even then, ordinary Excellence Realm would struggle to achieve it. I think you’re just envious," Meimei said.
Meluna glared at her, "Lesser talk from losers."
"It’s not the time for that, nah-nah-nah," Meimei stuck out her tongue playfully at her.
"What about mine? Why am I last!" Dorothy complained, gripping Li Ang’s shoulder and shaking him vigorously.
"Stop, calm down!"
Li Ang shrugged off her hand, saying, "This is exactly why."
"Hmph!"
"Is it my turn next?" Andasu eyed the Dream Lantern Skin nearby, "This material’s illusionary properties are very useful for an assassin, and there’s just enough for a full leather armor set."
"You have a keen eye," Li Ang replied.
White Wolf’s face lit up, his pricked ears twitching.
Dorothy clutched Li Ang’s arm, "You do love cats and dogs more. I said even a fraction of your affection would do, yet you placed me last. I’m gonna cry."
"Don’t rush, yours won’t be inferior," Li Ang gritted, pulling her hand away.
Another layer of the Curse Swordman’s Armor, the components of the Torrential Rain Array [Vortex], would mutually enhance each other, boosting the defense capability of the set to its peak upon activation.
When twelve pieces of the Torrential Rain Array are complete, it can activate in a second stage, wherein the interconnected power elevates this Tier Six equipment’s defense to Tier Seven, capable of defending against pure magical attacks.
To achieve this, at least one other person in the Star Flower Travel Corps must wear all six pieces of the Torrential Rain Array, resonating magic power with each other. Of course, this was Li Ang’s goal.
However, while the defense reaches Tier Seven, the illusions and Water Wave Blade remain at Tier Six.
Yet, for the entire team, this signified a leap to a new height.
The rarity of the material notwithstanding, the end products for Alulu and Dorothy would not fall short compared to the others.
But, as soon as Zoe’s complete set was done, the other three seemed a bit anxious.
Despite being reticent, Li Ang felt the suppressed wildness in Alulu’s eyes rising again, and as her emotions shifted, the surrounding heat also increased.
So, he straightforwardly shared their designs with them.
"Lulu’s set should be called ’Clean Sapphire Armor’, composed of precious Water Attribute Ore and the Water Crystals from the cave, forming a Jade Armor capable of adequately storing the Power of Water. This benefit allows it to reflect external forces and simultaneously enhance attack power on the Water Attribute level."
"Sapphire? Should be quite beautiful," Alulu commented.
Li Ang concluded, and said to White Wolf, "Your set is the ’Nether Lamp Shadow Suit’. The materials I picked are all from Deep Water Demons, combining with the Dream Lantern Skin for dual enhancement in stealth and illusions, similar to those demons in the depths lying in wait for prey using lures that light up the abyss."
White Wolf nodded, clenching his fist, looking at the Dream Lantern Skin intently.
"What about mine? Mine?" Dorothy asked with a gleeful grin.
"Mermaid Robe."
Li Ang appraised her graceful figure, "Yours is the most unique, possessing the ability to transform shapes."
"Mermaid?" None of the young girls had heard of this concept.
