Chapter 533 - 275: Phantom of the Future
"Your criteria for determining a Savior is opposition to the Empire, which has nothing to do with me. I just happened to be there; even without me, someone else would have been. For instance, I stopped the Empire from blockading the waterways on Spark Island at the border of Ignis, along with an Order Knight named Lanslow. Do you consider him a Savior too?" Li Ang said.
He clearly opposed the title being bestowed upon him.
Whether due to his own will or other objective reasons, he found it unreasonable.
Apart from protecting Zoe, he opposed the Empire simply because he was used to and accepted the orderly world crafted by the Guild. He couldn’t stand their means — ruthless and unjust, bringing chaos to the world.
And regarding the Savior, Li Ang knew very well that this person was Zoe.
"That’s different. The key point is the Empire’s attack on Mengze Island."
Meimei looked at Li Ang with some dissatisfaction.
"If I hadn’t gone to Satus Island or Spark Port, I wouldn’t have witnessed the Empire’s actions, nor would I have stood against them," Li Ang said, "Then your speculation would have no basis."
"Then we wouldn’t have met," Dorothy said softly.
"Right." Zoe, realizing from the half-elf’s words, said: "Li Ang not returning to Satus Island wouldn’t do."
As soon as they said this, they suddenly felt a sharp pain and simultaneously turned their heads to see Meluna staring at them expressionlessly.
Without using any means, the Female Sword Hero’s gaze alone brought an intense sharpness right before them.
Zoe unwillingly wanted to stare back, but Dorothy pulled her with a grin.
Li Ang stood quietly in front of them, and Zoe immediately smiled, but Meluna looked as if she had been impacted.
Li Ang continued speaking to Meimei: "You are approaching this from your perspective, but just now the Water Dragon also mentioned that this world shouldn’t have your existence."
The white-haired young girl was at a loss for words, wanting to retort but unable to.
"Indeed, while we cannot specifically fathom the true intent of the Creator God, it is not something to be so simply concluded either," Akuya chimed in.
Meimei stood there, becoming increasingly stiff, her face turning redder.
If her reasoning couldn’t hold, wouldn’t that mean that her previous attempts to "probe" Li Ang, whether by words or actions, were all reckless and irresponsible behaviors?
The crowd glanced at Li Ang without pointing this out.
Yet Meluna, who had been quietly standing by, seemed to have thought of something and, with an attitude of performing in front of Li Ang, said to Meimei: "So, you need to apologize sincerely, obediently wash—"
"I know, I know!"
Meimei shouted out loudly, interrupting Meluna’s ominous inquiry. To prevent her from spouting nonsense and embarrassing herself, Meimei accepted the need to apologize.
"I’ll apologize properly, let’s not bring this up again."
Hearing this, the topic was temporarily set aside.
But Li Ang then remembered an additional point.
"Why is the time you arrived in this world the same as the original time you were born?"
He asked, leaving Meimei momentarily stunned.
"There is indeed this issue, but I can’t explain it clearly either."
She pinched her delicate chin, pondering: "Logically, the landing time in this world should be random. If it just so happens to be the same moment, it indicates some reason, though uncertain."
"Rebirth, experiencing infancy all over again — what’s that like?" ALulu asked curiously.
While Meimei contemplated how to express it, Akuya replied: "Speaking of which, how did you use the Creation Wedge?"
"It’s a device," Meimei said.
"No wonder," the Water Dragon said, expression suggesting understanding.
"Is it a device created by the Eldest Son of God?" Li Ang asked.
"It should be."
Meimei said, explaining that during her time fighting across Nebis, she visited many Magic divine Lands or secret realms of Magic Guidance Technology, where the device had a similar operation method.
It operated like a library guide device, presenting the so-called "calculation results" like books lined up in order, with alternate scenarios beside each row.
"Why did you choose this Nebis among so many calculation results?" Akuya asked.
"Many worlds were already marked as ’discarded,’ which I didn’t look at. Among the currently calculating worlds, this one was the newest, so I directly chose it," Meimei said.
Akuya raised an eyebrow: "So, you didn’t look at all the worlds? If it were me, I’d definitely be curious, even as Nebis’s dying Water of no hope."
"I didn’t have much time. The world was already nearing collapse, and it was the Light and Dark Dragon of my world who assisted me at the last moment."
Meimei’s face flushed with bashfulness: "Furthermore, viewing the calculation records of the Creation Wedge subjects one to intense pressure, even Legendary Powerhouses find it difficult to endure. My power is not enough, I am the weakest among the Legendary tier."
She stole a glance at Meluna, knowing the latter was much stronger, likely able to see more.
She continued, explaining that after using the Creation Wedge, she was absorbed into it, witnessing "countless clusters like stars intertwined intricately on branched twigs."
Guided by the power of the Creation Wedge, she was drawn into one of the clusters, landing in this world. Her body became almost entirely destroyed during the world-crossing, and her final spirituality sought a mother closely connected by bloodlines, re-emerging in her womb, akin to a form of reincarnation.
