Chapter 528 - 273: Explaining the Reasons (Part 2)
She was dressed in an elegant casual dress, the fabric and craftsmanship clearly marking it as expensive. Her delicate features were adorned with a black eight-pointed hat, suppressing her somewhat unreal pink hair, while her blue-purple eyes resembled colored contact lenses, making her appear vibrant, as if she had just been strolling in a bustling metropolis.
However, clashing with her style was the beer can she held in her hand.
This guy... Li Ang furrowed his brow, finding the tone strangely familiar.
"Lord Akuya," Farina said.
"Oh, it’s you," Li Ang realized, recalling this was the avatar the Water Dragon had mentioned would come to the island.
According to Farina’s description, its preferred form should be a pink-haired Beast-Earkin.
Yet, the Beast-Earkin was generally known for a tall and slender build. This petite figure didn’t quite fit, though considering the avatar might be self-fashioned, it was understandable.
Nonetheless, judging by its appearance, it didn’t seem fit to be drinking alcohol.
"So it’s the bunny dragon," Zoe said.
Akuya gave a hard glare at the suddenly enlightened young girls: "You disrespectful creatures, I’ll settle this later with you."
She placed her hands on her hips and pointed at Farina, then promptly removed her hat.
"See, where are my beast ears?" The Water Dragon’s loli avatar demanded.
Indeed, there were no beast ears amidst the pink hair, and human ears could be seen beneath the hanging hair strands.
"Hmm, you’ve adjusted your avatar; you’re no longer a Beast-Earkin."
"Because the way you described this dragon made me feel disrespected."
Akuya scoffed, put the hat back on, and took a big swig of her beer.
She stepped forward towards Meluna, who was leaning beside Li Ang, lost in thought.
The black-haired girl looked up and met her gaze.
"You’re the ’Savior’ from another world, right?" asked the Water Dragon’s avatar.
"Yes."
"What are you doing here? It’s unbelievable you made it over here."
Akuya seemed to ponder something, glancing sideways at Li Ang, making him feel peculiar.
"I want to find something to sustain the world, delaying its destruction."
The pink-haired girl inhaled deeply, seemingly with much to say, but ultimately just shook her head.
"You, and you, come over, we need to discuss a few things."
Akuya pointed at Li Ang and Meimei, who quickly hid half her body behind Otto.
"Don’t hide, it’s useless. Meimei, although this dragon dearly misses you and is grateful for your care, your deceit is outright disrespectful!"
The pink-haired girl spread her arms and jumped wildly, shouting, wholly unlike the divine spirit she claimed to be.
Otto said something, and Meimei obediently walked over.
As soon as she approached, Akuya gave her a flick on the head: "You too! Just like the one with black hair, you’ve mixed Nebis impurities here; you’ve long known my dragon identity and used your understanding of Deputy power to mask it, it’s an utter insult to the dragon."
Meimei clutched her smooth forehead, the Magic Power wave from the Water Dragon avatar was of the Excellence Realm, which she dared not defend against, sufficient to cause her sharp pain.
With reddened eyes, she said: "Sorry, bunny. I couldn’t be sure..."
Their conversation was cryptic to outsiders, but Akuya didn’t hide it, turning and saying to everyone: "Let’s go to a nicer place, offer tribute to this dragon, and I’ll tell you everything. So bothersome."
The pink-haired girl drained the beer, casually tossed the can, and walked ahead.
Li Ang opened his mouth, suddenly recalling that Nebis, due to the widespread lag in productivity resembling a feudal era, coupled with the reliance on Magic Power for many operations allowing pollution-free natural cycles, lacked environmental awareness, at most demanding city sanitation management and moral self-regulation.
Thus, no one considered throwing aluminum cans into lush natural grasslands as anything improper.
He hesitated briefly, fleetingly wondering whether divine spirits cared about the environment, eventually picking up the can, feeling a can amidst Mengze Island’s verdant scenery discordant, although traces existed near the town yet it was still a deep forest.
"You want it too? Fine, consider it a gift from this dragon." The pink-haired loli, tipsy Dragon God remarked.
Li Ang’s gaze twitched, fists involuntarily stiffening.
"Don’t do anything weird with it like indirect kissing," Akuya added.
"Ah!"
Li Ang tossed the can onto the pink-haired Water Dragon’s head.
"You rogue!"
Akuya immediately summoned a stream of water in anger, which was promptly faced by a group blocking her.
Meimei didn’t act, but Farina held onto the pink-haired girl’s arm, with Meluna drawing a sword to block her path, and Zoe with three others clustered forward.
Although Otto didn’t directly obstruct, he posed ready.
"Oh dear! What are you doing? Ganging up on a divine spirit? Truly opened my eyes today!"
Farina coaxed: "Lord Water Dragon, he’s in a bad mood right now."
"You’re not considering my feelings? Because of these reckless two endowed with Favor, Leviathan’s avatar was nearly dissipated!"
"I’ve got Sea Dragon Eggs here, plenty to share," Li Ang said.
"Ahhh!"
The pink-haired girl screamed hysterically twice, seemed to be on the verge of lying down on the spot, Farina hurriedly embraced her.
