The Lord Of Blood Hill

Chapter 513: Sending You a Big Firecracker

Time’s up!

Morris waves his staff, slamming a dark Abyssal orb against the protective spell.

Blackness spreads over the barrier again, slowly forming a breach.

On Henwell’s side, his twin swords ignite fiercely.

Blood Will condenses to its peak as he unleashes a cross slash at the gap.

The blood-golden phantom blade slices through the narrow opening, growing from small to massive, forming a huge cross-shaped sword energy.

The blade tears through everything in its path, heading straight for Morris.

Feeling the immense power within the cross slash, Morris is surprised but stays alert.

His left hand quickly traces a protective spell, while his staff points forward, gathering a deadly death ray.

Like a lion fighting a rabbit, he gives it his all!

This seasoned expert won’t hold back his mana just because Henwell is a skilled elite.

His attack is just as deadly.

After unleashing the powerful cross slash, Henwell charges like a knight.

But instead of charging forward to close in on the spellcaster, he charges outward, seemingly trying to escape.

Henwell’s move catches Morris off guard.

Watching Henwell’s rapid retreat, Morris senses something is off.

Then he suddenly notices the box that had been by Henwell’s feet has somehow appeared right in front of him.

Was that massive cross slash a distraction to throw the box in?

As Morris wonders what Henwell is up to, his eyes widen.

He senses a tremendous threat coming from the box.

The floral pattern on the box’s handle begins to glow.

It’s too late to destroy or throw it away.

All Morris can do is boost his defenses as much as possible to avoid this unknown danger.

First, he instantly summons two Abyssal Berserker Demons to stand before him, shielding his back.

Then two Abyss Familiars emerge from invisibility, dragging him quickly backward.

Finally, two more Abyss Familiars deploy multiple protective barriers between him and the box.

Henwell has already charged more than ten meters away, crashing into a lamp post and tumbling behind a pillar.

On top of that, he wraps himself tightly in Blood Will, solidly protecting his body.

After a moment, Henwell, still clutching his head, wonders why there’s no reaction.

Morris shares the same confusion.

He clearly senses the unsettling energy from the box, yet several seconds pass with no response.

Just as Henwell peeks out, a towering pillar of fire, dozens of meters tall, bursts from the breach in the protective spell.

The fire pillar rips through several rooms, followed by a fierce shockwave.

Then comes the deafening explosion.

Henwell feels the entire castle shake, his head buzzing with ringing.

At this moment, everyone inside the castle feels the fierce tremor.

No one knows who shouted first, but soon a message spreads like wildfire throughout the castle.

The castle is collapsing!

All sides stop fighting, scrambling to find exits to escape.

At the center of the explosion, Henwell gets up from the ground, shakes his head to clear the dizziness.

Blood Will flares wildly across his body.

Gripping his twin swords, he charges straight into the King’s Hall.

As soon as he bursts in, Henwell blocks a stabbing attack with his long sword.

Then with a swift upward slash from his left hand, he cuts the damaged Abyssal Shadow Stinger in two.

Next, a whirlwind slash shatters the nearby Abyssal Arcane Demon’s body.

Now, only a massive brown stone cocoon remains in the hall.

It sits at the farthest point from the blast’s center, almost pressed against the wall.

The cocoon emits a faint black mist, covered with shifting dark runes.

Henwell recognizes this spell, it’s called Abyss Sanctuary, a powerful protective barrier.

Only Abyss Warlocks who study deep abyss magic dare to use it.

But they usually avoid it because every time it’s used, the user’s body becomes more abyssal.

Eventually, they can no longer survive in the main world and are dragged back into the abyss by its laws, becoming maddened abyssal monsters.

With Henwell’s current strength, he still can’t break through an Abyss Sanctuary activated by a Glory Rank Abyss Warlock.

Taking advantage of the moment, Henwell surveys his surroundings.

The protective spell has long since been destroyed by the explosion.

The entire King’s Hall is stripped of debris, and the walls are badly damaged.

Many areas have turned into a glassy state, radiating intense heat.

The box Henwell threw in is actually a deadly weapon he developed himself.

He spent a long time tinkering with Newwood before finally creating this super bomb backpack.

It uses a type of explosive that’s extremely expensive and very hard to store.

But its power is fierce.

Though the box contains only forty kilograms of this special explosive, its blast is roughly equivalent to a ton of TNT in the old world.

Of course, it includes a lot of extraordinary materials to achieve such a unique effect.

So far, Henwell doesn’t have the ability to mass-produce it.

Even making a small amount by hand is quite difficult.

Mainly, Henwell is cautious when handling it.

It’s not that he fears dying in an explosion, but like setting off firecrackers as a kid, he knows it’s not deadly but still handles it carefully.

More importantly, this explosive, codenamed Thug, is notoriously hard to store.

It requires a container made from extraordinary materials to keep it stable.

Even then, its shelf life doesn’t exceed six months.

Henwell lacks a personal space like Newwood’s to maintain long-term stability.

A six-month shelf life makes it impossible for Henwell to produce this in large quantities as a regular weapon.

Otherwise, despite the high cost, he could still make good use of it.

To put the cost of Thug into perspective, just look at what Henwell used earlier.

That half-meter metal box is made entirely from extraordinary alloy, embedded with at least four extraordinary runes.

One rune maintains the environment, another absorbs shock, a third strengthens the box, and the last triggers the explosion.

The four runes alone cost tens of thousands of gold coins.

The box materials add another twenty thousand gold coins.

The dozens of kilograms of Thug explosive cost tens of thousands more, not counting Henwell’s labor.

Only Henwell can manufacture this.

The Technical Research Institute only produces small amounts for research and improvement.

In other words, Henwell just set off a firecracker worth tens of thousands of gold coins.

That’s enough to fund a barely decent hundred-man cavalry unit for the nobles.
