Fallen Eagle

Hello everyone!

Just as the title says, it is time to talk about a very dreaded word on NovelFire — stubbing.

We've come a long way from where we began, and we currently have over 1500 pages here on the NovelFire website! It has been an amazing journey, and I hope it will continue to be for many more years to come :)

That said, this is a staggering amount of literary material and hours poured into a story to have posted for free. I say this not to somehow convince you to like stubbing, but to help you understand my perspective behind the decision to move forward with it.

I also wanted to let you know exactly how the process will occur and what to expect moving forward.

I want to start by saying that the first volume of the series will remain free in perpetuity, to give new readers a chance to fall in love with the world and decide if it is something they might want to read.

All volumes starting from the second, however, will eventually be taken down from NovelFire. That said, there are a few things I hope will ease the pain of transition. First off, I will be splitting the absolute behemoth of a second book into Volumes 2 and 3. Volume 2 will span Chapters 25 through 59, so all the ones after that will still be available on RR for quite some time. Additionally, I will always leave the first five chapters of any book up, again to let readers decide if they actually want to pay to read a book or not. Lastly, I will price these books at a low point - roughly in the €3-4 ballpark on Patreon as a collection, fluctuating on other platforms according to platform taxes. The read-ahead chapters in the monthly subscription are too expensive for many people, and I understand that, so I don’t want to restrict the gateway for people to catch up to recent posts on RR and to join the largest active community Fallen Eagle has.

I will not be stubbing Volume 2 this coming week, and maybe not the next. But I’ll let you know closer to the date once I have things sorted out with Amazon and other publishers. This is on purpose, to allow you guys to copy and paste the chapters now if you want - you guys got me here in the first place, so this is more than your fair share (of course, if you ever decide to buy a volume to support me, I would appreciate it :3). I went through and edited all the typos people pointed out in the first two volumes, as well as conducted some major edits on the first four chapters and minor edits on a few of the rest in Volumes 1 and 2. So if you were planning on re-reading Fallen Eagle, now might be a good time!

To end on a somewhat happier note, I would like to personally appreciate some of the readers who’ve supported the story in one way or another - a sort of appreciation corner for RR users who’ve either stuck with the story for long, whose names stand out to me for always being there, or who’ve helped build the story in one way or another. You guys made this story work. Without you, I would have likely quit a long time ago. My life has always been half measures and half effort, and this might be the one thing I’m most proud of so far. The community, the challenges, the highs and lows, and how much I’ve grown just by letting the world and its characters breathe.

One thing I had heard but had no real clue how true it was, is that every author leaves a little bit of himself on every page. That makes every criticism hurt extra hard, but every word of encouragement feel extra special. You guys are amazing, and I wouldn’t trade what we’ve built here for anything else.
