Chapter 261 : 3rd OTP, Purple Rush (6)
3rd OTP, Purple Rush (6)
The carriage, which had easily shaken off the Federal Marshal's pursuit, stopped in a thicket from which the train station could be seen in the distance.
"Let's abandon the carriage here."
"We don't know when the Sheriffs might catch up. Let's hurry."
When Bunch said this as he climbed down from the coachman's seat, Sunday Kid responded in agreement. Lee Gyeongbok also followed them toward the station.
"Damn, it's good that we escaped safely, but we got here way too early."
"But we can't just wait around here forever..."
They whispered gravely among themselves, then looked back at Lee Gyeongbok.
"The plan's changed a bit, but we'll have to take some risks."
"Risks?"
"We never know when the Federal Marshals might burst in. I'll go find the engine room and 'persuade' them to leave quickly."
Bunch then pointed at the passenger car.
"You two, could you ask the passengers for a bit of 'understanding'? So they won't be alarmed if the train leaves suddenly."
The viewers burst out laughing at this explanation.
― Did the outlaw just improvise again?
― No, lmao, why are they pretending to be nice?
― Guns have always been the best persuasion technique.
― Persuasion (physical) + Understanding (physical)
― Don't you know outlaws are always built like that? LOL
Meanwhile, bunch moved toward the engine room. Lee Gyeongbok carefully checked the passenger carriage with Sunday Kid.
"Fortunately, there aren't many people here. Should be easy."
Sunday Kid chuckled lightly and reached for the doorknob, but Lee Gyeongbok grabbed his arm.
"Wait."
"What's wrong?"
"Detectives."
"What?"
He widened his eyes in surprise. The viewers' reactions weren't much different.
-?????
― There are detectives?
― What's this out of nowhere?
― Hyung!?
― Perfect-Eye ON!
As the chat filled with question marks, Lee Gyeongbok turned his gaze to the passenger car again.
"Anyone checking their watch or yawning is a real passenger. But the two in the center, each looking in opposite directions, are different."
There were two men in the center of the carriage, each watching the front and rear doors. On the surface, they looked no different from other passengers.
"One hand is down by their side, and they keep glancing between the window and the door. They're preparing to react in case of trouble. Normal passengers wouldn't act like that."
― Oh? He's right.
― Why though?
― Did the Federal Marshals attack Nowhere and leave detectives to cover the escape routes?
― Was this a joint investigation all along!?
― Lol, that's highly plausible!
The viewers confirmed Lee Gyeongbok's observation.
"My goodness, such keen powers of observation!"
Sunday Kid was impressed, then grew serious.
"They're after us. We'll have to deal with them. If we ambush them, it'll be over quickly."
He reached for his revolver, but Lee Gyeongbok stopped him again.
"If you start shooting before the train's even moving, it'll draw too much attention. Let's do this quietly."
"Quietly?"
"I'll handle the detectives. You take care of the other passengers so they don't panic."
"Hmmm... Fine."
After a brief hesitation, Sunday Kid nodded and pulled his hat low. Calmly, Lee Gyeongbok opened the compartment door and stepped inside.
For a moment, everyone in the carriage looked at them, but the regular passengers quickly lost interest.
The detectives glanced their way as well, but only briefly scanned the two with sidelong glances.
'They've noticed us.'
Lee Gyeongbok saw the detectives exchange glances. Their expressions instantly hardened, and they made to draw their pistols.
But that brief moment wasn't enough to stop Lee Gyeongbok.
"Guh."
"Ugh."
He drew his gun first. With a light wrist snap, he reversed his grip and struck the detective on the head with the butt.
― Thwack!
― Is this another shot another kill moment?
-lol, isn't this a headshot too?
― Gun (blunt weapon)
― Please keep it down! (thunk!)
― It got quiet, for real?
With only a dull thud and a brief groan, the two detectives rolled their eyes and collapsed.
"Eek!"
"What...!"
The other passengers screamed belatedly but quickly fell silent.
"Please, calm down. If you just keep quiet, nothing will happen to you."
Sunday Kid smiled as he pointed his gun at the passengers.
In a gentle tone, he addressed the terrified passengers.
"The train will be departing earlier than scheduled. Does anyone wish to wait for the next one?"
The frightened passengers glanced uneasily at each other. Meanwhile, the train slowly started to move forward.
"Oh, so indecisive. I'll decide for you—all aboard, now."
"We-we'll get off!"
"Please don't shoot!"
As Sunday Kid whipped his gun around, the passengers hurriedly disembarked. Meanwhile, Lee Gyeongbok finished tying up the unconscious detectives.
"These two aren't all of them."
"Seems so."
Through the window in the door, they could see more people approaching from the rear carriage. Both Lee Gyeongbok and Sunday Kid braced themselves on either side of the door.
As more detectives entered, the two quickly aimed their guns, subduing them.
"Argh!"
"Please cooperate—we don't want the hassle of cleaning up bodies."
The detectives, after putting up some resistance, finally gave up and panted on the floor.
"You're the ones who should cooperate. Resist, and you'll die."
"Oh? Can detectives kill with just a glare these days?"
Sunday Kid jeered. The detective just snorted.
"We're only the surveillance unit. The main force will be here soon, and resisting means death."
"The main force?"
At those words, Lee Gyeongbok's divine energy sensed multiple threats. He looked out the train window and saw a troop on horseback riding up behind the rear carriage.
― Huh? There are some participants mixed in there?
― And they're almost all high-ranking!
― So it wasn't a joint investigation, it was stream sniping?
― How much damn money did they spend on this?
― There must be at least thirty of them.
Bounty hunters and detectives quickly boarded the rear carriage. As Lee Gyeongbok returned inside, Sunday Kid asked nervously,
"What's going on?"
"They weren't lying. There's a crowd coming up from behind."
"Damn...!"
He grimaced and pointed his gun at a detective.
"Should we use them as hostages?"
"What's going on!? Is there a problem?!"
Suddenly, bunch's voice cut in. Turning, they saw him standing there.
"Bunch, there's a mob of detectives coming our way."
"A mob? Damn, and I even sped up the train!"
Bunch slapped his forehead and shook his head.
"If we wait any longer, we might have to jump. Once this thing speeds up, escaping won't be easy."
His grave expression was in stark contrast to the chat, which was filled with laughter.
-lol, even 30 people are nothing special here
― Legendary outlaw (chicken)
― For real, if it's hyung, he can handle everything
― Isn't a tight space actually to our advantage?
― Just leave it to Godple and watch!
Knowing Lee Gyeongbok's skills, they had no worries. But the man himself saw things differently.
"Fighting them isn't hard, but wiping them all out doesn't seem like the best choice."
As question marks filled the chat, he explained quickly.
"This is a smuggling mission, right? If we show up in Mexico with a train full of corpses, things will be tough. Even if we dump the bodies outside, leaving a carriage bloodied is a problem."
― That's true, actually.
― But what other choice do you have!
― Even for Godple, taking out that many people without firing a bullet is...
― Should we just jump off midway?
― If we're going to abandon the train, might as well clean them all out
― Right, if you're ditching the train, nothing matters then
― So you're saying just take them out?
Chat messages flew by as more detectives drew near.
"Here's what we'll do."
Lee Gyeongbok explained his newly devised plan. As they listened, bunch and Sunday Kid's eyes wavered.
"Hmmm, it does seem worth a try."
"If it doesn't work, we can always bail out."
After a brief debate, both nodded.
* * *
The detectives who boarded the rear carriage quickly advanced. At their head was Alan, founder of the Preston Detective Agency.
"It's just as you said. Still, I wonder how you figured out the Wild Pack's escape route."
He smiled and continued,
"They're trapped now—thirty thousand dollar bounty! Taking down the Wild Pack will bring our Agency a legendary reputation!"
"So we need to stay focused."
A bounty hunter quietly warned the excited Alan.
"Bunch and Sunday Kid aren't the real problem. The one to watch out for is the wanted criminal called Purple."
"I know. The New Noir Bank robbery was infamous. That's why I put together a top team of Elite Agents."
They merely smiled at his pride.
"Let's hope it ends here."
"With Purple, even this many people shouldn't feel safe."
"Especially since it's a cramped location."
"Director Alan, I'd like to stress again that elimination should take priority over capture."
As Alan nodded again, the carriage suddenly rattled, making everyone sway.
"W-What the!?"
"What's happening!?"
"The speed's dropping!"
With their shouts, the screech of metal filled the air, making everyone wince.
"Are they braking the train?"
"Are they surrendering?"
"Are they going to jump off the moving train?!"
"Quick, move!"
No matter the reason, there was no time to waste. The detectives and bounty hunters hurried forward through the cars.
Soon, they saw Lee Gyeongbok and Sunday Kid beyond the open door.
"Ta—"
One hunter couldn't even finish speaking. The moment their eyes met, Lee Gyeongbok's gun blazed.
"Take cover!"
"Guess we're spilling blood now!"
The detectives returned fire, but Lee Gyeongbok closed the carriage door to block the bullets.
"Fools! Such meaningless resistance!"
"No, it's not that."
One bounty hunter's eyes went wide at Alan's words. As a stream sniper, he had received a tip from Lee Gyeongbok's channel.
"They're trying to disconnect the coupler between the cars!"
"The coupler!?"
"They're trying to leave us behind?!"
While Lee Gyeongbok held them off, Sunday Kid was working on separating the carriages.
"We have to stop—!"
"Wait! If you go out now—!"
As a hunter stepped out, a gunshot rang out and he fell back, a neat bullet hole between his eyes.
"Damn."
"We'll lay down suppressing fire—go now!"
They tried to fire blindly out the door, but even that failed.
"Agh!"
"Dang!"
As soon as they stuck out their guns, Lee Gyeongbok shot them out of their hands. Hunter after hunter clutched their stinging hands in shock.
"What the hell...?!"
Alan watched the scene in dismay. Then, the situation changed again.
The carriage rattled as the coupler finally gave way.
"Damn it!"
"They detached the carriage!"
"Don't let them escape!"
As the carriages separated, the detectives and hunters dashed forward desperately.
But they quickly stopped dead. Beyond the next door, Lee Gyeongbok was already gone.
"A curve?"
"Oof!"
"It's tipping!"
"Jump, now!"
Despite the brakes, momentum remained.
The carriage filled with the detectives' and hunters' screams as it derailed and overturned.
* * *
Lee Gyeongbok watched the derailed and capsized carriage.
-lol, this is true tail-cutting!
― Never saw that coming, disconnecting the carriages lol
― Our hyung thinks big!
― Why waste bullets when you can just leave?
― And the accuracy of those suppressive shots was insane!
― I'm pretty sure Alan was there too—did nothing but hide!
― Being a founder doesn't earn you an extra life, lol
― If it was a gunfight, he'd just go duck in Mexico too
The viewers were amazed. And it wasn't just them who were happy.
"That should keep the detectives and Federal Marshals from catching up."
"That was cleanly handled!"
Both Wild Pack members cheered, clapping Lee Gyeongbok on the back.
"That was brilliant!"
"Did you rob the bank in three minutes like this too? You're way better than us!"
Lee Gyeongbok responded with a faint smile. But then his expression darkened.
"It's too early to relax yet."
Question marks filled the chat again, as Lee Gyeongbok quickly explained.
"Didn't the hunters come in person, even Alan? If they're showing up themselves, they probably brought their elite agents."
Given the threat level, saul and other first-class agents were surely present.
"I saw the hunter names—most are top-rankers. But even pooling funds, just hiring a few elite agents is barely affordable."
Compared to the first group of hunters who had hired detectives and attacked, the calculation was simple. Just hiring first-class agent Saul and detectives would cost a fortune.
"So there are probably more hunters waiting somewhere."
― Oh? King-level reasoning?
― Preparing a second wave attack?
― What if they're camping at the destination? lol
― Camping is kinda scummy though.
― But camping doesn't work on Godple anyway.
As the chat reacted, Lee Gyeongbok focused harder.
This wasn't just a guess.
'There must be something else left.'
A faint sense of foreboding tingled ahead. He stuck his head out the window and examined the train's direction.
"Hm, there's a bridge."
The tracks ran over a railroad bridge between two valleys. Lee Gyeongbok narrowed his eyes.
"Ah, so that's it."
As they got closer, he could make out bundles of dynamite fastened under the bridge.
The viewers understood as they followed his gaze.
― Whoa?
― What's that!?
― The detectives were just a distraction...
― Did they prepare this because they knew Godple couldn't be beaten head-on?
― Right, lull them into a sense of security then blow up the bridge!
― Aiming for a train wreck with us inside!?
― Even Godple can't escape this!
― But he figured it out instantly!
― Perfect-Eye's observation skill is on another level!
― So now what? How do you get out of this one?
The chat flew by.
Following Lee Gyeongbok's gaze, the other two looked out as well.
"What the hell is that!?"
"Damn! Bunch, slow down!"
Wild Pack had also found the dynamite and panicked. Bunch shook his head urgently.
"Damn it! We're already too close! We'll have to jump!"
"We'd break something jumping at this speed!"
"Better broken bones than dead! We have to survive!"
They raised voices at each other, but Lee Gyeongbok signaled for their attention.
"No need to jump."
Compared to the others, his relaxed attitude left them speechless. Instead, Lee Gyeongbok smiled and raised his sniper pistol.
"What are you doing?"
"Purple?"
He didn't answer—he just aimed and held his breath briefly, then pulled the trigger.
BANG—the gunshot echoed.
"That's it."
It was over.
* * *
The hunter team tasked with blowing up the bridge was busy.
"The train's coming!"
"Wait for my signal!"
"Got it!"
News of the detectives' defeat had already reached them. Even with first-class agents, they hadn't expected them to succeed.
"Well, at least the distraction worked."
"Didn't expect it to end so soon."
"No matter how good Purple is, nobody survives a fall from here."
The train wasn't slowing—it was speeding up. The hunters thought everything was going according to plan.
"Almost there..."
As soon as the train passed over, the plan was to blow up the bridge.
In the tense silence, suddenly—a single gunshot echoed nearby.
"Huh?"
"What was that?"
"Is everyone okay?!"
The hunters glanced at each other nervously, wondering if Lee Gyeongbok had sniped one of them.
"Whew, that startled me."
"I thought we were discovered."
"Same here."
After confirming everyone was safe, the hunters chuckled—then focused again.
The train was already entering the bridge.
"Just a bit more—"
While waiting for the perfect timing—
"Huh?!"
Suddenly, one of them shouted in surprise—startling the others.
"P-Purple just shot the connection cable!"
"What?"
"What are you talking about?"
The hunter had gotten word through stream sniping. The others blinked in disbelief.
"The cable connecting the switch and the dynamite!"
"Wait, no way—?"
"With that one shot just now?"
Everyone dropped their jaws.
Shooting such a thin cable from a moving train, and with a modified, scope-less pistol?
"Is that even..."
Their skepticism died instantly. After all, they were all regular viewers of Purple's channel.
"Hit the switch! Hit the switch now!"
"Uh, uh?!"
They snapped out of it and pulled the detonation switch—but nothing happened.
They knew, instantly.
"No way, seriously?"
"That's insane."
"Wow..."
The plan had failed.
But there was more to come.
"Holy crap—"
Before they could finish their words, muzzle flashes flickered from the train and gunshots rang out in succession.
One after another, the hunters dropped like dominos.
[Dead]
The screen went black, and two red characters appeared.
The stunned hunters sat there blankly for a moment, then reality sank in.
'He really tracked our positions and picked us off?'
They quickly returned to Lee Gyeongbok's stream.
[-Wait;;; You can see us from there?]
[-Wow, all the high-rank participants just got wiped]
[-It wasn't even on horseback, he did it from a train?]
[-(Kemalcon)(Kemalcon)(Kemalcon)]
[-You'd need a King-level instant replay to spot that]
[-Those eyes!]
[-Ancient divine-rank eyesight, lol]
[-Perfect-Eye misses not a single frame]
[-Just seeing it is insane, but his reaction speed is next level]
The chat was filled with praise for the previous display.
〈But that was actually a great attempt. With each OTP, I can see the participants thinking and putting in more effort.〉
Lee Gyeongbok replied with a bright smile on-screen.
〈I hope everyone works even harder in future matches to challenge me.〉
Chat filled with "lol."
[-Looking for more ways to make it tough, lol]
[-Since he can't raise the game difficulty, he'll raise the viewers' skills?]
[-Will he train the participants just to challenge himself!?]
[-This is all just for his own amusement, huh?]
[-Can't hide that Black Company CEO's nature!]
[-Now he wants to grind up the shareholders, too]
[-Hey! Make me ThatSilentGuy!]
Even the participating viewers happily joined in the chat.
[-You're clearing even this? What more do you want!]
[-I spent my whole bank and got 5-sec'd lol]
[-Way too dominant!]
As Lee Gyeongbok smiled even more, suddenly the screen faded to black.
〈Huh?〉
While both Lee Gyeongbok and the chat filled with question marks, white letters appeared on the black screen.
[Outlaw Ending No.1 – To Mexico]
Lee Gyeongbok exclaimed in surprise,
〈Ah, there's an ending for online mode too?〉
An ending existed even in the online session.
