Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 648 - 438: Soul-Binding Scythe? Between Blessing and Disaster!

"Open the castle gates, prepare for the charge!"

Fang Zhou’s voice resonated once again through the skies.

On the distant Mage Tower, a white light flashed rapidly before turning blood-red. This was the signal to attack.

The strongmen guarding the gates immediately sprang into action. They used all their might to turn the winch, and the heavy steel gates slowly began to open.

Accompanied by the harsh sound of grinding metal, a path to victory appeared before everyone.

The gate actually opened?

In the sky, Vladimir hovered, at a complete loss. The two emerald sparks in his eye sockets suddenly erupted with a dazzling light.

His gaze was firmly fixed below. The castle gates, once seemingly indestructible and eternal, were now slowly swinging open. Everything behind the walls was being exposed to the waiting Undead Army.

Vladimir could barely believe his eyes.

So easily, the enemy had bared their throat, as if inviting death’s embrace.

The low-level undead were beings of pure instinct, lacking any intelligence. Upon seeing the new breach, they unhesitatingly leaped down from the piles of corpses already stacked to the top of the walls. Because of the height, the skeletons and zombies at the top of the piles splattered on the ground, instantly becoming heaps of shattered bones and rancid gore.

However, this did nothing to slow the advance of the Undead Army.

On the contrary, they surged forward like a raging gray-white tide, resolved to sweep everything away as they swarmed into the open gate.

A look of mixed surprise and delight flashed across Vladimir’s eyes.

He let out a hoarse, triumphant laugh.

The battle was far from over, and the castle’s defenders had not yet suffered any significant losses. However, with the gates now open, the scales of victory had begun to tilt inexorably in his favor.

In his view, no force could withstand this seemingly endless torrent of undead.

But at that very moment, an earth-shattering roar greeted the Undead Calamity.

"Celestial Court Knight Order, advance!"

Immediately after, a figure burning like fire appeared at the castle gate, charging headlong into the gray-white Undead Army. It was a Heavy Knight on a tall warhorse, clad in brilliant golden-red armor, like a War God born from fire.

If ordinary soldiers were to face such an overwhelming aura and the deafening thunder of hoofbeats, they would be paralyzed with fear, perhaps even drop their weapons and flee. But for these skeletons and zombies, their decaying bodies harbored no fear.

They raised their rusty blades and spears, attempting to block the warrior’s path by forming a sharp, hedgehog-like wall of weapons before him.

With a furious roar, the knight’s warhorse soared through the air and crashed into the undead formation. The rusty weapons seemed fragile in comparison, snapping into useless shards with sharp, cracking sounds. The knight swung his Knight’s Sword fiercely. Each slash cut through the air with a whistle, sending the surrounding skeletons and zombies scattering in disarray.

Then, the sight of countless more fiery-red figures seared the eyes of the Pseudo-Corpse Witch, Vladimir, causing him to let out a startled wail.

Each Heavy Knight was like an invincible War God. Blood-red Battle Qi flared around their bodies like burning flames as they trampled the undead torrent under their hooves with overwhelming force.

The gray-white Undead Army tried to pack itself tighter, raising a tangled forest of innumerable bony appendages and swollen, green arms. Every hand clutched a weapon, attempting to leverage their sheer numbers to stop the charge.

Yet, it was all in vain. No number of skeletons and zombies could stop this terrifying Knight Order. They forged ahead as if trampling insects, crushing and destroying everything in their path.

In truth, the combat strength of low-level undead was not high. A skeleton’s bony frame could collapse into a pile of fragments from a single heavy blow with a blunt weapon. Zombies, although much stronger than in life, moved quite slowly. If one could suppress their fear, even an ordinary Black Iron-level Professional could easily deal with them. But unlike humans, these deceased beings possessed no fear, which was often their greatest asset in achieving victory.

This time, however, that asset became the most lethal reason for their defeat.

The tightly packed skeletons and zombies were completely unable to resist the charge of the Celestial Court Knight Order. These golden-red figures charged wherever the undead were most densely packed.

After their Knight’s Long Spears inflicted terrible casualties in the initial charge, the brave warriors cast them aside. Drawing War Axes and Heavy Swords, they rampaged through the Undead Army, cutting left and right, completely unstoppable.

In that moment, the air was filled with the clear battle cries of the knights and the heroic whinnying of their horses. This was accompanied by the crack of splitting skulls and the terrifying groans and shrieks of the zombies.

These knights ripped innumerable gaps into the unimaginably dense formation of the Undead Army, sending it spiraling toward an irreversible collapse.

"No! This is impossible! I forbid it!"

Standing on the Skeleton Giant Dragon’s head, the Pseudo-Corpse Witch Vladimir let out a piercing scream.
