Miss Evil Scientist's Evil Plan for Today

Chapter 201 : Chapter 201

Chapter 201

Miss Artisan-Crafted

The young nun wore a gentle smile as she began enthusiastically promoting the church’s worship services to the two of them.

Her words and gestures clearly showed signs of professional training.

Lu Zheng took out the slip he’d received from the Adventurer’s Guild and handed it over.

“I’m an adventurer here on a commission from the Adventurer’s Guild.”

The nun smiled as she glanced at the slip Lu Zheng handed over, her expression unchanged.

“I see. Please come with me, I’ll take you to see Father Feng Qi.”

On the way there, the nun still didn’t forget to continue promoting the church’s worship services to Yi Ning and Lu Zheng, strongly suggesting they try attending a worship session after meeting the Father.

In her own words:

“Just think of it as experiencing a new and novel kind of entertainment.”

“And it’s free anyway.”

Was it really appropriate for a church nun to say that?

The nun quickly led the two away from the crowd, arriving at a path that was rarely used.

Judging by the lavish decorations along the way, this was probably the so-called VIP exclusive passage.

Upon entering a room, the nun excused herself and left first.

In the center of the room stood a tall man with a solemn demeanor—a priest.

“You ever throw a priest outfit in there too?”

Staring at the priest’s very familiar-looking black priest robe, Lu Zheng couldn’t help but send a telepathic message to Yi Ning.

The nun robes earlier had still been alright—decorated and elaborate enough to only faintly resemble something from Blue Star. But the priest standing before them now…

No, it was exactly the same.

The design of his clothes looked like they’d been carved out of the same mold as those worn by priests on Blue Star.

“Best answer—I don’t know.”

Yi Ning genuinely didn’t know.

“My roommates back at Evil University also used that trash bin!

Remember that one called Xia An?

The woman you saw on my screen at my house before—she used to play with it all the time. For all we know, she played some priest and nun cosplay and tossed the stuff in there afterward.

That 0.01 before might’ve been something she threw in too!”

Your evil organization sure plays wild games.

But something like a 0.01 would usually get tossed out with “milk” in it, right? Who throws away the whole box too?

Lu Zheng fell silent for two seconds, choosing to stop thinking about this.

“So that means this so-called Great God Kir isn’t just one person, huh?”

“So what? It’s not like they’ll give me a single gold coin just because I’m their chosen one.”

Yi Ning rolled her eyes.

“Welcome, both of you. I’m the head of this church. You may call me Father Feng Qi.”

The priest standing at the center of the room was the first to speak, introducing himself to Lu Zheng and Yi Ning.

As he spoke, he walked toward them.

“I’ve already been informed by Sister Shabalina—the nun who brought you here earlier—that you two are the adventurers who took the mission posted by the church to acquire a blessing from the Great God Kir, yes?”

Upon hearing this, Lu Zheng raised an eyebrow slightly.

On the way here, the nun had only talked nonstop about introducing the church and trying to convince them to attend worship, without once seeming to report anything to anyone.

Father Feng Qi smiled faintly, leading Lu Zheng and Yi Ning to the seats in the room. He poured them each a glass of water and then sat down across from them.

Yi Ning introduced herself first, then raised her hand to refute Father Feng Qi’s statement.

“He’s the one who took the church’s mission. I’m the one looking to sell.”

They had discussed this before coming to the church.

Since the mission included a silver coin reward even for providing a lead, Yi Ning had proposed that Lu Zheng register as the adventurer taking the mission, while she would act as a stranger looking to sell a divine blessing.

Unfortunately, Lu Zheng felt that doing so was borderline exploitative and was a little uncomfortable with the idea.

But after some half-persuasion, half-coercion from Yi Ning, he reluctantly nodded in agreement.

Still, Lu Zheng wasn’t thick-skinned enough to lie to these alien folks directly. So he merely picked up his cup and took a sip of tea, not confirming nor denying what Yi Ning had said.

Pretending not to hear was the most he could do.

“Is that so?”

Father Feng Qi smiled and didn’t press the topic further.

“In that case, may I take a look at the blessing you’re willing to part with, Miss?”

Yi Ning reached into her clothes and fumbled around for a moment before pulling out the blessing she had carefully prepared.

A Luban lock with twenty-four interlocking pieces, bearing her signature “Not Qualified” stamp.

“Oh…↑ What a clever design.”

Father Feng Qi quickly took out an ornate protective case, motioned for Yi Ning to place the Luban lock inside, and then leaned over to observe it closely and repeatedly.

After watching it for a few seconds, he lifted his head.

“My apologies, but may I bring this blessing for a quick inspection?”

“Please don’t misunderstand—this is just church protocol.”

“Of course, as the owner of this blessing, you may accompany me. The church guarantees that we will not let this treasure out of your sight for even a second.”

Father Feng Qi pressed his palms together lightly, his expression full of sincerity.

“No problem.”

Yi Ning waved her hand nonchalantly.

She wasn’t worried about the item being exposed as a fake.

After all, it was something personally crafted by the Great God Kir just yesterday, complete with a genuine “Not Qualified” stamp. One hundred percent authentic.

Hearing Yi Ning’s reply, Father Feng Qi’s smile grew even broader.

“Please come with me.”

He quickly stood up, preparing to lead Yi Ning and Lu Zheng to the inspection room.

Yi Ning looked at the Luban lock sitting alone on the table and scratched her head, puzzled.

“This thing… this blessing, aren’t you taking it with you?”

Father Feng Qi paused for a moment.

“Such a precious blessing should, of course, be personally carried by its owner.”

If something this valuable were to be damaged accidentally, the church’s compensation policy would be a massive headache.

There had been such incidents in the past.

Someone once brought a fake blessing to the church, then deliberately let it get damaged in the hands of church personnel, just to claim a hefty compensation.

It had caused no end of trouble.

So unless the blessing had been confirmed genuine, the church staff would not lightly touch it.

Yi Ning instantly realized the logic.

This item was now a priceless divine blessing—not just the piece of scrap wood she had ripped off a helicopter seat last night. It wasn’t really appropriate to let others hold it so casually.

Feigning magnanimity, she picked up the box from the table.

“Bringing the item to the church myself was already a sign of my great trust in your church, and Father Feng Qi’s conduct just now has only deepened that trust.”

“Ha ha!”

Father Feng Qi laughed as well.

“Thank you both for your trust in the church. Please come with me.”

He extended a hand and led them into a bright, spacious room, pointing to a strange-looking device inside.

“Miss Yi Ning, please place your blessing at the center of this device.”

“This is the latest device invented by our Pope, Lord Wingate Jacob. In just a few seconds, it can detect whether an item carries the divine power of the Great God Kir.”

“Miss Yi Ning?”

Seeing Yi Ning frozen in place, Father Feng Qi called out to her a few more times.

“Ah! Oh! Sorry, sorry.”

Yi Ning finally snapped back to reality and, under Father Feng Qi’s gaze, placed the Luban lock—box and all—at the center of the device.

As Father Feng Qi pressed the button on the device, a blinding light began to shine from the center.

Seeing this light, a symbol of a divine blessing, Father Feng Qi’s eyes also lit up with excitement.
