Miss Evil Scientist's Evil Plan for Today

Chapter 145 : Chapter 145

145. Help Me, Yi Ning-Amon!

Lu Zheng curled the corners of his mouth.

He quietly shifted his gaze away from the envelope and glanced at Yi Ning, who was sitting nearby.

Yi Ning sat obediently on the sofa, her legs pressed together, both hands tightly placed on her knees.

There was a hint of nervousness and expectation on her face, and she was staring fixedly at Lu Zheng.

Obviously, she was hoping that he would take the initiative to bring up the matter of those letters.

Lu Zheng once again moved his gaze to the envelope, gave it a simple glance, and then shifted it back to Yi Ning’s face.

Perhaps his movement this time wasn’t discreet enough, because Yi Ning immediately noticed him shifting his gaze.

Almost at the same moment, she moved her own gaze elsewhere, humming a little tune as if nothing had happened.

An utterly perfunctory cover-up.

Lu Zheng felt a bit helpless.

He stared intently at Yi Ning. After confirming that she was determined not to bring it up on her own, he decided to remain silent as well.

For all he knew, it could be another one of Yi Ning’s custom-made little traps.

He picked up the cola bottle, which had almost no visible bubbles left, and cautiously twisted the cap. Hearing the hiss of gas escaping, he glanced at the bottle to make sure the liquid inside wasn’t surging upward before fully opening it.

“Pshhh—”

Contrary to his expectations, the cola shot out rapidly the moment the cap came off. Fortunately, the pressure wasn’t too strong, so it didn’t spray onto Lu Zheng’s Pixel Screen—just soaked his hands and the upper part of his clothes.

“Pfft—hahahaha!”

Seeing Lu Zheng in such an awkward state, Yi Ning smirked triumphantly, pointing at his clothes and laughing loudly.

Once she had laughed enough, she took a deep breath to calm herself, tucked the hair in front of her forehead behind her ear, and gave Lu Zheng a half-smile.

“When exactly did you get the delusion that I wouldn’t tamper with your cola?”

Yi Ning picked up her own cola from the table, leaned back against the sofa, lightly shook it in her hand, and took an elegant sip.

Then she pointed at Lu Zheng. “This is the price for ignoring a young girl’s sincere plea!”

“Too bad it didn’t spill on your pants—otherwise I would’ve taken a picture and spread it online to make up a rumor that the ace hero of the D-City Hero Association wet himself when facing me, Dr. Alien!”

As she finished, Yi Ning even deliberately glanced down at Lu Zheng’s pants and waved her phone in front of him.

Luckily, Lu Zheng was already somewhat used to these little sadistic hobbies of hers.

“What ‘sincere plea’ from a young girl?”

On Lu Zheng’s Pixel Screen, a sweating yellow bean emoji appeared.

“If you tampered with the cola from the start, then whether I ignored you or not, wouldn’t the end result be the same?”

He set the bottle aside, picked up a tissue from the coffee table to wipe his hands, then tossed a die into the air, snapped his fingers at the cola stain on his chest, and the stain magically vanished from his clothes.

Yi Ning watched his actions with a trace of envy, but that hint of envy disappeared instantly when Lu Zheng looked up.

She retorted confidently, “If you had considered a young girl’s feelings from the start, in return, she would have revealed the hidden trap for you.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

Lu Zheng casually waved her off, then stretched his arm out to pick up the two envelopes from the coffee table and looked at Yi Ning.

“Then I’ll mend the fence after the sheep are gone. What are these letters?”

He waved the envelopes in front of her. With her consent, he pulled out a few sheets from one of them, flipping them over carefully.

Hmm…

“I see.”

Lu Zheng nodded.

The sheets were covered in the same strange scrawls as the envelope, so he couldn’t read a single word.

“What does it say here?”

He waved the paper in front of Yi Ning again.

“So you really can’t read a single word.”

Yi Ning rolled her eyes at him, but her expression didn’t show any surprise.

After all, that was the Universal Script of the cosmos—if Lu Zheng, a native of Blue Star, could read it, that would’ve been the real surprise.

Yi Ning reached into the pocket of her white lab coat, rummaged around, and pulled out something that looked like jelly.

“This is exactly what we need!”

She hummed a tune for her own background music while raising the item high in her hand.

“Ta-da-da-da! Translation Konjac!”

Lu Zheng blinked at the jelly in her hand.

After watching so many cartoons over the years, he never thought he’d get to taste the real thing one day.

“Help me, Yi Ning-Amon!”

He reached out, intending to take the Translation Konjac.

But just as his hand was about to touch it, Yi Ning suddenly pulled it away.

“This isn’t for you to eat.”

The corners of her mouth curved upward into a malicious grin.

“W-what are you doing?”

Seeing her expression, Lu Zheng had a bad feeling.

“Hehehe~”

“Even though this thing is called Translation Konjac, it’s not the same as that certain blue raccoon cat’s gadget, you know~”

Yi Ning’s cold laugh deepened.

She squeezed the Translation Konjac in her hand, and it morphed like clay into another shape.

“I just named it Translation Konjac out of personal preference. Its real name should be Translation Clay or Translation Putty. Naturally, the method of use isn’t eating it directly.”

Her hands didn’t stop moving. Very soon, the Translation Putty in her hand had been shaped into a baseball bat.

She swung the bat a few times in the air, then walked behind Lu Zheng, gripping it with both hands and extending it forward, assuming the posture of delivering a mercy blow.

Cold sweat ran down Lu Zheng’s back.

“Uh… don’t tell me the way to use this thing is—”

“It’s exactly what you think~”

Yi Ning narrowed her eyes and smiled sweetly, then, faster than lightning, whacked him hard on the head.

“Thunk!”

Thanks to his helmet, Lu Zheng didn’t feel any pain—just the jolt from Yi Ning putting her full strength into the swing.

He had come here to help, and yet he still had to suffer this torture.

“You little bastard!”

He trembled as he gave Yi Ning the middle finger.

Then, picking up the same sheets from the envelope again, he checked to see the results of that hit.

“Oh… I see…”

He nodded at the paper.

“This still looks like I can’t read a single word!”

Lu Zheng slapped the paper onto the coffee table and turned to question Yi Ning about the quality of her wicked gadget.

“What? How is that possible?”

Yi Ning made an exaggeratedly fake expression of shock.

She stroked her chin in mock contemplation, then acted as if she had suddenly realized something. She made a fist with one hand and lightly smacked it into her other palm. Follow current ɴᴏᴠᴇʟs on Nov3lFɪre.ɴet

“Oh! I remember now!”

“This bat has to hit the victim—oh, no, the user—directly. It can’t be through something like a helmet… or helmet-like objects.”

“You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”

Lu Zheng gave Yi Ning a double middle finger.

Yi Ning lightly tapped her own head with her fist and stuck out her pink little tongue at him.

“Ehe~”
