Watching the continuously recovering 【Earth Will】 from its previously withered state, Janna’s good mood became even better.
As two of the most dominant 【Laws】 within 【Zoe Star】—the 【Ocean Law】 and the 【Heaven-and-Earth Law】—they had always existed in a mutually dependent state, sharing prosperity and suffering alike.
If not for 【Zoe Star】 being destroyed so completely, with all 【Source Power】 drained to exhaustion, then with only the heritage left by the 【Ocean】 and 【Earth】 within 【Zoe Star】, they could have restored themselves on their own.
Fortunately, under Janna’s dedicated care as a responsible “Master,” the 【Ocean Will】 of 【Zoe Star】 had already awakened ahead of time and even developed its own consciousness.
Because of that, the partially restored 【Ocean Will】 had begun to automatically repair the 【Earth Will】, causing the ecosystem of the 【Laws】 within 【Zoe Star】 to start circulating once more.
Although, with the current strength of the 【Ocean Will】, it was not yet enough for the 【Earth Will】 to develop an independent consciousness as well, it still allowed the “Purified Land,” which Janna had long dreamed of, to expand rapidly and even begin to suppress the pollution buried within the earth.
"By my will, I command you—summon the Celestial Finch."
Having returned to her Spiritual Body form, Janna withdrew her awareness from the 【Law Consciousness Cluster】 and flew back above the swiftly recovering land. Then she summoned the Celestial Finch, who had been resting for some time, once again from the 【Spirit Realm】.
"Aph, the earth veins are currently in rapid recovery. During this time, assist from the side—don’t let the contamination of the earth spread into the newly formed veins."
"Understood, Master."
Following Janna’s command, the Celestial Finch—who had long been skilled in purifying corruption—transformed from her parrot form into her battle form.
She then stood on a high slope, staring unwaveringly at the border of the “Purified Land.”
"It’s a pity that even though the 【Earth Will】 has recovered considerably, these thousand trees still grow so slowly."
During this time, aside from condensing 【Source Power】 to nurture 【Zoe Star】, Janna also devoted part of her focus to completing the 【Main Quest】.
However, so far, of the one thousand tree seeds Janna had originally planted, less than one-third had survived.
Even though she constantly infused 【Growth Origin】 into their roots, the trees’ growth rate—and even their survival rate—remained far below her expectations.
At first, Janna had thought it was because 【Zoe Star】 lacked sunlight and rain, preventing the trees from growing properly.
Yet, even after she used water-type magic stones for irrigation, the results were still disappointing.
She even tried using her 【Natural Affinity】 talent, which allowed her to communicate with plants, to sense the “emotions” of the trees.
But apart from when she first planted them—when the trees briefly responded to her—afterward, no matter how she “asked,”
it was as if her voice vanished into a bottomless sea; she could no longer sense any emotion from a single tree.
It was almost as though the trees had already “died.”
"Could it be… these trees are already dead?"
The thought made Janna immediately descend beside a sapling about half her height. She placed her palm against its trunk, sensing the vitality within.
"Fortunately, this one isn’t dead yet—but it won’t live much longer—"
Through her investigation, Janna could indeed feel faint life within the sapling, but she also realized that this life still existed only because of the 【Growth Origin】 she had infused.
Simply put, the sapling was still alive only because the 【Growth Origin】 was “sustaining” it. Once the 【Growth Origin】 was completely consumed, its life would end.
"Could it be that I really have to find a separate place in the 【Material Plane】 just to plant trees?"
Realizing that her 【Main Quest】 of “planting a thousand trees” might not be feasible within 【Zoe Star】, Janna once again entertained the idea.
Yet, having already invested several months of effort, she was reluctant to give up so easily.
"Since there’s no time limit on this quest, I might as well look for other solutions before giving up entirely."
Speaking of solutions, Janna suddenly thought of that advanced green elf who mastered the 【Law of Plants】—and also the White Tower’s instructor for 《Advanced Transfiguration》—Eunice-Gale.
"Professor Eunice once said that if I ever have questions related to rituals of the natural domain, I can consult her anytime—perhaps this could be a good approach."
Aside from asking about how to “grow trees” on 【Fallen Star】, Janna also wanted to systematically learn more about matters related to her 【Natural Affinity】 talent.
"Haa——"
Letting out a long sigh, Janna—who currently had no better ideas—glanced once more over the conditions of the land and sea before severing her consciousness link with 【Zoe Star】 and returning to her dormitory.
"It’s already this late?"
Opening her eyes back in her dorm room, Janna glanced at the mechanical clock, which pointed to eight in the evening, and rubbed her slightly sore neck.
"Since it’s already so late, it wouldn’t be proper to disturb Professor Eunice now. I’ll go find her after class tomorrow morning."
After saying that, still dressed in her pajamas, Janna ate a simple dinner and then climbed into bed, resuming the condensation of 【Source Power】—a task she had paused for two days.
Through her efforts over this period, Janna’s efficiency in condensing 【Source Power】 had greatly improved. Moreover, she could now condense it while engaging in Shallow Meditation.
"Before long, I might be able to try entering Deep Meditation while condensing 【Source Power】. It’ll be difficult, but if I approach it correctly, it should be possible——"

Steady breathing flowed through Janna’s lips as the verdant glow of law energy shimmered in her palms. Bathed in the moonlight streaming through her window, Janna formally entered a meditative state.

Having completed all of that day’s lessons in the 【World Inside the Book】, the first thing Janna did after her Spiritual Consciousness returned to her body was don her wizard robe and hurry toward the White Tower’s forty-first floor—where the faculty offices were located.
