So I Became a Witch and Started Doing Daily Quests

Chapter 378 : Void Witch

Chapter 378: Void Witch

“Ding—”

As the elevator doors opened, Janna arrived on time at Lilith-McGee’s private office on the fourth floor of the Magic Tower.

“Thank you, Tower Spirit.”

“You’re welcome.”

Like other wizards, Lilith-McGee’s office was filled with walls of private books and a massive workbench.

The only difference from other wizard offices was that Lilith-McGee’s office contained various specimens of creatures from other worlds, including several humanoid beings.

“You came right on time.”

“Good evening, Professor McGee.”

Upon entering the office, Janna saw Lilith-McGee leisurely reading on the sofa chair.

“Sit down, there’s no need to be so restrained.”

“Yes, Professor.”

Knowing that Lilith-McGee valued etiquette, Janna still sat upright on the sofa, back straight, legs tilted and slightly pressed together, not relaxing herself just because the other’s demeanor was casual.

“Would you like coffee or black tea?”

“Black tea is fine, thank you.”

Seeing the kettle on the coffee table already steeping a black tea bag, Janna made no additional requests that would trouble her host.

“Mm, you’re welcome.”

After handing Janna a steaming cup of black tea, Lilith-McGee closed her book, looking at Janna with a half-smiling gaze before formally beginning the evening’s topic.

“First, I must congratulate you on being able to join the Witch Cult.”

“Cough—!”

Even though Janna’s talent in Muscle Control allowed her to keep her composure, Lilith-McGee’s sudden words nearly made her choke on her tea.

“Professor McGee, do you mean—”

“That’s right. I am also a member of the Witch Cult. You may call me the Thousand-Faced Witch—or rather, the Void Witch.”

Janna knew that no matter how calm her expression was, the shock in her eyes betrayed her true thoughts.

“You are—the Void Witch?”

“That’s right.”

Like the Lily-of-the-Valley Witch, Koukie-Wolf, the Void Witch held considerable fame in the wizarding world.

The Void Witch was a renowned witch with an A-level spatial affinity talent, and also a highly acclaimed master of Sealing Studies.

One of her most famous achievements was single-handedly sealing a Darksun Apostle into the void, effortlessly reversing the tide of battle.

However, until now, no one had ever seen the true face of the Void Witch.

It was said that every time the Void Witch appeared, her appearance was completely different. For this reason, she earned another title—the Thousand-Faced Witch.

“Your ability to join the Witch Cult was not only due to the Silvermoon Witch’s recommendation, but also my own.”

Hearing this, Janna couldn’t help but swallow nervously.

The Silvermoon Witch Lilith-McGee mentioned should be Sophina-Silvermoon, a pure-blood Silvermoon Elf with the rank of First-Tier Silvermoon Scholar.

At first, when she received Sophina-Silvermoon’s invitation, Janna had felt excitement, but also suspicion.

After all, she had not known Sophina-Silvermoon for long, nor had they met many times.

Even though Janna could feel Sophina-Silvermoon’s fondness for her, mere fondness was not enough to justify such a recommendation.

It was only when Sophina-Silvermoon revealed that Janna possessed the Fragment of the Law of Beauty, and pointed out that the Witch Cult had a complete method of comprehending the Law of Beauty, that Janna accepted the reasoning. Her possession of the Law of Beauty aligned perfectly with the Witch Cult’s selection standards.

Moreover, based on the Witch Cult’s understanding at the time, Janna not only possessed the Fragment of the Law of Beauty but was also a Wizard Apprentice with a B-level Plant Affinity talent. This made her even more compatible with the Witch Cult, which specialized in potion-making.

Altogether, this convinced Janna that the Witch Cult sought her for her talents.

Still, one thing puzzled her—how the Witch Cult had managed to know so many of her personal details so clearly.

Although her Wizard Talents at White Coral Academy were no real secret, the fact that she possessed the Fragment of the Law of Beauty was known to only a select few instructors at the academy.

“Professor McGee, you hid yourself so well.”

Even though Janna had long known that Lilith-McGee possessed not only an outstanding transfiguration talent but also spatial affinity, she would never have imagined that the graceful-looking Lilith-McGee was actually the Void Witch.

“It’s not that I hid it well. It’s just that no normal person would ever link the renowned Void Witch of the Witch Cult with a mere teaching professor at an academy.”

Hearing this, Janna nodded slightly.

At first, when she and Vivian chatted, they too wondered why someone with such rare talents would willingly remain as a mere instructor in a small wizard gathering place, teaching only Transfiguration.

Only today did Janna realize that being an instructor was simply one of the Void Witch’s hidden identities.

“Actually, I really enjoy teaching at White Coral Academy. So, you may consider the Void Witch as simply my side job in the Witch Cult.”

Side job?

Hearing this additional remark, Janna felt confused.

Could it be that “Professor McGee” was Lilith-McGee’s true career, while the Void Witch was only her side job?

That was completely opposite to Janna’s expectations.

“Professor McGee, I still want to thank you again for recommending me to join the Witch Cult.”

So far, apart from receiving one handwritten notebook on Introductory Potionology, she had not had any further contact with the Witch Cult.

Even her other recommender, Sophina-Silvermoon, had disappeared during this time without leaving even a single message.

But still, Janna sincerely felt grateful for the opportunity to rely on the Witch Cult’s power.

“You’re welcome. It was only part of my duty. Besides, judging from today’s evaluation results, my judgment was not wrong.”
