Chapter 24 : Soaring Griffin
It was worth mentioning that Bai Yu had previously ordered the little ones to chop trees and mine rocks.
After a day and a night of nonstop gathering, Bai Yu happily gained 2k stone and 1k wood.
For those level 1 undead with their level locked, hunting might be a bit difficult, but chopping trees and mining rocks was just right.
Today was the third day and the lords’ demand for food had dropped again.
Looking at the situation, Bai Yu felt a little embarrassed to be a profiteering merchant by selling at four times the price.
Mainly because she was afraid of getting scolded.
Bai Yu looked at the food listed on the trading hub and found that those big shots who sold food like her weren't doing very well either.
More and more lords started trading food at lower prices.
This was tricky.
Right now, Bai Yu’s storage had 3600 food, it was obviously too much to just rely on [The Orphan of Zhao] to use it all.
"Whatever, let's just list 3000 food first, just sell whatever can be sold.
I can always take them down again."
Because every time she hunted and got animal corpses, Bai Yu would first use undead summoning magic before dismantling.
Now, even though there was the Black Water Altar, it also meant an extra step, so it still wasted a bunch of time.
Bai Yu put up the listing early in the morning.
Otherwise, if she waited until the evening, the food prices would probably plummet again.
[Krabby Patty initiated a trade!]
[One food, in exchange for forty wood or twenty stone.]
[Remaining stock: 3000.]
After Bai Yu listed her food on the exchange, she stopped caring and left it up to fate.
She didn't even need to think to know that the world chat was cursing at her right now.
If she had to solely rely on the undead to collect stone and wood, the area around the castle would probably be stripped bare.
This dogshit system obviously didn’t want these lords to have peaceful few days.
If they relied solely on resources around the castle to survive, more than half of the lords would be screwed.
If the lords only wanted to casually develop during the seven day newbie protection period, then they were dead wrong.
This was a grand battle royale among countless races.
Maybe some naive people considered it a game, but Bai Yu knew that this wasn't just a simple game, this was a battlefield.
If everything was done with a laid back attitude, then dead would be just around the corner.
When she was young and slacked off in school, she stopped learning!
When she was an adult and slacked off at work, she stopped working!
Even when she got old and slacked off, she stopped living!
A life as a slacker was straight up terrible.
If some other lords provoked Bai Yu thinking she was just a little white haired loli, then they would be gravely mistaken.
Bai Yu would show them what an undead catastrophe was.
The fight for supremacy, go fight, go conquer!
Bai Yu wouldn’t show mercy or pity.
Talk about feelings?
Sorry, you can go talk to the king of hell instead.
Bai Yu was an orphan with no attachments and wouldn't be dragged out by others.
Bai Yu even less like those love obsessed lords who had already fucking transmigrated into this fantasy world but still just thought about finding love here.
Besides, Bai Yu herself was a pretty girl.
What, are you saying to find a guy?
Then Bai Yu might as well stab herself to death with her scythe, she wasn't a pervert who liked men to that extent.
At this moment, to the west of the castle, outside of the terriority.
Arthur was circling in the sky, chasing after a griffin that was only a tenth of its size.
The griffin was really small compared to the enormous Arthur and made use of its nimbleness.
It also took advantage of its smaller size to dodge and weave repeatedly among the boulders and trees.
Arthur, on the other hand, chose to charge straight ahead, resulting in the griffin being slightly faster.
Roar!
The griffin angrily let out a lion's roar at Arthur behind it, trying to intimidate it.
Arthur: ???
Roar!!
Arthur responded with a roar imbued with Dragon's Might.
The griffin instantly wilted as it felt the immense fear brought by Arthur behind it, it completely lost its fighting spirit and gave up the will to resist.
The griffin's anger instantly vanished and transformed into fear as it started fleeing at top speed.
It runs, it chases, it can't escape even with wings!
Arthur roared!
From behind, Arthur opened its mouth and spat out a Netherworld Dragon Breath.
The griffin sensed something was wrong, turned its head to look back and was shocked, the dragon breath by Arthur was actually larger than its own body!
The griffin hurriedly rolled to the side to try and dodge, but Arthur's Netherworld Dragon Breath was a step faster.
The griffin couldn't completely avoid it, its wings were still grazed by Arthur's Breath and icy crystals quickly froze on its wings.
The griffin let out a painful cry.
The griffin's body instantly lost balance and fell down.
Arthur dove swiftly after it, its front paw directly aimed at the griffin.
The massive skeletal body and the griffin rushed toward the ground at high speed.
Boom!
Arthur, with the griffin, crashed into the ground, kicking up a huge cloud of dust.
The griffin was already near death in Arthur's claws while Arthur was completely unharmed.
After finishing the kill, Arthur took off towards the castle with the griffin corpse in its claws.
[Your units killed a Level 7 Soaring Griffin, Gained 80 Experience Points.]
Bai Yu: ?!!
Bai Yu was stunned when she suddenly received the kill notification.
She didn't need to think, a griffin was an air unit, and Bai Yu currently only had Arthur who could kill a level 7 griffin.
Arthur was just Arthur, a badass!
Bai Yu still understood creatures like griffins, a long lion's body with the head and wings of an eagle.
They were similar to Arthur and the gargoyle, units with combat power on both land and air.
But most still preferred to attack from the sky.
Bai Yu checked Arthur's stats.
After a whole night of double experience bonus plus another morning of hunting monsters, Arthur definitely leveled up.
[Skeletal Dragon King (Arthur)]
[Unit Type: Undead]
[Loyalty: 100% (Will never betray you)]
[Unit Tier: Normal]
[Level: lv 6 (Can be improved with kills)]
[Health: None (Undead trait, cannot die unless the soul’s fire is extinguished)]
[Mana: 110]
[Strength: 60+10]
[Stamina: None]
[Agility: 60+10]
[Growth Limit: Divine Tier]
[Active Skills: Nether Dragon Breath]
[Passive Skills: Elemental Magic Immunity, Dragon's Might]
It really had reached level 6, but Arthur seemed different from the other normal undead.
It didn't gain any special transformations every 3 levels, and seem to gain skills purely by chance.
However, the plus side was that Arthur received a ten stat point increase for each level.
With the enhancement from the Black Water Altar, Bai Yu guessed that even a level 8 Soaring Griffin wouldn't be Arthur's match.
It was too bad that the soaring griffin was killed by Arthur outside the castle's territory and there was no option to check the stats of a corpse.
Otherwise, Bai Yu could have checked the soaring griffin's stats for comparison.
But Bai Yu felt that the soaring griffin should have had roughly the same strength as a gargoyle, maybe a bit stronger.
No, maybe not, she almost forgot that gargoyles were undead.
Bai Yu looked up and just happened to see Arthur carrying the corpse of the brownish yellow mane soaring griffin back to the castle.
