A Righteous Demon Girl and the Angel She’ll Never Meet

Chapter 84

84: Raising the Sword of Rebellion Toward Heaven

"Who is... she?"

Looking away in slight panic, Evelia patted her nonexistent chest, still somewhat shaken.

Although it lasted only an instant, she had indeed, genuinely felt the gaze of that cute girl.

"So what exactly... is going on right now!? I've never heard of Church initiation ceremonies having this kind of segment!!!"

Evelia felt like crying but had no tears. Even she didn't know whether the environment she was currently in was an illusion or a dream. But since she had arrived at this place after having a water droplet touch her forehead during the initiation ceremony... this should count as... some kind of setting, or perhaps a [fragment]?

And looking at this formation... Uncle Lucifer, Uncle Berial, Big Sister Leviathan... the Seven Demon Kings of Hell were rarely gathered together like this, and in their true forms no less, already poised for action...

Could this scene be... from when Heaven and Hell went to war?

After thinking it over, Evelia felt this was the only slightly reasonable explanation.

But if that were the case... then that young girl sitting on the Demon God Pillar, or rather on Uncle Berial's head... who exactly was she?

To be able to sit so boldly on Uncle Berial, even in his Demon God Pillar form, one would at minimum need to be a Lord of Hell, and an extremely powerful one at that, for there to be even the slightest possibility.

But the key issue was: let alone Lord of Hells, there was simply no such figure in all of Hell! Evelia was absolutely certain of this.

There was also another problem... why was her old dad absent?

Could it be...

Suddenly, a bold yet upon reflection quite reasonable hypothesis appeared in Evelia's mind.

Could her old dad have... gone alone to challenge that Angel Lord Mikali to a one-on-one fight!?

Looking at the countless figures faintly visible behind the golden light screen at the end of the sky, then looking at the densely packed magical beasts and demons on the ground, Evelia swallowed nervously.

The scale back then was truly massive...

"But if that's the case... then that girl... probably... died in this battle, right?"

If that girl had survived this war, then given her lofty status that allowed her to casually sit on Uncle Berial's shoulder, her old dad would have no reason not to introduce her.

So she must have... long ago...

At the thought of such an exquisitely beautiful girl dying in this earth-shattering war between Hell and Heaven, Evelia couldn't help but feel a sense of regret. For some reason, looking at that young girl who appeared even smaller than herself from every angle, Evelia always felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity.

Just as Evelia fell silent, the girl atop the Demon God Pillar in the distance also withdrew her gaze. A tenderness showed in her golden eyes. She slowly stood up from the Demon God Pillar, revealing a tail behind her that was disproportionately large compared to her body. Diamond-shaped dragon scales as crystalline as glazed glass covered it, giving this massive dragon tail a unique beauty.

"The time has come."

Suddenly, a childish voice that sounded somewhat familiar to Evelia reached her ears. She looked up in shock and saw that the young girl standing atop the Demon God Pillar had somehow produced a magma greatsword even larger than her entire body. Without the slightest effort, she lifted it and pointed the sharp blade, continuously spewing Hellfire, toward those figures behind the golden light screen high above.

Her wine-red hair danced recklessly in the wind behind her. Her childish, sweet voice was filled with majesty and oppressive force.

"Everyone, raise your swords of rebellion toward heaven!"

In the next moment, everything before Evelia's eyes suddenly began to collapse. The Demon God Pillar, the giant whale, the swarms of flies, the fallen angel... everything transformed into colorful bubbles, dissipating bit by bit into the air.

The world once again returned to nothingness.

But this time, a voice that Evelia found incredibly familiar reached her.

"Eve! Eve! What's wrong!? Wake up!!!"

Amya?

She's worried about me?

A trace of warmth rose in Evelia's heart. She wearily opened her eyes again. The holy light pouring down from the dome above was so bright she could barely keep them open, but she still made out Amya's face before her, filled with worry.

"Thank goodness, Eve! You're finally awake! You scared me to death just now!!! After Miss Jasmine completed the ceremony, you just stood there for some reason and wouldn't wake up no matter how we called! I was so worried!!!"

Seeing that Evelia had finally regained consciousness, Amya excitedly embraced her. Feeling the sweet lily fragrance emanating from the girl in her arms, Evelia wasn't quite sure how to explain the scene she had just witnessed. Just then, Jasmine, who had been standing silently to the side for some time, spoke up cautiously:

"Miss Evelia, may I ask... did you just see the scene of Hell and Heaven going to war?"

"Huh? How did you..."

"Mm... that makes sense then. To be honest, some exceptionally gifted mages, when receiving holy water baptism for the first time, have a small probability of glimpsing the past hidden within the holy water. The scenes each person sees are usually different. What I saw back then was the battle between the Seraph and that fallen angel Lucifer. That spectacular fight from Heaven to Hell gave me, who was still very young at the time, an enormous shock. Miss Evelia, may I ask what scene you saw..."

"What I saw... was probably the scene of Hell declaring war on Heaven."

Evelia's mind recalled the words spoken by that young girl again: "Raise the sword of rebellion toward heaven." This was probably Hell's declaration of war against Heaven back then. Her old dad wasn't there, and she didn't see that Twelve-winged Angel Lord either, so those two must have gone off to have their passionate one-on-one showdown. In that case, the girl who could declare war on Heaven in her old dad's stead must have held an extremely lofty position in Hell at that time.

Such a pity...

"By the way! Miss Evelia, since you've officially joined the Church, we should give you the corresponding Church attire~ Hmm, let me think... could you tell me your clothing size? I'll have the artisans make it for you as soon as possible!"

"My... my size? Umm... I kind of forgot..."

Evelia's clothes had always been Uncle Lucifer's responsibility, so she never paid attention to such matters... But even so, girls who didn't remember their own body measurements should be few and far between. This could probably count as one of Evelia's bad habits carried over from when she was male.

Just then, Amya's voice drifted over.

"73, 49, 78."
