A Righteous Demon Girl and the Angel She’ll Never Meet

Chapter 55 : Chapter 55

Chapter 55 : The soul-piercing gaze from Big Sis Leviathan~

“Hee hee~ Why don’t you, ugly old man over there, take a guess? How did I find this place when even the Night Watch didn’t notice the barrier?”

Iphilia turned with a smile, revealing a meaningful grin.

“Hmph! Demons’ tricks are always sly and unpredictable. I’m not interested in knowing, but barging in here means you’re asking for death. This barrier… it’s one-way only!”

The black-robed man, fused with the 【Corpse Bearer】, had a face full of cruelty.

He had no intention of wasting words.

Raising his massive arm, adorned with scarlet blood patterns, he swung it toward Iphilia and Aimiya.

But in the next moment, an indescribable fear enveloped him.

His raised arm froze in place.

“What… what is this feeling?”

The black-robed man’s eyes widened, his upper body trembling uncontrollably.

The primal instincts he thought he’d long abandoned halted his actions and delivered a message he could not accept.

“If his hand moved even a fraction further, he would instantly be reduced to nothing!” ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novelꜰire.net

“What kind of joke is this? Just… a mere demon… how could it possibly exert such terrifying pressure on him, blessed by the Mother Goddess?”

At the same time, a bone-chilling sense of being watched surged within him.

He saw Iphilia, grinning, point a finger upward.

Instinct screamed not to look—something utterly terrifying lurked above! But reason told him it was impossible.

Nothing short of a Hell’s Seven Demon Kings or a Heaven’s Six-winged Archangel could make the Mother Goddess’s blessing tremble with such fear.

Yet, curiosity overpowered his dread. Trembling, he raised his head. His blood-red eyes widened, pupils dilating. He saw… he saw “that thing.”

It was an enormous eye, its vertical pupil like a gateway to the abyss, its darkness striking terror into all who gazed upon it.

The black-robed man could feel “that thing” staring at him.

Even fused with the colossal 【Corpse Bearer】, standing dozens of meters tall, he was as insignificant as a firefly before the moon in the presence of that horrific eye.

A rough estimate suggested the eye’s diameter… was likely larger than Wangyou City, a nationally renowned metropolis!

“What in the world… is that thing?”

“Hum hum~ Didn’t I just ask you to guess how I found this place? Ta-da~ Here’s the answer~”

Iphilia’s face beamed with pride.

Meanwhile, Miss Aimiya, limp and leaning on Iphilia, instinctively tried to look up at the mention.

Before she could see anything, Iphilia swiftly covered her eyes.\

“Hey! You can’t look at that”

The Eye of Leviathan—that was the true name of the massive eyeball in the sky.

Indeed, it was the eye of Leviathan, one of Hell’s Seven Demon Kings, the embodiment of envy!

Or rather, a projection of her eye.

In legends, Big Sis Leviathan often appeared as a giant whale or crocodile.

The first time Iphilia met her, she saw a whale so enormous it defied description, swimming through Hell’s molten lava seas.

Initially, Iphilia was a bit scared of such a massive creature.

But when her old man, Satan, noticed her take a step back and her slightly pale face, he immediately had Big Sis Leviathan transform into her humanoid form to meet her.

Then, Iphilia watched as that massive whale suddenly vanished with a “pop”!

In its place stood a blue-haired loli, about Iphilia’s height, with sleepy eyes and a dissatisfied expression.

Iphilia’s fears vanished instantly.

When she had nothing to do, Iphilia loved sneaking a couple of books from Uncle Mephistopheles’ collection and scampering over to lie on Big Sis Leviathan while reading.

No particular reason—just pure comfort!

Among Hell’s Seven Demon Kings, Big Sis Leviathan was the one most fond of appearing in her true form.

She’d sleep twenty-five hours a day if she could, making Iphilia wonder why Uncle Berial, the great demon pillar, represented the Sin of Sloth instead of Big Sis Leviathan, who lounged in Hell’s lava like it was a hot spring.

Whenever Iphilia asked her this, Big Sis Leviathan, in a half-asleep tone, told her to ask Berial, claiming she didn’t know herself…

By the way, technically, Iphilia should’ve called her Aunt Leviathan, but calling a loli her own height “aunt” felt too awkward.

So, Iphilia stuck with “Big Sis” instead…

Earlier, when Iphilia resolved to rescue Aimiya, she immediately thought of using Big Sis Leviathan’s “special” eye to locate her.

So, she used her summoning magic to conjure the giant eyeball now in the sky—the projection of the Eye of Leviathan.

Even as a mere projection, the Eye of Leviathan’s effect was nearly identical to Big Sis Leviathan looking in person.

Within its indescribably vast field of vision, all illusions were laid bare! The black-robed man’s petty barrier was nothing.

Iphilia could even see every detail of the Night Watch’s deepest underground storage in Wangyou City—down to the number of specimen vials and the words on their labels.

Since it was a projection, summoning it didn’t cause the terrifying commotion of opening a Hell gate.

Plus, with some clever tricks, Iphilia ensured the Eye of Leviathan, though appearing massive, was confined to the barrier’s range.

She didn’t have to worry about scaring the Night Watch or the Human Church’s priests with the spectacle.

Of course, whether anyone accidentally glimpsed something they shouldn’t have and got half-killed by the Eye’s pressure during the initial summoning wasn’t her concern.

Her current goal in revealing the Eye of Leviathan was simple: to scare the heck out of that nasty black-robed man.

Even as a projection, the Eye’s majesty was undiminished.

Hee hee! This was the soul-piercing gaze of Big Sis Leviathan, one of Hell’s Seven Demon Kings! If it didn’t scare him to death.
