Chapter 409 - 409: Marking Territory
Ruby's breath came in short bursts.
Anya's teaching constantly replayed in her mind.
Who would have thought that the numerous scenarios Ruby had imagined would one day become true?
'It's better to get it over with in one motion.' The lesson rang in Ruby's head.
In a flash, she moved gracefully, taking off the lower attire.
Suddenly, Ruby's eyes widened several times over, realizing she had acted on instinct.
She had long prepared for the moment when she would confess her feelings to Michael, yet when she found herself so close to his bare figure, all plans were thrown out the window.
Michael cleared his throat… It wasn't every day he was caught off guard.
"See? No wounds anywhere." He said. Even if the situation might have been awkward, he did not act rashly. With a cloud settled over his mind, he second-guessed every thought. The mistakes of his first life were still lingering within his consciousness.
Ruby nodded slowly, barely listening, her eyes focused downward.
"Ah…" Michael noticed the reaction of his lower half a few seconds later. "Let's be honest… The last few minutes, a beautiful woman licked my body all over. There's a limit to how much I can endure."
Honestly, had he not been suddenly stripped, he wouldn't have realized his body's reaction to Ruby's caressing.
In response, Ruby crouched between Michael's legs, her head slowly drawing closer to the awakened, mighty dragon.
"There could be internal wounds… it's better not to miss a spot." Ruby reasoned her tender tongue flicked outward out of the blue, making contact.
"!!!"
A chill ran down Michael's spine, causing him to shiver.
Ruby blinked slowly before starting to giggle.
"You… jumped!" She teased, with amusement.
Having spent so much time together, this was, without a doubt, the first time she had managed to get such a reaction out of Michael. It was always him who patted her on the head, making her purr in contentment… However, today the roles have been reversed!
Seeing the excited expression Ruby wore, Michael could only chuckle.
"You got me." He acknowledged. The chaos brewing in his soul shattered his usual stoic persona.
From then on, Ruby's reasoning was simple.
It wasn't fair that Michael was the only one doing things she liked. Until now Ruby felt like she hadn't been able to show him the same kind of affection.
Since Michael admitted he indeed liked what she had done, she was determined to pay him back for all the head pats he had given her before!
With interest!
Before Michael could blink, Ruby greedily engulfed his lower half, her flexibility coming in clutch.
The healing properties of her tender touch overwhelmed his senses.
Ruby didn't halt even for a second, refusing to stop even when, several minutes later, Michael's body shook more violently than before.
Finally letting go, she stared at his ragged breathing cheerfully with a radiant smile.
"You liked that! That's payback for all the times you made me purr!" She giggled, more brightly than before.
"..."
Michael stared at her delighted expression, simply content that she had lifted his mood.
"Goddammit… You're just too adorable."
Ruby was taken by surprise. Moving faster than she could perceive, Michael suddenly scooped her light figure up. His two hands were beneath her legs, supporting her body pinned against the wall.
"N—Nya?!"
Wild emotions stirred in her soul when she felt his warmth pressed against her abdomen. Even more shocking, his body was still fully tense, if not even more restless than before.
Like a bottle of champagne, the chaos building up inside Michael's soul reached unbearable levels of pressure, threatening to either erupt or explode.
Ruby's breathing quickened. She might have led the initiative, yet she hadn't expected Michael to respond so eagerly. Though his scent seemed to calm her down, her arms wrapped around his neck almost instinctively.
"Did I startle you?" He asked, realizing that he had, in fact, acted without thinking.
The blush on Ruby's cheeks deepened.
"No…" She murmured timidly. "It's just that… are you sure? With me and my kind being different, we are—"
"Ruby." Michael interrupted. "You are Ruby and a human. Anyone denying that is simply blind. That's all there is to it."
Even though Ruby had spent a lot of time with Michael, and he had told her similar things before, there had always been a doubt in the back of her mind.
Words, after all, were cheap. What would have happened if she confessed how she felt toward him, only to be rejected? She was, after all, an alternation from humanity… would Michael, someone who hated anything alien, really accept her?
Yet finding herself in their current situation made Ruby realize an undeniable truth.
"Anya was right… I really am an airhead…" She laughed softly, realizing all her worries had been unfounded.
Moving her head to his neck, Ruby bit down lightly… Just enough to leave a faint imprint.
"What was that about?" Michael asked, intrigued. Having unshakable trust in her, he hadn't bothered to stop her or dodge.
"I have marked you!" Ruby declared with a proud grin. "Now others will know not to lay a hand on my territory!"
Her tail wrapped around his waist while her legs pulled him in closer.
"C—Come on, let's mix our scents until they are indistinguishable!" She exclaimed, before pouncing on him without a second thought.
"Wait, don't rush—"
In typical Ruby fashion, she didn't consider that since this was her first time, she should have perhaps treated a bit more carefully. Evidently, her body stiffened a second later.
However, wincing would be admitting she had miscalculated. Unwilling to let the pride she had just built up go to waste, she bit his neck on the other side, acting like that had been her intention all along.
Seeing right through her, Michael was torn between concern for her and keeping a straight face, attempting not to laugh from the awkwardness of the situation.
"Don't laugh!" Ruby pouted, her nails gently poking his back.
Michael flashed her a warm smile before gently starting to move.
Ruby's body pressed harder against the wall, the pleasant sensations making her back curve.
"Ah~" Still a bit flustered by her slip-up, she resorted to biting Michael once again. With each soft moan that slipped out, she tightened her hold around him, urging him to intensify his movements.
Their bodies seemed to melt together, only for both to shudder violently at the end, a wave of uncontainable euphoria washing over them.
Ruby purred softly, her tongue trailing across his neck. She wasn't sure what had transpired, but she sensed that Michael's soul somehow felt more stable.
"I think we have to conduct a few more treatments, just to be sure~" Ruby proposed with a devilish grin.
Several hours later, both of them were resting bare on the bed.
Ruby's head rested on Michael's chest, tracing weird patterns on it.
"So Victoria, Claire, and Ava have kept this to themselves all this time? No fair!" She bellowed, her sparkling eyes meeting his gaze.
"For fairness' sake, we must make up for lost time!" Ruby suggested, her tail swishing above the sheets, curling into the shape of a heart.
"Hehehe… Today you are all mine~"
