Chapter 94 : Bound God
Chapter 94: Bound God
"You underestimate me, foolish human. You have no idea of the greatness of the Wolf God!" Those eyes circled around Corleon, as if contemplating which direction would be best to take a bite from.
"The Wolf God created by those dumb dogs you spoke of, you mean?" Corleon said.
Silence fell.
Those eyes drifted to Corleon's front, simply gazing into Corleon’s gleaming golden eyes.
"Your eyes… truly special." His voice calmed down.
"They can see things from more than two hundred years ago."
"The more I look, the more I want those eyes of yours."
"Then you’ll have to step out from that place first." Corleon said.
"Hahaha, let’s make a deal." The Wolf God looked at Corleon.
"I love making deals."
"Especially with humans."
"Unfortunately, I don’t wish to make a deal with you." Corleon shook his head.
"Don’t you even want to hear the terms of the deal?"The Wolf God said.
"I could even offer a price that would make Demitri sell his entire territory and the humans within it to me."
"Money, power, even treasures, Holy Relics—so long as you nod, I can give them all to you."
He was tempting him.
"Truly tempting," Corleon said,"but I refuse."
"Because you still harbor mercy in your heart?"he asked.
"I simply don’t want to make a deal with you."
"Hehe, you’re hostile toward me,"he said.
"Is it because my children killed the people here?"
"They were just ordinary people. They were born to be used by us. That’s the only way they would have any value.”
"You, who possess such eyes, should understand this truth."
"That is exactly why I refuse to make a deal with you." Corleon spoke, taking out the Holy Scriptures of the Lord.
"Perhaps you need to take a look at this."
"This?" The Wolf God looked puzzled.
His eyes stared at the Holy Scriptures, and a force made it float and flip its pages.
Silence.
Silence.
Then the Wolf God burst out laughing.
"Hahahaha, is this the joke book you prepared for me? Thank you for the hospitality—I’m quite amused now."he said.
Corleon merely smiled as he looked at him.
The Wolf God’s laughter gradually faded and silence returned.
"What a madman." In the end, only this sentence remained as the Wolf God’s eyes vanished.
Corleon closed his gleaming golden eyes, as tears of blood slowly flowed down.
"A dumb dog indeed." Corleon said with his eyes closed.
He hadn’t expected that fellow’s actual name to truly be the Wolf God.
Originally, when that being appeared, Corleon could merely see him.
But then, that being offered a true name as an anchor.
Following that name, Corleon had rapidly seen through the entirety of that being’s past.
Only now, the Wolf God had returned to the Marquis Demitri’s Territory, and Corleon’s Revelation was once again obscured.
No, it should no longer be called the Marquis Demitri’s Territory.
That land had already been sold to the Wolf God, and it was now the Wolf God’s domain.
That was what made it impossible for Corleon’s Revelation to bypass him and see what occurred within his territory.
"However, Sir Demitri truly is—quite bold—"
Marquis Demitri’s Territory, the former marquis castle,
A mass of black clouds covered the light of the Morning Star in the sky, and the castle had already been dyed red with blood.
Several werewolves ran through the castle, hearts clenched in their jaws, arriving at the main hall and tossing the hearts down.
Here lay a dense heap of hearts—just a glance revealed several thousand.
Then they knelt devoutly before a werewolf statue placed in the center of the hall.
Suddenly, a swirl of Gray Mist rose from that statue.
"Awooo~"
The werewolves howled excitedly upon seeing the Gray Mist, some even mutilating themselves as if in a frenzy.
The Gray Mist spiraled, eventually enveloping and devouring these werewolves.
Once it had finished consuming, the Gray Mist returned above the statue.
"Truly unpalatable, all of them low-grade first-generation werewolves." His voice held some displeasure.
"There are not many pure-blooded werewolves—they are our kin, not your food."A werewolf stepped forward.
His frame was larger and more robust, standing naturally like a man, his body covered in snow-white fur, with an eye like a ruby embedded in his forehead.
Unlike typical werewolves, his face bore neither savagery nor bloodlust—only calm and indifference.
"You are too slow. Even now, not half the humans in this territory have been consumed." The Wolf God said.
"Humans are not weak. He only made a deal for the territory and took his knights and Holy Relics with him."
"But there are still some locals here, and their resistance is extremely fierce."
"Even with your help, my Splitfang Clan now numbers just over a thousand werewolves. At this rate of invasion, it’s already the result of the children going all out to create first-generation werewolves."
"By all out, do you mean a group of werewolves running off to hunt in the neighboring territory?" The Wolf God floated closer to the werewolf.
"——"
The werewolf remained silent and did not respond.
"Someone over there has been spying on us. They have now discovered our activities, discovered my existence."
"Stop being so lax. We are running out of time, Ymir."
"Now is the opportunity we have waited a hundred years for. No one can afford failure this time."
"So stop doing unrelated things. I don’t want any more surprises before this land is fully digested." The Wolf God’s voice carried a low growl of threat.
"Our target is the Principality of Corlay."
"And don’t forget those fellows at Blackrock Point."
"The things traded with humans came from them."
"Keep your wolf pups in check. If anything goes wrong——"
The Wolf God withdrew into the statue, and silence returned to the hall, with only the scattered hearts emitting a bloody stench.
Ymir exited the hall.
Outside, two robust werewolves with jet-black fur awaited him.
"Chieftain."
They knelt on the ground.
"What is it?" Ymir asked.
"While the children were attacking a baron’s fortress, they discovered a Holy Relic."
"Those humans are using the power of the Holy Relic to defend, and we can’t break through."
"Even if you pile up those expendables, it’s still not enough?" Ymir asked.
Expendables naturally referred to those werewolves that had been temporarily converted.
"We judged that the losses would be too great, so we wanted to request the Wolf God’s power."
"Heh, asking him would cost us even more." Ymir grinned, a trace of barely contained rage flashing in his eyes.
"Bypass that fortress. I need more expendables. We cannot waste time here." Ymir said. "If the fortress cannot be taken, then go after the villagers."
"But, the Holy Relic…?"
The other hesitated.
Ymir suddenly lashed out, grabbing the other’s head, his sharp claws piercing into the skull.
"Are you questioning my decision?" Ymir lifted him, staring into his terrified eyes.
"No, I wouldn’t dare."
The other pleaded.
The other werewolf trembled all over, tail pressed tightly against his body.
"Then go deliver my command. I don’t want to hear hesitation when I give an order."
