Early the next morning, as soon as Lin Mo woke up, he heard retching sounds coming from the bathroom — and judging by the noise, there was more than one person inside.
Since it had been his first night back sleeping in his familiar bedroom, coupled with the fatigue from the day, Lin Mo had slept deeply and comfortably.

Clearly, both of them were stunned by how effective it was. Last night, when Lin Mo had told them it worked, they were half skeptical, thinking that even if it did work, it would only improve things slowly. Who would’ve thought the effects would be this obvious overnight?
“Dad, Mom, how are you feeling?”
Right then, Lin Mo smiled as he stood outside the bathroom watching them.
“Ah, son, why are you up so early? Why not sleep a bit longer?” Mom Zhou Hui asked in surprise.
She knew her son’s habits better than anyone — after more than twenty years, how could she not? He never got up in the morning and couldn’t sleep at night.
Whenever he came home on break, it was normal for him to sleep until the afternoon. That’s why his parents were always extra patient for the first two days he was home, but by the third day, they’d start complaining nonstop.
But today was only six in the morning — her son being up already was as rare as the sun rising in the west.
“I’ve gotten used to it. I get up early every morning now to train. When I was at school, I practiced with Professor Mu, and after a while, I just couldn’t sleep in anymore,” Lin Mo said with a grin.
Hearing that, both of his parents looked at him in disbelief. Was this really their son? When did he become so self-disciplined?
Not only did he look fairer and more handsome, even his daily routine was regular now. He was so outstanding that they almost didn’t recognize him.
Finally, Dad reacted first, pulling him toward the living room. “Son, this medicine your teacher gave you — is it really that powerful? Any side effects?”
“Don’t worry. If it had side effects, would I bring it back for you and Mom? Plus, this medicine is rare — you’ve seen it, I only have one bottle. I just took a bit myself. Once the black phlegm was gone from my throat, I stopped taking it.”
He continued seriously, “You and Mom mustn’t tell anyone about it, okay? Don’t show off. If others find out and come asking for it, I’m not going to bother Professor Li for more.”
As expected, upon hearing this, Mom Zhou Hui rinsed her mouth and came out immediately. “Don’t worry, son, I understand. Good things should stay within the family!”
As she said this, she suddenly remembered the things her son had brought home yesterday — he had said they were all bought through his teacher. They had to be good stuff too.
Thinking of that, Zhou Hui hurried to collect the bottles of Bone Strengthening Liquid, honey, fish oil, and Eight Treasure Cake that had been left on the table.
“Mom, honey water — one glass every morning, remember to drink it,” Lin Mo reminded her with a smile before changing clothes and heading out for his morning training.
After Lin Mo left, the couple exchanged glances, then quickly opened the honey he had brought. Each took a spoonful, dissolved it in warm water, and drank it down in one gulp.
“Mmm~ This honey really lives up to being something your son’s traditional medicine teacher uses often. It tastes great! I can feel my intestines moving already — it’s really helping with digestion!” Comrade Old Lin said quickly.
Hearing that, Mom Zhou Hui shot him a glare. “Oh, stop it. You’re overthinking. Even if it works, it can’t be that fast — do you think it’s some kind of immortal elixir?
