Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 645: Sword Flight

The originally three-foot-long, ancient and austere longsword, in just a few breaths, transformed into a cyan light-forged giant sword nearly five meters long and half a meter wide.

The entire body of the sword was enveloped in solid cyan energy, with its original metallic texture replaced by a peculiar state between energy and matter, emitting a wave of energy that made one’s heart pound and an air of sharpness.

The air around the blade was automatically displaced, forming a subtle distortion.

Duke felt the sword in his hand was as heavy as a thousand tons, not due to physical weight, but the gravity of the terrifying energy contained within.

With a thought, a massive Sand Servant condensed in front of him.

This Sand Servant was made of metallic yellow sand, and its body strength was nearly at the pinnacle within the Level 1 Life tier.

Following a specific trajectory of exertion, Duke forcefully swung the fully charged light-forged giant sword forward.

There was no deafening roar, only a clear and sharp tearing sound, as if tearing fabric, or like the first light of dawn piercing the darkness.

An immense cyan Sword Qi, refined to the utmost, several meters wide with a perfect crescent arc, separated from the blade’s edge.

The Sword Qi was crystal-clear, with countless tiny cyan light points flowing inside along a mysterious trajectory, its edges sharp enough to cut through space, dragging a long, gradually fading cyan rainbow trail, silently yet irresistibly slashing forward at terrifying speeds beyond visual capture.

Wherever the Sword Qi passed, it plowed a bottomless, neat trench into the ground, while the soil and rocks on either side silently turned to dust.

A lingering cyan trace hung in the air, emitting a breath of both scorching heat and purification.

The cyan Sword Qi struck the distant Sand Servant without any obstruction, and the anticipated violent explosion did not occur. Instead, a more terrifying scene unfolded.

The moment the Sword Qi touched the heavy body of the Sand Servant, it silently and effortlessly disintegrated, like ice and snow under the scorching sun or butter under a hot knife, beginning from the contact point.

A colossal, smooth, semi-circular gap with edges resembling molten glass instantly appeared on the Sand Servant, and the gap continued to expand and deepen until it completely pierced through the Servant’s body.

The residual power of the Sword Qi was not spent, continuing to fly into the distance, stirring violent ripples on the light mist barrier at the edge of the Light God Court before finally dissipating.

Duke maintained his sword-swinging posture as the radiance of the Cyan Sun Sword in his hand quickly retreated, its massive form shrinking like an illusion into its original unadorned three-foot-long appearance. However, the blade was slightly warm to the touch, and those ancient engravings seemed to be clearer.

He gazed at the awe-inspiring, gigantic gap on the distant rock wall, his eyes filled with shock.

"The power... it’s too strong!"

The destructive power of that strike’s Sword Qi far surpassed most Level 1 Magic he had mastered; even in terms of pure single-point penetration and energy condensation, it could rival or even exceed some Level 2 energy-type attack spells.

More importantly, this Sword Qi was different from the pure energy-type attack of magic spells, more akin to a physical form of attack.

Though the Sword Qi’s source was Magic Power, its effect was entirely different from magic, highlighting the unique nature of Sword Qi.

No spell Duke knew could cause such damage to the Sand Servant; only Sword Qi could achieve it.

If he relied solely on that trace of true energy within himself, he certainly couldn’t achieve such an effect.

The main reason was Duke’s Magic Power was too pure, with extremely condensed energy.

Additionally, the Cyan Sun Sword itself was a very formidable flying sword; from the information Duke had, it required at least a late-stage foundation cultivator to wield it based on the cultivation levels of that world.

He made a rough conversion; late-stage foundation roughly equated to a Level 1 Crystalized Mage, which was about his current strength.

Duke’s strength was much greater than an ordinary Level 1 Crystalized Mage, so wielding the Cyan Sun Sword posed no problem.

The Sword Command Chapter of the Cyan Sun Qi Transformation Technique required a flying sword to fully exert its effects; an ordinary longsword was useless.

Moreover, the Wizard Plane had no craft for creating flying swords; Duke’s Cyan Sun Sword might be the only flying sword in the Wizard Plane.

The value of the Cyan Sun Sword as a flying sword lay not just in slashing and releasing Sword Qi.

The Sword Command Chapter clearly recorded the supreme state of "Unity of Body and Sword, transforming into a rainbow to escape," which required extremely high cultivation, but basic Sword Command flying was the starting point towards this realm and was a highly practical ability at present.

"Command with the spirit, penetrate the energy through the sword, lift oneself, and roam the azure heavens..." Duke recalled the essentials of Sword Command flight from the Sword Command Chapter.

This was similar to the principle of controlling a flying sword for attack, but required more sustained energy output, stability, precise manipulation of Spiritual Power, and balance between man and sword.

With a thought, Duke’s three-foot azure blade emitted a clear sword hum, lifting him steadily into the air, hovering ten meters above the ground.

The azure light flowed along the blade, forming a weak force field that adhered his feet to it, allowing him to stand as if on solid ground.

He attempted to move slowly in all directions, and the Cyan Sun Sword responded rapidly; though a bit clumsy at first, it quickly functioned seamlessly like an extension of his limbs.

"Good, the stability is initially resolved. Next, speed." A sharp glint flashed in Duke’s eyes.

He injected more Magic Power into the blade, simultaneously stretching his Spiritual Power forward to form a wind-breaking cone-like mental guide.

The Cyan Sun Sword carried him in a sudden acceleration, transforming into a streak of cyan light racing across the wildernesses above the Light God Court, no longer drifting slowly.

The furious wind rushed toward him, making his robes flap wildly, yet the field clinging to his feet remained firm, his form steady without any sway.

This sensation of speed surpassed any of his past experiences. The Storm Dragon Eagle he once commanded was already top-tier in terms of speed among slave creatures, and the quick bursts of the winged serpent were astonishing.

But now, the speed of Sword Command flight far exceeded them both.

Not only in straight-line speed, but also in agility during turns, ascents, and dives, the Cyan Sun Sword showed unparalleled advantages; wherever his heart thought, the sword light followed, almost without inertia-induced lag, as if an extension of his body.

This mode of flight was far more flexible than riding slave creatures, as even if a slave creature’s mind was aligned with his own, there was always a time lag between issuing and executing a command.

This delay seemed brief, but in actual combat, it appeared cumbersome and slow.

With Sword Command flight, this problem did not exist at all, similar to flying on yellow sand, but much faster than treading on yellow sand.
