Chapter 675 - 436: Initiation and Departure (Part 2)

Suddenly, a young girl with beautiful dragon horns on her forehead walked gracefully to Wang Zhifan, effortlessly balancing a copper cauldron much larger than herself with one hand. She then steadied it on the ground with both hands and said to Wang Zhifan:

"Brother Fan, quickly clean yourself inside here, we have to go to Shuyue City soon."

It turned out that the large copper cauldron she brought wasn’t empty; it was filled with more than half with clear water, demonstrating just how powerful her abilities were, transcending common folk’s imagination.

"There should be plenty of time, shouldn’t there?"

Though Wang Zhifan said this, he didn’t delay his actions in the slightest. He agilely jumped out from a large wooden bucket filled with medicinal liquid, then smoothly landed into the copper cauldron filled with clear water, not letting a single drop spill, and began rinsing off the remnants of the medicinal liquid from his body.

This process undoubtedly appeared quite flamboyant, creating a terrifying spectacle akin to "a giant dragon emerging from the sea" or "a fierce dragon plunging into the abyss." However, given the changed relationship between him and the dragon girl over the past two days, both chose to ignore such minor issues.

Soon, with the aid of the Moon-Annihilating Dragon Saber, Wang Zhifan, having cleaned his body, donned a neat and clean blue robe and exited the inner hall into the spacious main hall bathed in the morning sun.

Ordinarily, there shouldn’t have been many people in the hall at that hour, but today was different. Dozens of Wang Zhifan’s disciples and some players affiliated with the Martial Venerable Hall were present. They came early knowing Wang Zhifan was leaving today to see him off.

As Wang Zhifan and the stunning dragon girl entered the hall, his attention focused on a young man with several bandages wrapped around his head and a slight grimace of pain on his face. This was He Kuang, the disciple he had locked in a black tower with three Demon Venerables for a night two days ago.

"Ah Kuang, are your injuries better?"

Approaching the injured-looking He Kuang, Wang Zhifan asked with a slight smile.

"Reporting to you, Master, they have mostly healed."

Upon being addressed, He Kuang composed himself and answered steadily, as if the ecstatic youth from two days ago who experienced a significant breakthrough in his cultivation was a completely different person.

Yet everyone around knew it wasn’t so simple; He Kuang was doing his best to appear composed under the pressure from Wang Zhifan in front of him, so as not to be thrown into the black tower again to face further torment from the Demon Venerables.

His memory of that experience was vivid—he, who couldn’t defeat even one Demon Venerable, was toyed with by three, exerting his full strength merely to survive, even knowing they were going easy on him.

This made him increasingly aware that despite his significant growth in power, he was still just a stronger grasshopper. His initial joy had long vanished, though his composed demeanor wasn’t entirely genuine, it wasn’t completely false either.

"That’s good... I need to go to Shuyue City for a conference today; I’m entrusting you, the eldest disciple, with looking after the youngsters in the hall."

After assessing He Kuang’s condition and confirming they were merely superficial wounds, Wang Zhifan entrusted him with an important duty.

"Rest assured, Master! I swear to protect my fellow junior brothers and sisters!"

Though he winced in pain while speaking, He Kuang patted his chest confidently, asserting his role as Wang Zhifan’s only adult disciple.

In reality, based on the order of joining, He Kuang should be last among Wang Zhifan’s disciples, not the eldest brother.

However, considering his age was significantly greater and his cultivation was at the Innate Realm, specifically within the powerful Sixth Heaven, Wang Zhifan assigned him the title of the eldest brother using the principle of "ability comes first" to help care for the other disciples.

Initially, youngsters like Qin Quan were somewhat resistant, but martial artists deeply respect strength; once they realized even combined, they couldn’t match the injured He Kuang, they accepted this unlucky fellow as their eldest brother.

After instructing He Kuang, Wang Zhifan then looked at the three standing apart from his disciples: a young man from Xia Country wearing sunglasses, a peculiar freckled white female, and a young woman from a neighboring country gazing at him with curiosity.

Although all three wore the clothing of this world’s inhabitants, their unrestrained aura, unique to players, was unmistakably displayed, marking them as significant forces under Wang Zhifan’s Martial Venerable Hall.

The sunglasses-wearing Xia Country man and the freckled white woman were long-time acquaintances of Wang Zhifan, having participated in several NPC demon elimination missions through his connections.

The young female player from a neighboring country, however, was new, having joined only a couple of days ago. According to the Xia Country players, during a demon elimination mission, they coincidentally encountered this female player participating in a civilian-led effort to combat demons, establishing contact with her.

But with poor intelligence and weak capabilities, the civilian organization left her dissatisfied. So, the Xia Country players suggested she join the Martial Venerable Hall, leveraging higher-tier NPC resources to advance in the quest.

Initially, she hesitated at the suggestion—joining on a whim might reflect poorly on her individual questing skills.

However, when the young Xia Country player revealed that the leader of the Martial Venerable Hall was also a player, she was astonished, and driven by curiosity, she came to see for herself and subsequently joined the Martial Venerable Hall, eager to rely on this burgeoning organization.

"As I mentioned earlier, I need to attend an external conference today. This meeting will yield significant information for all of us. Once I return, I’ll share everything I learn; meanwhile, please help look after the Martial Venerable Hall during your free time."

Wang Zhifan politely addressed the trio, recognizing their freedoms, given they were not disciples but, rather, akin to Honored Guest Elders of the Martial Venerable Hall.

"No problem, brother. Go without worry! We’ll keep an eye on things here for you!"

The sunglasses-wearing Xia Country player promptly waved his hand in response.

He was arguably the closest and most trusted by Wang Zhifan among the three players, partly because Wang Zhifan had recently demonstrated formidable personal strength and considerable influence over high-tier NPCs, solidifying his belief in the Martial Venerable Hall as a solid vessel, and partly due to their shared Xia Country origin, naturally fostering goodwill.

With the Xia Country player’s assurance, the other two female players also expressed their willingness to help, though more subtly, merely nodding toward Wang Zhifan without further remark.

Wang Zhifan’s gaze swept over them, particularly focusing on the rather peculiar freckled white woman, noticing that her once ever-present children’s lollipop was gone. Though her overall appearance remained quite "non-human," she had made noticeable progress on the path to "humanity."

"Alright, Quan’er, Ying’er, He’er, you three remember to assist your elder brothers and sisters in looking after the juniors these next few days! Ensure regular practice; I’ll test everyone’s skills when I return!"

Finally, after a few more words of advice to his younger disciples, Wang Zhifan, alongside the dragon girl, set off, flying toward the Zhenxu Hall within the same city.

They planned to rendezvous with Zhenxu and Huayangzi at the Zhenxu Hall, then travel together via the Shrinking Earth Array to Shuyue City.

Initially, the plan was for only Zhenxu, Huayangzi, and Wang Zhifan to attend the conference, but recently the Moon-Annihilating Dragon Saber decided to accompany Wang Zhifan to witness the rare Calamity Realm event, so they would travel together.

Wang Zhifan was pleased with this outcome; he had recently acquired a taste for some otherworldly delicacies and wasn’t eager to part with the Moon-Annihilating Dragon Saber.
