Chapter 269: A Nice But Unexpected Harvest
I woke up on the second day of my planned rest to loud sounds of Chip and several messages in the soul chat. Dammit, what was wrong now? I just needed a little longer, and I’d be able to cure Connie. Fighting through some of my grogginess, I pulled up my chat messages. I wanted more sleep.

Something has caused a radical overgrowth in everything out here. >Rabyn: How radical? >Cecile: Maybe a couple thousand times what I’d expect. >Karlinovo: All of your plants are mana-infused. There had to be a mana burst or a dramatic increase in the mana flow. But I haven’t seen anything. Chip or Corey, can you wake Dave up? >Chip: 12q2322qqqes >Corey: Apologies, Dave, I tried to do it the easy way. Chip beat me to it. >Dave: It’s fine. Gamma, go find Pryte. Beta, go find Glorp. He will be the fastest for getting the news out. How quickly do we need to harvest the crops? >Cecile: They are at peak potency right now. That should hold for maybe the rest of the day. We want them all stored as best we can, like this, for future needs. Plus, I need to get seeds out of many of them. Even if we don’t know how this happened, it’s amazing! I wouldn’t have expected anything like this for another year at the earliest! >Karlinovo: Yes, we need to get that all stored. But we also need to figure out what caused it. This could be a looming problem. Or something we can use to our benefit. >Rabyn: I’m on my way. Don’t harvest anything yet if you can avoid it. Someone find Connie.
