Chapter 354: The City of Telmarian Tribe Conservative

The morning fog still covered the forest of Floor 52 when Ethan opened his eyes slowly.

The cold air inside the cave brushed against his skin while faint monster cries echoed from somewhere far away.

He immediately grabbed Bloodblade Ashura beside him and stood up.

His body still felt sore from the previous day's battles, but his condition had recovered enough to continue moving.

Ethan stepped outside the cave and looked toward the endless forest ahead.

"So this floor really has nothing except monsters…"

He clicked his tongue softly before continuing his journey.

The deeper he traveled into the forest, the more dangerous the surroundings became. Giant claw marks covered several trees, while piles of bones littered the ground.

Some belonged to monsters.

Others clearly belonged to humans.

Ethan remained alert while moving between the trees.

Then—

SKRRRREEEE!!

A loud screech echoed overhead.

A gigantic flying creature suddenly descended from the sky at terrifying speed. Its appearance resembled a mutated bat with four wings and rows of sharp teeth.

Ethan immediately drew Bloodblade Ashura.

The monster attacked instantly.

SWOOSH!

Its claws tore through the air toward Ethan's head.

Ethan lowered his body slightly before counterattacking upward.

SLASH!

Blood splattered across the forest.

One of the monster's wings was severed instantly.

The creature screamed painfully before crashing violently into the ground.

Ethan did not stop there.

He rushed forward and stabbed his sword directly into its skull.

CRACK!

The monster stopped moving immediately.

Ethan pulled out his blade and continued walking without hesitation.

Over the next several hours, the battles never stopped.

Poisonous centipedes.

Giant wolf monsters.

Humanoid creatures hiding within the forest.

Everything on Floor 52 seemed hostile toward him.

At one point, Ethan became surrounded by six armored ape monsters nearly three meters tall.

Their fists alone were large enough to crush boulders.

One of them roared loudly before charging toward him.

BOOM!

Its punch shattered the ground.

Ethan avoided the attack by jumping sideways before slashing across the monster's chest.

The creature staggered backward but did not fall.

"Tougher than the others…"

The remaining monsters attacked simultaneously.

Ethan narrowed his eyes.

"Crimson Slash!"

A crimson arc exploded outward from Bloodblade Ashura, tearing through the forest violently.

BOOOOM!!

Two ape monsters were ripped apart instantly while another lost both arms.

The remaining creatures still rushed toward him fearlessly.

Ethan continued fighting at close range.

SLASH!

One monster's throat was cut open.

CRACK!

Another lost half its skull after Ethan smashed his sword downward.

The final survivor attempted to flee after realizing it could not win.

Ethan calmly raised his sword.

"Crimson Slash."

SWOOSH!

The attack sliced through the monster's body from behind, splitting it into two halves.

Silence returned to the forest once again.

Ethan exhaled slowly while wiping blood from his face.

Then suddenly—

A bright light appeared several meters ahead.

A teleportation gate.

Ethan stared at it quietly.

"So this is the path to the next floor."

Without hesitation, he walked toward the gate and stepped inside.

FLASH!

The surrounding scenery distorted instantly.

Moments later, Ethan arrived on Floor 53.

Unlike the endless forest below, this place looked completely different.

The area resembled a ruined wasteland filled with broken roads and collapsed stone buildings. Black clouds covered the sky while strong winds swept across the barren land.

Ethan slowly walked forward while observing the surroundings carefully.

There were signs of civilization here.

Fresh footprints.

Campfire remains.

Broken weapons.

Someone had been here recently.

Ethan narrowed his eyes slightly.

"…Humans?"

Or perhaps Telmarians.

He continued walking through the ruined road for nearly half an hour before finally sensing something nearby.

Killing intent.

Ethan immediately turned around.

CLANG!

A sword collided directly against Bloodblade Ashura.

The impact sent sparks flying through the air.

Standing before him was a man wearing black armor and a dark hooded cloak. His face was partially hidden, but his sharp gaze remained fixed on Ethan.

"You're not Telmarian," the man muttered coldly.

"And you're not a monster," Ethan replied.

The man immediately attacked again.

SWOOSH!

His movements were extremely fast, far faster than ordinary warriors.

Ethan blocked another strike before counterattacking horizontally.

The man jumped backward and avoided the slash narrowly.

"You're strong," he said.

"So are you."

The wasteland around them trembled slightly as both released killing intent simultaneously.

The hooded man suddenly disappeared from Ethan's sight.

Fast.

Ethan instantly sensed danger behind him.

CLANG!

He blocked another sword strike at the last second.

The enemy smiled faintly beneath his hood.

"Interesting."

Ethan pushed him backward violently before swinging downward.

The hooded man dodged sideways and launched several black throwing knives toward Ethan.

Ethan deflected them with his sword.

But one knife still managed to graze his shoulder slightly.

Poison.

Ethan immediately realized it after feeling a slight burning sensation.

The hooded man rushed forward again, attempting to finish the battle quickly.

Unfortunately for him—

"Crimson Slash."

SWOOSH!!

The crimson arc exploded outward suddenly.

The hooded man's eyes widened.

BOOOOM!!

The attack destroyed the ground violently and sent him flying dozens of meters backward.

He crashed into ruined stone walls before coughing blood heavily.

Ethan slowly approached him.

"You use poison," Ethan said coldly.

The man chuckled weakly.

"You're stronger than expected…"

"Who are you?"

The hooded man remained silent briefly before answering.

"…Mercenary."

"Working for who?"

"No one."

Ethan narrowed his eyes.

Liar.

But before Ethan could continue questioning him, the man suddenly threw a smoke bomb onto the ground.

BOOM!

Black smoke exploded everywhere.

When the smoke disappeared several seconds later, the hooded man was already gone.

Ethan clicked his tongue softly.

"He escaped."

Still, something important had become clear.

Floor 53 was inhabited by people.

Real people.

Not monsters.

Ethan continued traveling through the wasteland afterward.

As evening gradually approached, he finally reached the edge of a massive canyon.

And there—

Beyond the canyon—

He saw it.

A gigantic city stood in the distance.

Massive stone walls surrounded the entire settlement while enormous black towers rose toward the dark sky.

Countless banners carrying the symbol of the Telmarian Tribe fluttered above the city walls.

The atmosphere alone felt oppressive.

Ethan's eyes slowly narrowed.

"So this is…"

The Conservative Telmarian City.

The true stronghold of the faction responsible for Gor City's destruction.

The city looked far larger and more militarized than the progressive village below. Hundreds of guards patrolled the walls while giant weapons resembling ballistas pointed outward from the fortress.

This was not a simple village.

This was a war city.

Ethan slowly gripped Bloodblade Ashura tighter.

His killing intent quietly rose once again as he stared at the massive Telmarian stronghold before him.

Finally.

He had found the heart of the enemy.
