Chapter 508: Soul Power’s mystery and the concept of synchronization
"What I need is an axis." Grey was deep in thought.
The Event Horizon did not work because the frequential instability of a higher dimension was not something it could properly absorb. Even if it did absorb it, would the Event Horizon not just push it out as even more unstable cosmic radiation, causing a direct explosion to happen?
The method of using the Event Horizon as a stabilizer would never work. What it needed was an anchor to push past the initial instability and begin optimizing it.
But how exactly was he going to do that?
Grey remained in deep thought. The axis could not be something uniquely related to his Sainthood. If it was, then what was the point of the 6th rank? Everyone following his path would literally have to become a Saint just to advance.
But at the same time, he had a sudden thought.
"The domain force. Will it work?" Grey’s eyes widened.
He still possessed domain force, though the effect of its buff was subtle now that he had the Nexus frequential energy and Nexus Overclock running at 1000%.
"But it is worth a try."
The domain was directly connected to his soul.
Speaking of which.
"I still have soul power." Grey suddenly came to a realization.
His soul power had been constantly growing alongside him.
"But let us try domain force first." He gave the clone access to the domain force. Soon, the clone began the metamorphosis as it tried to anchor the instability of the higher-dimensional frequential energy to the domain force.
Bzzt! The source shook rapidly as he made the clone gently form a pillar around it. But just as quickly, the power burst out violently.
"Huh? Strange." Grey frowned. "Why did it explode again?"
Grey became even more confused.
Domain force was fundamentally born from the domain and the soul.
"Could it be that the clone’s domain force could not compete with the instability of the 4D state?"
"Let us try the soul power." Grey immediately began making changes.
Soul power... he initially utilized it so that when new people started cultivating his path from scratch, especially those who were never meant to cultivate due to a zero percent affinity with all energy, they would never encounter soul bottlenecks. They would avoid reaching the desperate state Grey was once in when he had to force past his soul’s limits to reach higher levels.
If it could help with an issue as massive as a bottleneck, it should theoretically work here.
Soon, the digital adjustments were made. The clone’s soul power also transcended to the 6th rank.
Boom!
The source burst out with immense Aether frequential power just as soul power erupted from the clone’s body.
"This." Grey’s expression began to rapidly change.
The soul power was golden in color. It completely enveloped the unstable existence of the source.
It was actually containing the explosion!
This was Soul Power, the fundamental force that people so often overlooked.
The source housed the soul, and having transcended alongside it, it had enough raw power to contend with the instability.
But a new question still rose in Grey’s mind.
"If the source is unstable, why is the soul that transcended with it not unstable as well?"
"Is there another reason for this instability?" Grey was stunned.
Indeed, his train of thought was not wrong. If the soul was perfectly fine, why was the source still acting so bizarrely?
"Could it be that the source and soul are not synchronized at all, like I originally thought?"
"Oh." Grey suddenly came to a profound realization.
The soul was never synchronized with the source; it merely existed within it. The source contained his soul, mind, body, and energy, but that did not necessarily mean that they were completely synchronized into one unified entity.
"The reason for the sudden explosion is not because of the instability of higher dimensionality. No, it is because my powers are not synchronized."
"Everything is still entirely separate." Grey was baffled at the discovery.
His mind had been stuck on his former philosophy. The three aspects of existence: mind, body, and energy.
He was still stubbornly clinging onto that concept!
But how could one achieve true transcendence if they clung to separation?
He needed to forge one true power. One singular, unified power that would be the absolute source of it all.
Synchronize all three aspects of existence and give birth to one single, flawless power.
"That is what the other paths have been doing." Grey’s eyes glowed with realization.
But how exactly was he going to synchronize them?
He honestly did not know. Just the thought alone gave him a throbbing headache.
It was not as easy as simply converging everything to a single point and trying to force a fusion.
The fundamental properties of energy and soul were vastly different.
Soul power was superior to energy as far as he had observed. It was even more superior than the frequential Aether power that the clone utilized to reach the 6th rank metamorphosis.
"The optimization of the 6th rank... it should be to form a perfect synchronization."
"But I need to research more before that." Grey shook his head.
His current understanding was not enough. He needed to study soul power much more deeply.
He wanted to see exactly what soul power could achieve on its own.
He had been neglecting it for a while, but that was his mistake. Perhaps, to give birth to a new, unified power, soul power would be the key.
"Do you know anything, Fragment? Finality?" Grey asked aloud. He now had two distinct voices in his head that actively talked to him.
[Don’t know.] Fragment replied.
[But soul power is a crucial thing for people that transcend the concept of space and time. You should tread with it very carefully. One wrong mistake, and it can end your ticket to gaining Ascendancy Valor.]
[Don’t ask me either. I can help you reach finality, though.]
"..." Grey’s lips twitched. Help him reach finality? Why was the voice in his head casually trying to kill him?
"But thanks, Fragment. I will keep that in mind," Grey nodded.
Even the Heavenly Dao itself had spoken up to warn him. That must mean there was much more to the soul than met the eye. His previous thoughts about the source containing the soul power and being superior to it were just pure ignorance.
He had finally learned his lesson. The fact that the soul power had effortlessly stopped the source from outright exploding was the absolute proof.
But the clone would not last long. Once the soul power got depleted, the source would directly explode.
He exited the simulation and went to find Alan Benson.
"Come to the Nexus Domain with the, ahem, treasures. We need to have a talk about the mind and soul. A very serious conversation," Grey sent the message in a solemn tone.
