Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 505: Alan Benson’s Question, How to enter the information layer 101

As expected of the Esper author, he was very smart.

In the crowd, Grey stared at the man with twitching lips. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He had way too many disciples with him already. He had just recently taken in a second one for formations, the elf Aerin. There was also his disciple Werner, and then Carter Smith.

He didn’t have enough capacity for another one!

"But, he will be very helpful for the path," Grey mused thoughtfully.

If he could make this man his disciple, perhaps it could help him in the long run.

One way or another, this man was an 8th ranker himself.

The sixth rank was all about optimization. It was the optimization of one’s existence after anchoring themselves to the huge world and ascending dimensionality.

It was at the sixth rank where one’s power increased by leaps and bounds.

He wanted to make his path as perfect as possible.

"Should I contact him?" Grey appeared thoughtful.

In the end, he decided to do it.

After the lecture ended, he sent a short note stating that he was the new Saint under the Aether Evolutionary Path.

The instant he sent that message, a reply arrived.

[Where are you? I’ll meet you there.]

[I’m in the middle of the street. Next to the Runic research institute area.]

[I am coming.]

Light glitched, and soon Alan Benson arrived next to Grey.

"It is really you," Alan said with wide eyes. "Come, let’s talk somewhere else."

"Sure. Lead the way."

Alan nodded, and soon he took him into a private lounge.

"So you said you wanted to meet the author of the Aether Evolutionary Path. Correct?" Grey tilted his head and inquired.

"Yes. That is right," Alan Benson said with an earnest look on his face.

"I can arrange a meeting with him," Grey said with a small smile.

"Really?" Alan immediately became excited.

"Yes. You can meet him. However, it will be troublesome if you reveal his existence to others."

"I won’t," Alan Benson said hurriedly. "I can swear a binding vow."

"Oh?" Grey was surprised. A binding vow that easily?

"Fine. If you swear a binding vow now, then I will take you to the author," Grey said softly.

"Alright." Alan readily nodded.

He swiftly made the binding vow.

"There, done. Can you now take me to the author of the Aether path? I have wanted to meet him since the day I began researching it. I wanted to ask him something related to the information layer."

"Sure." Grey folded his legs as he leisurely sat in the chair. "Ask away."

"You are looking at him," Grey added with a small smile.

"What?!" Alan Benson stood up from the chair in disbelief.

"Saint Grey, are you joking right now?" Alan Benson said with a frown. "I even made a binding vow. Is this how you treat me?"

"You are too young to be an author of an evolutionary path. You might have become a Saint, but the majority of the scholars have Sainthood potential, including me. I never took the step because it does not interest me at all."

"Damn, no one believes me, do they?" Grey said with a sad look.

Such is life. You will always be looked down on because you are young.

Then, just as Alan Benson was about to say more, he paused. A blinding light erupted from Grey, and the following instant, Alan’s face changed drastically.

"C-Creator Invocation," Alan Benson said with a look of disbelief.

"No way... It is actually reacting to the Aether clone I have nearby." Alan Benson’s mind was connected to a clone he had created to test out the path. The instant the Creator Invocation appeared, the clone’s power began to go bizarre, acting as if drawn out to the invocation.

"So. Where were we? Information layer, right?" Grey smiled softly. "Ask away. I will answer anything."

"S-Senior Grey." Alan Benson did a straight and clean ninety-degree bow. "I am sorry for doubting you. It seems like you attained Sainthood due to you forming this path. As expected. You are a very powerful being to have created such a powerful path on the same level as the Primordial path. I salute you."

"It is nothing," Grey said with a small smile. "I was lucky."

"Luck alone isn’t enough to create a path." Alan shook his head softly. "I am afraid there is more to it than just that."

"Anyways. I wanted to ask you something regarding the information layer."

"I have observed your path. The way I see it, I can spot some connections by the way you developed the mind path of the Aether path. If I am not wrong, you forcefully took away the ability to enter the information layer from the path. Did you not?"

"Oh." Grey nodded. "It is indeed like that. I did take away the ability to enter the information layer. Well, I did not completely erase its traces since no one would find it under normal circumstances, except for those who have a deep yearning for the information layer."

"If they find it, I won’t mind giving them the ability to enter the information layer."

"Then, does that mean you can enter the information layer as a human, Senior Grey?" Alan asked, his eyes widening like saucers.

He knew Grey had something to do with the information layer, but he never expected such a matter to be completely true!

"I mean, I am not really a human anymore. Consider me a Nexus Being. But yes, I did enter the information layer as a human. I do believe it is because of my path."

Yes, the answer to entering the information layer was always related to his path. Not just for him, but as its creator, he naturally took all the credit.

"How?" Alan Benson asked, entirely unable to comprehend this strange phenomenon.

"My energy is a combination of two powers rather than one," Grey said simply. "Do you know about divine energy?"

"I do." Alan Benson nodded.

"Then, you might not know this. But divine energy can influence the information layer as well."

"That divine energy is precisely a combination of two energies."

"Meaning, to enter the information layer, an incomplete energy isn’t enough. You nourish your path with the same incomplete energy. Do you think you will be able to touch upon the Akashic Records that contain all possible instances of the endless reality with such incompleteness?"

"There is also the fact that you need to have a spiritual conduit in the information layer for you to truly begin accessing it."
