Chapter 497: Ascendancy Valor and Paragons
"What was that?" Kaelith asked.
"Nothing." Grey shook his head. "Now tell me about these paragons and these creatures of darkness."
"The creatures of darkness. It is the Abyss," Kaelith said with a shake of his head. "You might not know this, but the Abyssal God is made from a fragment of something from the Ascendancy Domain. The same could be said for the Heaven’s Origin, Tian Yuan. They both are a force that not even those paragons would fight with."
"They all carry fragments of a supreme power. They are commonly known as the Fateless Ones."
"Oh." Grey blinked hearing this.
"What is up with Tian Yuan? Why does he hate the heavens again?"
"I am not sure." Kaelith tilted his head. "But he actively tries to destroy higher worlds. He hates the former Heavenly Dao, the one that was created by the Core and the way it worked, and he took it as a goal to destroy all higher worlds."
"Though he has not succeeded yet due to the paragons."
"Some say he even has plans involving the destruction of the higher worlds, such as using that power of destruction, which brings forth a frequency that defies the concept of dimensionality, to ascend to the higher world."
"But for a being to ascend to a higher world is not easy."
"You need Ascendancy Valor."
"Ascendancy Valor?" Grey was tongue-tied.
"Yes. A being in the Ascendancy Domain is born with endless and boundless valor."
"We gods too have valor, an index close to being capable of ascending. The boundless expression that birthed us gave us that Ascendancy Valor, but it held it off intentionally so we would not reach the higher world and could instead fulfill our purpose in the endless reality."
"How does one gain valor?"
"By doing things that are worthy of the Ascendancy Domain."
"Let me guess. Things such as gaining access to the information layer and making others do the same while following your path?"
"Yeah... that is a possible way of earning valor." Kaelith blinked. "How do you know, Lord Grey?"
"I know a guy." Grey’s lips twitched.
No wonder this Tian Yuan guy was so obsessed with the information layer. It was all for the sake of valor!
"How do I get valor?" Grey inquired. Since he had done that part already, shouldn’t he get some as well?
"You cannot yet," Kaelith shook his head. "Valor can only be unlocked once you transcend the concept of space and time, also known as your dimensionality, and ascend to the God World, the True Source Being World, or the Evolution World high above."
"Hm? Evolvers?"
"Yes," Kaelith nodded. "We call our three worlds the Transcendental Domain or the transcendental plane of existence. It exists above the higher world, which is commonly called the higher plane of existence."
"While others cannot become gods or True Source Beings, an evolver can indeed reach our level of power. Even though they can never match us in terms of raw strength, the person that forged that path was the Chaos Emperor. They are weaker than True Source Beings like True Dragons, but at the same time, they are indeed true beings that transcend the concept of space and time, and in turn, gain access to the valor index."
"Just one point of Ascendancy Valor can directly crush one million beings that have transcended the concept of space and time."
"Of course, you do not immediately gain valor as soon as you transcend space and time. There are more details to it, like additional stages, but it is indeed possible to sense the existence of valor. Some notable figures across the endless reality have done so."
"And this is where the paragons come into play."
"They are beings from the Ascendancy Domain that forcefully broke through from the real world to descend into this fake one created by the Core. They have incredible valor, but the Core in our reality suppresses their power down to the exact same level as us gods, True Source Beings, and the people of the Evolution World."
"They are also here for the same purpose. To find the Core."
"If the Core suppressed their power, could they not have traced it from that?"
"No, Lord Grey. Finding the Core is easier said than done. Not even Pangu could find it."
"It is believed to be in the central point of the multiverse, the endless reality. It is a place that neither the power of valor nor our own powers can access or use."
"To them, many of the encounters and things that happen outside of it are merely fiction. Some beings gain access to the information layer containing crucial information of other realities and write it down as myths and fictions."
"The only way to find that place is by finding a being from there and entering it through that being."
"Our Primordial God had an instinctual power to feel and sense those who revered him or even uttered his name."
"He was able to see visions of that world through that connection, but he could never find it."
"..." Grey was bewildered.
The fragmented Core of Nexus was always with him, back in his old universe!
This was a shocking revelation!
"So, I am assuming that it is these paragons that sealed off Little Hong?"
"Yes. They are the ones that sealed off Little Hong."
"Our Primordial God, Pangu, actually gave birth to immortals and the concept of immortal cultivation. He collaborated with the old Heavenly Dao, who is our Primordial God’s brother, to give birth to it and several universes and higher worlds related to it using the Primordial Axe. As a result, his Ascendancy Valor rivaled the paragons. Seeing him as a threat, the paragons eliminated him. The Primordial Axe was precisely the axe of creation that the boundless expression created along with Pangu and the Heavenly Dao, Tian Dao."
"The current Heavenly One is actually a byproduct of the paragons. It is a monitor created by the paragons to survey the world for the Core and also keep the concept of evolution in check."
"However, among the three, Pangu was the only one who truly died."
"No, it would be more accurate to say that he sacrificed himself to save the old Heavenly Dao and the Primordial Axe."
"He stopped the paragons from ever killing his own siblings by sacrificing his own valor. When his siblings became undying, the paragons had no choice but to fragment them down."
"They took the remains of the Chaos Emperor, whom they had personally eliminated when they realized he could only tap into the powers of the Core and not see its location. They then sealed the Primordial Axe into the Chaos Seal and scattered the rest of his remains into the endless reality like trash."
"As for the old Heavenly Dao, the Abyssal God took the opportunity during the war to take its fragmented pieces and escaped into the Abyss."
"Interesting." Grey took a deep breath as he took everything in.
Everything was connecting. It all made sense now.
Why Little Hong called Pangu and the Heavenly Dao her siblings, why the gods reincarnated, and why whatever was happening in the endless reality was happening.
"But there is something I am confused about."
"What role does Finality play in all this?"
"Finality?" Kaelith stiffened when he heard this.
"You might not know this, but the Myriad Law of Chaos and the Law of Finality are abstract laws that only certain beings can cultivate. Only those with a special physique, like a Fateless One, a Future One, or a Past One, can harness them."
"That is because these laws represent a powerful force of ascendancy within the Ascendancy Domain. They are something everyone dreads and fears. The fragmented Core holds those powers just like it holds any other powers, But, this fragmented core in particular holds the dreaded laws like the myriad laws of chaos and the finality, and they leaked into our endless reality."
"Finality’s influence is more prominent than anything else."
"Even the God World is not exempt from it."
"Through the Core’s influence, Finality gained sentience and became something known as the Cube of Finality. As a result, the entire endless reality is moving toward finality, and not even the paragons can stop it due to Finality’s dreadful influence and power over reality."
"It is once said that, only a single thing can control it and it’s the Crown of Finality, something that leaked out of the Core and has boundless valor hidden inside it."
